Please note the flag listed in this article is an old south african flag, and not south africas current flag. I dont know how to fixt it, but it should be. Its wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.164.72 (talk) 06:43, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
I too am offended by the use of the old flag, at least for consistency's sake change it please (I too don't know how. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.245.48.137 (talk) 14:31, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Under that logic, shouldn't the US flag on the M-1 page have 48 stars? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.161.160.10 (talk) 20:42, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
This discussion would probably be assisted if people explained why x flag instead of y flag would make the article better. ManicParroT (talk) 10:25, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

As a national serice conscript at an Infantry batallion (4 SAI) I was issued with a brand new R4 in July 1981. I have no quotable reference for this, only my personal experience, so I have not modified the main article.
Same here - I was in 5 SAI in 1981 and was also issued with a new R4 in July.
The photo in the Infobox should be of the standard military issue R4. The LM5 photo can be used in the Variants section. Roger (talk) 09:55, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
