Hi,
First, welcome back. Even though I know I've gotten into a couple arguements with you here in the past, I think you do a great job in generally keeping anime and manga articles here in good shape, so I'm glad to see you have returned. Anyway, I reverted your edit on Children's anime and manga because I think Anime News Network's Lexicon could possibly be considered a reliable source. Entries to the lexicon can only be added by staff, though it does say that anyone can email the chief encyclopedist with suggested additions. I'm personally of the opinion that any area of the site that is totally under the control of staff members is reliable, though perhaps more discussion is needed on whether staff edited sections outside the news/reviews/columns are reliable or not. Hello. I'd like to inform you of a discussion on Sword Art Online's talk page. You see, SAO has a big terminology section (like the one that Shakugan no Shana used to have, only more fancrufty) and the discussion indicates that it should either be removed or merged to more encyclopedic sections. Can you try and merge such information? If you can't, it's alright, but it's never too bad to try. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:32, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
I removed the BLPProd of Tsuneo Maeda as there were two references, albeit unreliable, present. No references whatsoever is required for a BLPProd. Bgwhite (talk) 06:08, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for making unfounded accusations that I modified Wikipedia:BLPPROD while having a dispute with you. Doubly for going to noticeboards and saying the same thing. Your failure to read Wikipedia:BLPPROD#Nominating or the talk page of BLPPROD and then make accusations is appalling. Bgwhite (talk)
Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I moved one of the three requests, the other two were denied. Please see the criteria for moving files at File mover. The only reason I moved the one file (File:Rv01 c01a fushichou.kimera001.jpg) is because it met criterion #2 (Change from completely meaningless names into suitable names, according to what the image displays). Please also only change the file name on an article until after the file has been moved (which the filemover will normally do.) -- Cheers, Riley Huntley talk 03:33, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi TheFarix, I was wondering if the removal of links to seiyu was actually a good idea in this case. I see you've left MOS:FOREIGN as an explanation for these edits, but in many (most?) of the cases it looks like the link to Voice acting in Japan was actually intentional rather than just a foreign way of saying Voice acting. I think MOS:FOREIGN only applies to terms, not to a link's destination, right? So maybe you should be relinking to "Voice acting in Japan" (although that's also debatable under WP:NOTBROKEN) instead of to "Voice acting". What do you think? -Thibbs (talk) 20:04, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

I saw your edits to the definition, and I just thought I'd note there are plenty of sources suggesting specific anime (not all anime) is intended for an adult audience. I agree the wording can be problematic, but it's pretty much exactly what's in the dictionary. As for Merriam-Webster being more or less notable than American Heritage, that's not a value judgment I'm comfortable making, and, if it were me, I'd be cautious when removing a source. Overall, I like your edits there, though, so cheers and happy editing. --Xaliqen (talk) 09:23, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I remember me from a few years back? Can you remember why it was that you showed an obvious dislike to me and what articles I tried to delete? I also created a "Clean up anime" tag or something too didn't I?♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 14:14, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
I remember the argument with you very well and I created a template such as Template:Cleanup manga or something which put articles in a category called something like Category:All anime/manga needing cleanup or something, maybe that rings a bell? I criticized how many articles contained unsourced in universe info and about merging characters into lists and also questioned why it was necessary to have an article on every seiyu. It must have been 3 years ago I think, although I think the most recent was maybe early 2011. I vaguely remember NihonJoe commenting in the background but it was you I definitely had the most words with.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 18:34, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Whenever I look for vandalism in the "Recent changes" section, you always seem to be there. Thanks for your hard work! by Kevin12cd Talk to me This was posted at 01:24, 21 November 2012 (UTC) |
Hi TheFarix!
I'm really pleased that you are interested in "7 Seeds" as well and that you took the time to work on improving the 7 Seeds wikipedia site! :-) Some of your changes were really helpful, and I look forward to working together with you to inform the Wikipedia community properly about "7 Seeds".
I would have some suggestions about the design of the 7 Seeds page though due to some certain reasons. Would you please hear me out and then tell me what your opinion is about my thoughts?
You were probably a bit puzzled as to why I designed the page with so much free space. This has a certain reason. During my time at school, I met some nice pupils with dyslexia in a special class and learned a bit about how difficult it is for them to read big, chunked blocs of text.
They are terribly disadvantaged by the standard text formattings in Print and the puzzling text blocs on the internet. So I decided if I ever publish text, I’ll try designing it as visually comfortable as possible for this group of readers, too. They shouldn’t be discriminated even in the web.
