I've redesigned the template in the sandbox to make the listing more concise and similar to what is used on templates like ((Elections in Alabama sidebar)), which I think is a more reasonable design.

Please insert |class=(({class|))} after |sizedefault=frameless to allow upper templates to set a class for the image (particularly the newly-introduced "notpageimage" class, which removes the image from the list of page images). See below for the resulting template source.
