Was thinking about doing a DYK for "Darling It Hurts" by PK but think it still looks a little light on - any chance of you waving your wand & performing some magic? Dan arndt (talk) 07:27, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Didn't think I let your birthday slip by without a mention did you? Well done on aging another year... Dan arndt (talk) 02:18, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
Was putting together an article on Maurice Frawley but when I was going through the credits on the Paul Kelly and the Dots' albums I noticed that he wasn't included in the credits despite being a member of that band and the Paul Kelly Band (between 1980-1984), and co-writing "Look So Fine, Feel So Low". Dan arndt (talk) 07:54, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
So its just Keir McFarlane or both Keir and Mark? I'll add it. Would you know where I can find the video director for Running Back? ozurbanmusic (talk) 22:27, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for that. Would that be a reliable source to add for the Running Back video director? ozurbanmusic (talk) 06:22, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Is there any more to do lists on the discography article? ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:19, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for doing the Parkin save, Mick Medew could also do with your Aussie rock history expertise. Cheers, The-Pope (talk) 01:15, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
I see the latest HoF inductees have been announced. The Church are a long time favourite of mine, and it would appear the main problem with their article is just referencing. The Models is a good example of well prepared article (kudos to the editors who worked on that one). The Loved Ones is probably the one most in need of work - expansion, referencing etc. I suppose that we could also work on Johnny Young. Your thoughts? Dan arndt (talk) 22:54, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
In the article it states that their debut single was "Everlovin' Man", released on Astor Records. All the references I can find indicate the band's first single was "The Loved One". A good reference is Rob Lovett's interview. When I've checked the details of the Astor single (such as Milesago and a 45 Discography for Astor Records) they all come up with it being released in 1975. Your thoughts? Dan arndt (talk) 03:56, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Based on this cover of the single it should be "Ever Lovin' Man". Dan arndt (talk) 05:28, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm fairly sure that you'll find that the D.O.B came from the back cover of one of their releases, which also incorrectly states Humphrys name as Humphries. Whilst indvidually they can be found at Jolley's website, I'm sure I saw the actually back cover somewhere else, will do a bit more looking around and see whether I can't find it. Dan arndt (talk) 04:14, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Well done - good work, sorry I wasn't up to my usual standards - R/L keeps interfering. Dan arndt (talk) 00:48, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
I noticed that Creswell, Mathieson & O'Donnell have released a new book 100 Best Australian Albums, haven't been able to pin down the actual list but was wondering whether it was deserved of a separate article. Alternatively we should check to see that the top 100 albums all have their own articles and possibly ensure that a comment is included in those album articles for at least the top 10. Your thoughts? Dan arndt (talk) 04:58, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
I guess you are starting with his Bio - didn't realise he was a multiple APRA/AGSC Award winner. Dan arndt (talk) 08:16, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Given Freud's recent demise - maybe we should both have a look at adding to JF's article. Dan arndt (talk) 05:57, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
I am not talking about him. I read his bio on here and it's back the front he did a lot things. RIP James —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.58.238 (talk) 11:02, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi mate, thanks for all the explanation about the reflist in respect of the Art vs Science page. Your explanation helped a lot. However, (and I only discovered this by accident yesterday) the ((Reflist|2)) has the same effect as you described - that is, it will automatically adjust the reflist to 3 columns if the viewer's browser is optimised for this. I learnt this because my browser (Firefox on a widescreen monitor) automatically changed it to 3 columns... So we're both heading in the same direction and have the same result! But thanks again for the tip! Teachingwedge (talk) 22:32, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Recently noted that an editor has been creating articles for the various Midnight Oil's songs, unfortunately they need a lot of work. Keep thinking that the discography should have been an Featured List. Anyway thought you might want to swing by and have a look. Dan arndt (talk) 04:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
I don't know were go on here for talk with you, I leave it here instead.
