Midlothian Council is one of the 32 local authorities of Scotland. Created in 1995, its administrative centre is based in Dalkeith and its territory covers Midlothian, an area from the south of Edinburgh to the Borders.
Midlothian Council operates a cabinet-based decision making model working collaboratively with the Council and Performance Review Committee. Each cabinet member has a portfolio of responsibilities.
