Cherepanovsky District (Russian: Черепа́новский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the thirty in Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,908 square kilometers (1,123 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Cherepanovo.[1] Population: 47,842 (2010 Census);[3] 50,959 (2002 Census);[8] 53,418 (1989 Census).[9] The population of Cherepanovo accounts for 41.4% of the district's total population.[3]