Since I'm handicapped as well, I’d really like to take the needs of handicapped people (who might be interested in this article but might be scared due to the big blocs of text) into account even if it’s "just" a manga article. Thus, I’d really like to keep the table the way it was before as long as it doesn’t really disturb anyone.
An easy, open and well-arranged design is much more reader-friendly after what I experienced on the Internet. That's also why in the manga section there was some space between each volume left; it should help the readers to not mix up the volumes and contents and made it optically more appealing.
I agree with you that there was quite a lot of stuffed together text especially hard to read, and I was already planning to do something about it. But you were maybe a bit too enthusiastic over it in my opinion; especially the meanings of the characters' names play a great role in the manga "7 Seeds" and thus are important information on the wikipedia page.
Same goes for many of the links you deleted; I for example am no native English speaker or Japanese and so I had to follow various links to understand the page's informations better. So I'd suggest to keep the links as far as possible as well as long as they don't distract the flow of the reading.
I would like to find a good compromise with you on the points I mentioned. Maybe we could undo your latest editing for now, and then work together with you and Cyn starchaser to improve this site and make it perfect to appeal to any reader audience and their needs?
I truly appreciate the effort you put into editing this site (it must have been lots of work!), but I honestly am not really happy about the way how you didn't contact the main editors in their talk pages before editing and just deleted away most of their hard efforts too.
This causes angry feelings in those whose work was just suddenly disregarded and put away into the wastebin. Talking about each other's ideas about the talk pages of 7 Seeds or the editors can prevent this and stop the start of an editing war.
For example, about the Characters Section: I agree with you that it needs a different design and better readability. But I wouldn't go about it just deleting the paragraph marks, butchering the text and stuffing the rest of the lines together.
Instead, I tried creating a table which would give all the information quickly and be optically easily surveyed. It would even have some space left to insert images later. (I am currently trying to get the permission from the author to insert the images of the volume covers and small thumbnails of the main characters' faces. It would greatly raise the quality of the site.)
I enveloped a test example for the table below this letter. The thumbnail on the first table is probably too large, but I'm not as experienced as you yet on wikipedia, so I didn't quite know yet how to re-size it percentual to the height of Natsu's character section.
As for the manga section - like I mentioned earlier, they'd be better readable if the empty lines are there.
Thus, I would suggest that I undo the previous edits of yours and instead insert the characters' information in this tables.
What do you think about my suggestions? Would you feel up to working together with Cyn starchaser and me to improve this wikipedia article? We surely could use your experience, but we'd also ask you to hear out our opinions as well before editing our hard work.
Thank you very much in advance for your answer!
Yours sincerely,
NatsuX (talk) 14:27, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
The Naming Of The Matter...
Hi, The Farix!
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I guess you are right in most of the things you said. I guess I'll put off that space thing for the moment then and leave the optical appearance and link amount as you made it for now.
But about the names: they do have a lot of significance for 7 Seeds because the book itself mentions the meanings and the fact that they were chosen based on their names (relating to being kigo - seasonal words used in Japanese poetry). If I use the original Japanese volumes as my source, it should be alright to include the names and make the characters section more well-arranged using the character tables I showed you before, right?
As to the amount of people - pretty much all the characters listed there get a reasonable amount of screentime. And regarding the characters that don't have much of a description: it is because it would probably cause spoilers for readers if more was written about them, like Ryusei for example.
It is also easier for wiki readers if the characters are grouped in their respective teams because there are several main characters, each from different teams, and the story arcs tend to follow single teams and groups of teams. The cast of characters is so huge, that it would be easier to remember who is who by considering who they are in their team.
About the animals: as I said, many of them play an important role, but they don't always stick to just one character. But if I group them with their "main teams" (Spring, Summer...), it should be alright to keep them around?
Well, I guess the likelihood of Tamura-sama allowing free images is little, but one can still hope, right...? ;-)
Your explanations were very detailed and I could understand your reasonings, except for the last paragraph. Could you explain that a bit more to me? I don't quite get what you meant there. Isn't a fictional story mostly never "with very little real world context"? What did you mean by this?
Thank you very much in advance for your help,
NatsuX (talk) 15:10, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Alright
Hi The Farix!
Thank you once more for your detailed answers! :-D I guess I'll leave the site as you changed it, then.
To keep this wikipedia site from being overloaded with unnecessary details (but still giving the chance to learn more to the 7 Seeds fans and those who'd like to get more information about this manga), I'll create an own wiki for 7 Seeds instead, completely separated from this page.
This new wiki will have the opportunity to inform new readers without being spoilered and contribute to the wishes of the more up-to-date readers as well. I hope it is alright that I put the link to this new wiki into the External links section? If I'm not mistaken, this section is supposed to give the links of further information sites after all.
