Coordinator elections ended on March 28 resulting in seven elected coordinators: Collectonian, Erik, Girolamo Savonarola, Lugnuts, Nehrams2020, PC78, and Sephiroth BCR. Erik will assume the role of lead coordinator with the other elected members assisting. The coordinators will improve WP:FILMS by introducing and incorporating new elements into the project, and working together in discussions to further improve the project. A full list of the coordinators' responsibilities and information about the election can be seen on the main coordinator page.
After a discussion and vote on the adoption of C-class by the project, admin Rje labeled the vote as no consensus, while leaving the discussion open to be formally closed later.
Erik has proposed a new layout to the project's style guidelines. Further opinions would help to determine consensus on how to best improve the guidelines.
A new addition has been added to the newsletter this month: Did You Know? facts from WP:FILM articles that have been featured on the main page. Would you like to see your contributions featured on the main page? Then first consider creating a new article or significantly expanding a current article. Then view the criteria and instructions here, and nominate your work. If it passes, we may see your addition on the main page as well as in a future edition of the newsletter!
Our project now has 54,600 film-related articles, with 51,700 that have been assessed by our assessment department! Remember to always add the ((Film|class=)) template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class.
Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in March 2009.
One article was delisted as a Good Article. With a little work in addressing the reviewer's issues, the article can be returned to Good Article status.
Remember that any editor can give the WikiProject Films Award to another WP:Films member. If you do present this award, please make mention of it here or tell one of the newsletter editors who will then include it in the next issue.
Please add your name to the member list if you have not already.
If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject Films. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 4 – April 2009). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!
