Verkhneketsky District (Russian: Верхнеке́тский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the sixteen in Tomsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 43,348.9 square kilometers (16,737.1 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Bely Yar.[1] Population: 17,052 (2010 Census);[3] 18,300 (2002 Census);[8] 25,127 (1989 Census).[9] The population of Bely Yar accounts for 46.9% of the district's total population.[3]