I spoke to Jenny Morris which gave me permission to run my fan site for her. The bio on my site I did a lot research in real life by rock magazine. I know Jenny Morris was teacher in New Zealand and Australia. She comes from Spanish background and I magazine with her on front cover and I go by her words. This link has a lot information on her http://quoteunquotenz.blogspot.com/2010/03/in-praise-of-jenny-morris.html I never came here first time I find it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.58.238 (talk) 06:36, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
You can't post my bio information from com.au to .com they are different and have no right post. I already legal esquire and my website is copyright protect now and you stole that information without asking me. I can take legal action with Wikipedia you put back the bio back
Early years and The Crocodiles
07:02, 4 January 2010
Jenny Morris was born in New Zealand in 1956. She entered the music business in 1978, when she began performing lead vocals in the all-girl group The Wide Mouthed Frogs.[2][7] Fellow members were Kate Brockie on lead vocals, Andrea Gilkison on guitar, Tina Matthews on bass guitar, Bronwyn Murray on keyboards and Sally Zwartz on drums.[8] This was followed in 1980 by the band The Crocodiles, with whom she scored a Top 20 hit in New Zealand with 'Tears'. In February 1981, at the behest of manager Mike Chunn, The Crocodiles moved to Sydney, Australia, only to disband in July. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.58.238 (talk)

Jenny Morris OAM is a New Zealand-born Australian pop, rock singer-songwriter. Her first success came with New Zealand band The Crocodiles, who had a top 20 hit single with “Tears”. Re-locating to Sydney, Australia in February 1981, she was a backing vocalist for various groups and formed a trio, QED, in 1983.
Morris provided backing vocals for INXS on their 1983 album, The Swing, she then recorded a duet with lead singer, Michael Hutchence, on a cover of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s hit “Jackson”, it was included as a bonus track on the April 1984 (cassette only) INXS EP, Dekadance, which reached number two on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. Morris worked on their 1985–1986 Listen Like Thieves World Tour.
Her solo career includes top five Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums with Shiver in 1989 and Honeychild in 1991, and her top five ARIA Singles are “She Has to Be Loved” and “Break in the Weather”. These albums and singles also peaked in the top ten on the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) charts.
Morris has won two ARIA Music Awards for ‘Best Female Artist’ in 1987 and 1988 and was nominated for the same award in 1992. In 2003, on Australia Day (26 January), Morris became an Australian citizen and in 2010 she received the Order of Australia. http://www.theharbouragency.com/artist-profile/jenny-morris
Jenny Morris is one of Australia's most successful female singer songwriters. Her creativity, personality and formidable ability have been instrumental in her rise to world wide acclaim as a recorded artist, performer and songwriter.
These same attributes ensure her corporate speaking presentation is both entertaining and highly valuable to a wide range of audience. Looking at crucial personal issues such as success - what it really means and how to achieve and sustain it - Jenny offers a different and thought provoking point-of-view that offers inspiration, insight and down-to-earth how-to's that work for both our professional and personal endeavours.
Jenny started her working life as a high school art teacher, performing at night with a number of bands before signing up with INXS as a backing singer.
Her first solo album - Body and Soul was produced by INXS's Andrew Farriss in 1987. The album went platinum, produced three hit singles and earned her an ARIA for "Most Popular Female Performer".
In 1989 Body and Soul was followed by Shiver which went triple platinum and like Body and Soul produced three hit singles - Saved Me, Street of Love and She Has To Be Loved. European Tours with Tears for Fears, INXS and Prince followed in the wake of international acclaim.
Three more successful albums - Honeychild, The Story So Far and Salvation Jane - have followed resulting in more platinum albums and hit singles.
Jenny has achieved a level of success that most of us only dream about. She has met and toured with some of the worlds' greatest recording artists including Paul McCartney. She has two beautiful children with photographer husband Paul Clarke and she is a respected environmental activist. By anyone's measure, an amazing line-up of achievements for such a young woman. But for all her success and the resulting acclaim, Jenny remains a down to earth person with a wealth of experiences that we can all relate to. Woven into her stories are some important personal messages supporting excellence and strength in all that we undertake.
