A bit of a personal attack onto Mr Obama at the end... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:4F:A01B:0:123:B1BF:9ED4:8177 (talk) 13:21, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
Two US two-stars killed overseas in the period 1972-2001 spring to mind, Major General James Rumbaugh and Major General Jarrett Robertson. Generals Rumbaugh and Robertson died in accidents, but Admiral Robinson's Wikipedia page indicates he died in a helicopter that crashed as a result of an engine failure, not due to combat. I feel pretty confident in saying that General Greene was the first US 2-star or above killed by hostile action since LTG Maude was killed in the Pentagon attack, but if it is important to state that he was the first 2-star or above to be killed overseas, I think we need to further clarify that by saying killed in a combat zone, and someone needs to check to see if that's actually true.Eltrace (talk) 18:52, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

I just happened to notice that his awards do not include an Afghanistan Campaign Medal. Even if he wasn't in-country for at least 30 days, as he was killed during the associated campaign, his awards should still include this medal. The Famous Adventurer (talk) 08:38, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
