Stub template[edit]

Hello Roastedbeanz1,

I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the ((stub)) template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is easy to do via the StubSorter tool, and is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.

If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks! MadameOctavian (talk) 10:24, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Obama Kissing Rock moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Obama Kissing Rock, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:22, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Proposed deletion of Walmart opioids settlement[edit]

Notice

The article Walmart opioids settlement has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not much information actually regarding the subject, mostly about other subjects. Instead should be combined with “Criticism of Walmart”.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated)) notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated)) will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Passive voice is not neutral[edit]

Hi! I appreciate your authorship of the page on the Klan lynching of Robert Mallard. I do have to push back on titling the page as "Death of Robert Mallard," as "death" is not helpfully descriptive of the circumstances. "Lynching" fits better. Death is a very typical, universal, normal experience. Lynching is certainly not. Though it may feel more appropriate at times to bury the lede on traumatizing topics and retreat to a "safer" language, Wikipedia is not censored.

Don't fret over this personally. Many otherwise reputable resources use a more passive language when describing deaths attributable to racism, state violence, and modern lynchings (i.e. "death in custody" is abusively used in place of "police killing" in some reporting). The language inevitably spills over into Wikipedia despite running against guidelines. It can be seen in every early iteration of a Wiki page on U.S. police killings, where well-meaning people read "death in custody" and "officer-involved shooting" a dozen times in news reports and then are taken aback by seeing a Wiki page titled "killing," saying that officers "killed" someone. Whereas press has the liberty to self-censor as they wish, Wikipedia is not censored.

Unless there are other factors behind the decision to move the page from "lynching" to "death," I will eventually change it back to "lynching." But again, thank you for writing the page! Mewnst (talk) 17:27, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
