October 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Yintan. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Tom McCall, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Yintan  14:34, 5 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

See also WP:PEACOCK for why we stick to the basics. Note what the lede says about Sir Winston Churchill, and I think most agree he was one of the people most recognized as a statesman, far more than Tom. Aboutmovies (talk) 05:44, 6 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Revert of your additions to HMAS Southern Cross[edit]

Hi there! Unfortunately, I have reverted the additions you made to HMAS Southern Cross. Although I believe your additions were made in good faith, I did this because I do not believe that the source you used meets Wikipedia standards for reliable sources. I am concerned because the source was self-published to the Northern Territory's "Story NT" project, which seeks to collect user-submitted stories, but exerts zero editorial control and claims no responsibility for errors and inaccuracies. I have requested review and further input at Wikipedia's Reliable Sources Noticeboard (the specific section is Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#Requesting_opinion_on_document_from_StoryNT, if you wish to comment there). -- saberwyn 08:10, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

5"/51 caliber gun[edit]

In your latest edits to 5"/51 caliber gun, you didn't provide sources for your changes. The changes to armament numbers is, or should, be documented on the individual ships pages, and it isn't necessarily relevant here.Pennsy22 (talk) 07:50, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File names in articles[edit]

Information icon Please do not edit the name of files in articles as you did to USS Jason (AC-12), it breaks the link to the file. I have corrected the mistake. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The "Show preview" button is right next to the "Publish changes" button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask on my talk page, or to post at the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for January 17[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tom McCall, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Statesman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:44, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
