No apology needed, I completely understand. There are many vandals out there, so don't feel too bad if some of them are people at your school. As long as you continue to contribute in a constructive manner, you have nothing to worry about. You will not be associated with the vandals because you have a user name, while they remain anonymous. I appreciate the apology and happy editing. --Cyrus Andiron t/c 19:36, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Ryan, the guy who put the cutlass quote in there never registered and hasn't been seen editing since last March. I wouldn't count on him or anyone seeing your question on the cutlass talk page.
If I were you, I'd contact the Pirate King, Rob Ossian (http://www.thepirateking.com/historical/cutlass.htm), who makes the same claim on his website. That's probably where the unknown editor picked up the 1941 cutlass allegation anyway. --Pirate Dan 03:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC) (sorry, forgot to sign earlier).
To anyone reading- the following is a list of dinosaurus that may (or may not) have been found in Tendaguru. if anyone sees this list, plaese help me cross reference them before i add them to the tendaguru article.

I was bored in Word Processing so I put a bunch of userboxes on my user page.
I'm glad you agree. North American fishes, especially the freshwater fishes, sounds like a workable scope of a project. Fishes of this area are probably well identified and studied than fishes in some other parts. And I have seen several good books that you can use as sources and references. Although the books I found include only The U.S. and Canada fishes. Mexico is typically excluded from those books. Maybe because it's considered Central America? I don't really know if "North American fishes" extend to cover the Mexican ones but this is something you'd probably want to clarify in the proposal too as Mexico (and Central America) have a very large number of fishes that are probably quite different from the U.S./Canadian ones as they include the tropical areas. --Melanochromis 23:20, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I replied to your message on my talk page. I'm at a loss to know what you might have looked at, as the contributions and talk page with a history of nasty vandalism shows up clearly for me. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 03:32, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

None of your userboxes are funny. They're all pretty sad and pretty much based on things that I have already said. Plagiarist. Send me a message on how to create my own. I'll show you true wit and sarcasm. You should get a Ph.D. in philosophy. It as useless as your and your brother's attempts at wit. P.S. my summer has been pretty sweet except for the old people. I've found several mistakes in the Neo-giant article, which I can't fix. Hopefully you can as you wrote it. Please see the Article's talk page for my points. Totnesmartin 19:23, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

I marked Princeton Media Group for speedy-delete, then you marked it patrolled, then I changed my mind and took off the speedy tag. But maybe it ought to have a speedy tag. I wasn't sure. Anyway, you might want to put the speedy tag back on or something. Sorry to complicate things. --Coppertwig (talk) 01:29, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ryan: Thank you very much for the welcome message and advise links. Along the just gone last year I found the Wikipedia a very valuable tool for seeking information usefull for the development of the subject I was teaching at the university (biogeography), and I found it also to be great in finding a lot of interesting information on a lot of general items. I then decided "why not" to contribute in a field I know rather well, wasp taxonomy. As we all know, there is a lot to be done on taxonomy and each one of us can contribute not only to the scholar research but also in putting the taxonomic information acesible to the general public and rise real interest in the real core but shamely neglected central item of the biodiversity subject. Hi Ryan I am currently away working without all my resources at the moment. I will be home in a couple of weeks or so, and i will make your Horse-Eye Jack pic my top priority when i do. I am glad to see someone else hammering away at fish articles; there are so damn many of them that it seems like a never ending task creating them all. Also, i will be redoing the bar jack picture; i was unhappy with the way it turned out, but i have improved my methods since (razorbelly scad pic is quite nice, as is cleftbelly trevally). If i don't respond to messages promptly, its because im busy or the internet here connection is down (it's hopeless). Keep up with the great articles. Cheers Kare Kare (talk) 10:09, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking about this page when you gave it a db-spam. I don't think it really is spam (though it might become so if the promised links were added); rather than see a speedy declined I have changed it to a PROD on grounds of being original research and a how-to guide. Hi Ryan,
I saw the new article up, nice work, but i'm thinking the page should be moved to either "Black jack (fish)" or "Black trevally" to keep inline with WP:FISH page name conventions. Any thoughts or suggestions? Cheers, Kare Kare (talk) 16:09, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Beast of Dean, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Beast of Dean was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Beast of Dean, please affix the template ((hangon)) to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi Ryan, as redirects aren't considered as articles I have taken the liberty of altering your DYK nomination to a new article rather than an expansion. Thanks, Dan1980 (talk | stalk) 00:24, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm not questioning that they are a welcome addition. I do think, however, that the edit is somewhat poorly done. Namely that the images are too many for such a short list and that they break the layout: [edit] links appearing where they shouldn't. In my opinion, I'd keep the images that fit and either remove or readjust those that don't. Dracontes (talk) 18:25, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Ryan,
Just saw the 'cause and effect' section on that talk page and your answer. Fishbase (where the article says you got the info from) says:
"Replaced by Chloroscombrus orqueta in eastern Pacific. These two species have not been adequately studied and may prove to be conspecific".
Always be careful not to read too much into a statement like this. Although its quite reasonable to suggest some kind of niche partitioning, fishbase doesn't state this. In fact, this statement questions whether the Atlantic and Pacific Bumpers are not a single species ('conspecific'). I'm not sure how to put it simply... the way you word it in the article makes it sound as though definitive ecological experiments have been carried out on the two 'species', and the article makes it sound very factual that the ONLY reason Atlantic bumper don't exist in the Pacific is because of the Pacific Bumper. All fishbase states is that one is replaced by the other, not WHY this occurs (if the 2 populations are a single species then this argument is meaningless anyway). I can't see anywhere on fishbase where it states they both occupy the same niche either.
I would suggest perhaps changing that statement to a sentence about how the 2 species MAY be the same. If you got that piece of info from somewhere else, don't mind my rant but put the ref in. I hope this helps.

SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore ((Statustop)) now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.
Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 13:57, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
First, many thanks for your supportive comments on the censorship issue. It has been bugging me for ages but I only just found about WP:WikiProject_Wikipedians_against_censorship.
Second - how come the first thing you do is add an extraordinarily POV sentence to the lead toScouting sex abuse cases?
Not only is the language poor ("tiny" ???) but there is no source in the article for this "fact", which by implication could be seen as a comparison with other similar groups (e.g. priests, teachers). In fact serious research (which could be cited) suggests that scouting has about the same level of problem as similar groups. So are you now going to try adding a similar sentence to Catholic sex abuse cases (it wouldn't last a minute)?
Parity is at least as much my point as censorship. And at the core of the comparison are dramatically different POVs: the scouting gang want to pretend there aint no abuse going down, whereas the people working on the Catholic articles are ok with attacking the Church. Hi Ryan,
I just thought i would let you know i had an unfinished article i was working on in my sandbox (Stout whiting) taken out and posted in its article space by another user. I know you use the sand boxes also, and would suggest you use a word processing program in the future, except for final stages (images, formatting etc). I wouldn't want you to also have an article taken and posted prematurely. Keep up the great fish and marine reptile articles mate, Kare Kare (talk) 04:24, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I see you've been tagging a few pages with the paleo banner. Just to point out that a page should only be tagged with one of WP geology or WP palaeo, as palaeo is a daughter project of geology. Thanks. Martin (Smith609 – Talk) 15:50, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
I have nominated Lukwata, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lukwata. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 07:00, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Citadel Felbarr, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((dated prod))
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I'm posting this message as you marked the article patrolled when it was first created. Plrk (talk) 14:13, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