Jenny's spectacular presentation, which includes a live performance of some of her hits, adds a very special aspect to any conference, dinner or corporate function. http://www.ovations.com.au/presenter_detail/jenny_morris/26385/1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.58.238 (talk) 11:06, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

The fact was ... that in 1994, after The Cruel Sea won four ARIA Music Awards for their album, The Honeymoon Is Over, two of the ARIA trophies were stolen that same night? If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

A tag has been placed on File:IanMeldrum 2005.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding ((hang on))
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey, I'm planning on re-nominating the Jessica Mauboy discography to become a featured list again. Remember those sources you added in the music video section. Well some of the links for those sources don't exist anymore and I need your help finding reliable sources for the "Running Back", "Burn", "Because" and "Everyone" directors. Thanks, Ozurbanmusic (talk) 11:40, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
if you can park your comments for the time being. There's an editor working on a clean up of John Butler, which is an admirable task however am concerned that in doing so he's removing info that I think is still pertainant to the article. Anyway I thinking that maybe I'm too close to the subject being a local freo lad and that my edits might not be encyclopedic enough. Hopefully you can run your vigilant eyes over the article and let me know. Dan arndt (talk) 05:59, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there. As I asked on the GA review, which of your requests is still standing? igordebraga ≠ 00:36, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for everything. First, I was just aiming for the GA. But after so much work that you requested, think I'll go after a magazine I mentioned on the review and try Featured status... igordebraga ≠ 11:37, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Trying to locate a copy of BMusic's Newsletter No.271 (16 December 2000) - chasing the 'where are they now' section, in particular the part relating to Boys and Troy Newman. Dan arndt (talk) 10:02, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately there is no way he was born in 1964. He was only 15 (and still at high school) when he started playing with The Extremists and was 17 when he joined the Boys. He was only in his mid twenties when he died not 33. My guess is that reference you have used is incorrect. Will keep searching to see if I can find a more accurate reference. Dan arndt (talk) 02:49, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the various links (have tried to incorporate them into the article). Apparently there is a reference in Who's who of Australian Rock (Spencer et al) but I can't track it down, if you could then that would assist. Dan arndt (talk) 07:34, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
thanks for rating the DJ Damage and Boney & Stoney articles. I'll add more to them as I find more info. cheers Kathodonnell (talk) 15:20, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Of course I'm ready to give it another shot - am busy at work at the moment but will get on to it early next week. Dan arndt (talk) 08:49, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
I've come to discover that the GA status thing is a big farce. There are some really awful articles in that club, and honestly, you're reviewing process is geared more towards FA inclusion instead of GA. A lot of your recommendation are righteous, but a lot of it you're really over thinking and overdoing. Mattchewbaca (meow) 21:37, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
looks like a fair bit of work ahead, sorry have been distracted lately. Will try and spend some time doing a few transcripts from the tribute dvd, which reflect the influence he's made on other artists ss promised. Will also re-read his book and see if I can glean any gems.Dan arndt (talk) 15:11, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
thanks Shaidar, any help is appreciated! user:Dan arndt helped too. cheers, I wasn't sure about the ratings part - if I could do that too or not. Kathodonnell (talk) 02:58, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Great work on finding all the chart details for those Jebediah songs. Am having a little trouble trying to cite webpages from Pandora any suggestions? Dan arndt (talk) 04:18, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi there, I was wondering if you have time, could you please do the GA review for "Running Back"? :) Oz talk 22:52, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the chart ref. Dan arndt (talk) 03:45, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately grammar isn't my strong point - looks like you've addressed all the editors comments without me. Dan arndt (talk) 03:51, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I meant the bands are called "The Dots" and "The Coloured Girls" and "The Messengers" in the second sentence of the lead (and elsewhere in the article), so I searched for each of those names and found two red links and a dab that did not list the band in question. I would be fine with redirests to his article for the first two and listing him (linked) and the band in the dab.
I did not check for "Paul Kelly and the Dots" or "Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls" or "Paul Kelly and the Messengers" so of course these redirects all exist. I think a redirect to his article is OK (does not need to be to a section).
As for the captions and fair use, sorry to be unclear. I really meant that the more the article discusses the fair use media, the better. This does not have to be in the captions, though if there can be some sort of tie in there, that is better (but WP:CAPTION also calls for concise captions).
Just so you know I lisetened to all of "To Her Door" online - quite a good song. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:07, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Given your help with Black Ice (album), can you take a look at Cliff Williams, and at least give it the Wikipedia:AUSMUS assessment? (I'm thinking about nominating for the GA soon) igordebraga ≠ 18:26, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm welcome to suggestions. Just hope it's not that much work - after all, I'm aiming at this, not this (and am, or should be, busy IRL as well). Black Ice even motivated me to purchase a magazine to push it farther (once it arrives, I'll add more info, and put the article on PR and FAC), but sometimes putting a green circle on a simple article is enough! igordebraga ≠ 18:09, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
