Your recent edit about DeepL[edit]

Hi IgelRM!

You recently edited the DeepL article, and unfortunately put in incorrect information about "Frahlinger". You falsely claim that "Frahlinger resigned as CEO and became lead researcher in July 2019, he had recently got attention for successfully requesting media to delete his public relations photos." This is not true, and also not at all supported by the source (Uepo-Article) you give for your claim. Probably your claim is based on another single web-article from a single private person (not an official publication), who blackmailed F with wrong statements. Please remove these claims, since these are wrong statements about a natural person, and not at all supported by any reliable sources. 84.247.216.86 (talk) 11:38, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, I have replied on the article talk page. IgelRM (talk) 13:14, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
84.247.216.86 Addendum here since this is not related to the WP article: I remember reading an article about a legal dispute from an editor of a web magazine (which might be the one you are referring to?), but I reject that I would intentionally try to conflate information from another source into a WP article. I just saw the rather bad spelling mistake of "F" last name, apologies for that since you might be related to the company. Seems like not many people are looking over the article unfortunately (which alleviates errors on an amateur encyclopedia like this). IgelRM (talk) 18:43, 4 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Eidos Interactive into Square Enix. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted ((copied)) template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:19, 13 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Appreciated. Most of what I moved was originally written by me. But my edit summary could have been better. IgelRM (talk) 21:28, 13 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Your GA nomination of Eidos Interactive[edit]

The article Eidos Interactive you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Eidos Interactive for comments about the article, and Talk:Eidos Interactive/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of David Fuchs -- David Fuchs (talk) 17:26, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@David Fuchs: Thanks for reviewing, my first GA. Probably could do more, but the article is much better than before we started. IgelRM (talk) 22:59, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Pocket Gamer did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Fenix Project[edit]

Hello, IgelRM,

I'd like to encourage you to try out Twinkle, an editing tool, to use any time you tag a page for any type of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/MFD/etc.). It has many useful features and is very easy to use. Most importantly, once you set up your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator", Twinkle will post a notification of a deletion tagging on the User talk page of the article creator which is an important step in the deletion process. Twinkle will also help set up a deletion discussion, allow you to report vandals or tag problems you see on an article, post warnings or welcomes to User pages, even maintain a log for you of pages you've tagged for deletion. Many of our admins and amost all of new page patrollers use it because it is very intuitive. It basically knows all of the templates you may need so you don't have to remember them or go and search for the appropriate one. Give a try! Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:21, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you for reaching out. I enabled it, maybe I will remember sending "good faith reverts" with this. IgelRM (talk) 09:13, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Fashion-Dreamer-Key-Art.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Fashion-Dreamer-Key-Art.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:15, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Removal of "indie"[edit]

I think you better look to get consensus for mass removing "indie" from game pages. I would not call the term "undefinable", but it should be used when sources have called a game indie. I know the mess around "Dave the Diver" is one thing, but there's games there that are clear indie examples that you have removed. This might be best to ask at the VG project. Masem (t) 02:42, 17 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks for reaching out. I tried to stay safe by only going for use in lead sentence as genre prefix, so generally I shouldn't have removed "indie" mentioning from articles. I don't think there is a reviewed video game article which uses the term in the lead sentence, I will stop for now of course. IgelRM (talk) 02:48, 17 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Remove of "video"[edit]

Why are you going through and removing "video game" because games were only on a PC platform? Computer games are a subset of video games, and the label is accurate. The general label of "computer game" is fairly antiquated now. Computer game is a redirect to video game, and removing "video game" -> "game" changes the literal meaning. -- ferret (talk) 16:04, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey thanks for reaching out. According to video game, computer game is still an accepted alternative term. I felt it is technically misleading to call "PC only" games video games as the video part originally referring to game consoles/television. Computer game appears less common on the internet but is used: GScholar, GBooks. (Some of the articles also unnecessarily linked video game) But realize I have been done rather bold editing recently and should probably take it easy for a bit. IgelRM (talk) 16:30, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
A computer game is still a video game. A video game on PC-only platforms is still a video game. The fact it it is on PC-only does not change it from either "video game" or "computer game" to simply "game". -- ferret (talk) 16:54, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Ferret: So we need to word it like a CRPG is a video game? I'm not arguing about what it is, but what we label things. Not arguing about my motivation here, "X is an adventure game" is widely used and I didn't change titles or short descriptions. But I will create VG talk thread.
You edited above message, computer game recently redirected to PC game until June 2023. This might need a hatnote considering PC game still says it is also known as a computer game. IgelRM (talk) 10:50, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
