I was about to Prod the article, but saw it was written by you. Could you find some reliable refs for the article. I tried to goto her record publisher's (nons records) website, but it has been hacked with malware on it.
Nothing new. Just the usual. Winter is coming here. I see snow in the mountains from my window. I learned the other day from Titodutta about the state civil service exam he going to take. I thought China and Japan were exam crazy, but those Indian civil service exams have to be the worst. There are only two ways to get ahead, use your head or use your connections. So, atleast stay in school and graduate in something. Bgwhite (talk) 06:37, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm good for Titodutta :), I'm trying to get in school again to graduate. Actually I just have some problems with my dad. I'm hoping he'll allow me soon to go to school again.--Assassin'S CreedT - E - C - G - 06:46, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We're over half way through the final, and so it is less than a month until we know for certain our 2012 WikiCup champion. Grapple X (submissions) currently leads, followed by Sasata (submissions), Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and Casliber (submissions). However, we have no one resembling a breakaway leader, and so the competition is a long way from over. Next month's newsletter will feature a list of our winners (who are not necessarily only the finalists) and keep your eyes open for an article on the WikiCup in a future edition of The Signpost. The leaders are already on a par with last year's winners, but a long way from the huge scores seen in 2010. That said, a repeat of the competition from 2010 seems unlikely.
It is good to see that three-quarters of our finalists have already scored bonus points this round. This shows that, contrary to criticism that the WikiCup has received in the past, the competition does not merely incentivise the writing of trivial articles; instead, our top competitors are still spending their time contributing to high-importance articles, and bringing them to a high standard. This does a great service to the encyclopedia and its readers. Thank you, and good work!
There are currently 15,862 Good Articles listed at WP:GA.
The backlog at Good Article Nominations is 345 unreviewed articles. Out of 439 total nominations, 24 are on hold, 66 are under review, and 4 are seeking a second opinion. Please go to WP:GAN and review an article! Even just reviewing one will help!
The categories with the largest backlogs are: Social sciences and society (80 articles), Sports and recreation (70 articles), Music (63 articles), Theatre, film and drama (52 articles), and History (41 articles). Please consider reviewing articles within these sections.
There are currently 13 articles up for reassessment at Good Article Reassessment. Please help out and go to WP:GAR and review an article! Remember that anyone can review articles that are listed under "Community Reassessment" even if another user has already listed their opinion...the more opinions, the better!
Member News
There are currently 222 members of WikiProject Good Articles! Welcome to all the new members that joined during the past 17 months! If you aren't yet part of WikiProject Good Articles and interested in joining WikiProject Good Articles, go here and add you name. Everyone is welcomed!
This WikiProject, and the Good Article program as a whole, would not be where it is today without each and every one of its members! Thank you to all!
If you haven't done so already, please remember to add your name to this list if you are still interested/active with this WikiProject. If you are no longer interested/active you don't need to add your name anywhere, you're name will be moved into a "inactive participant" list at the beginning of November. Inactive users will not receive future newsletters from this WikiProject via their talk page.
GA Task forces
There is currently not much going on at this time but there is a very large backlog. Until the next backlog elimination drive, please help reduce the number of nominations by reviewing articles and helping other reviewers that may need second opinions.
Thanks to everyone who committed some time to help reduce the nominations backlog during the June-July 2012 backlog elimination drive. Most barnstars have been given out but there are still a few left. Participants that haven't gotten a barnstar yet should get it soon.
Possible Fall/Winter 2012 Backlog Elimination Drive
A discussion is currently being held on the WikiProject's talk page on weather another eliminations drive should take place within the next few months as the last one proved to be extremely successful. Please take the time to go to the the talk page and include your opinion on if you would be interested in taking part in a Fall/Winter 2012 elimination drive.
Good Articles of the Month
Each month, 5 random good articles will be choose to be featured here as the good articles of the month.
Having references included in articles is one of the most important aspects to a good article, let alone Wikipedia! Without them, no one would ever know what is true and what is false and Wikipedia probably wouldn't be where it is today. So this month, I will talk about how to check for references, how reliable they are, and so on and so forth.
The first thing to do when reviewing an nominee is to do a quick scan of the article. One of the things to look for is if the article has references! If you don't see a list at the bottom of the article page, quick-fail it.[2] For newcomers, quick-failing is failing an article when you spot a problem before actually conducting a full review. If you do find a list of references (and in most cases you will) make sure to look through each and every one. If you want to save some time, use this tool as it will tell you if there are any problematic references in the article you are reviewing.
Next, check the reliability and type of the references/sources. In terms of the type of reference, check to see how many primary and/or secondary sources are included. Primary sources are the ones published by the subject of the article. For example, if the subject of the article has to do with the iPhone 4s and the source is published by Apple, it is considered a primary source. Secondary sources are those not published by the subject of the article (or in close relation to it). Newspapers are examples of secondary sources and considered one of the better types to include in the article (not saying primary sources are bad). If you find that most/all of the references are primary sources, notify the nominator about this issue(s) and place the article on hold once you have completed the review. Only in the event that a secondary source can't be found as a replacement, then the primary source can remain. If there is a good mix of primary and secondary sources, that is perfect and no references need to be changed.
Now, reliability. Forums are generally not considered reliable and some blog's may not be reliable either. Newspapers, most sources published by the subject, some blogs, etc. are considered reliable. If you don't know wether the source is reliable, ask for a second opinion. For more info about how to identify wether a reference is reliable or not, visit this article.
Finally, one of the more basic things to look for is that every statement in the article has at least one reference! The only case that a statement doesn't need a reference is when it is common sense that the statement is defiantly true and/or in the case where the statement can't be challenged, as per what Wikipedia says, "All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable published source using an inline citation."
From the Editor
After a long 18 month hiatus, the third volume of the WikiProject Good Articles newsletter is here! Please leave any comments or feedback regarding this issue of the newsletter here or on the editors talk page.
Also, Happy Halloween...in advance!!!
PLEASE READ: If you do not wish to receive future WikiProject Good Articles newsletter's on your talk page, please remove your self from this list. If you are viewing this newsletter from the WikiProject Good Articles page or on someone else's talk page and want to receive future newsletters on your talk page, please add your name to the list linked above.
^Before quick-failing the article, verify that one of the several referencing templates is correctly placed at the bottom of the article. If the template is not placed, try to place it to see if references are displayed. If this proof returns no references, then proceed to quick-failing.
Improving Wikipedia one article at a time since 2005!
Participation: Out of 41 people who signed up this drive, 28 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.
Progress report: We achieved our primary goal of clearing July, August, September and October 2011 from the backlog. This means that, for the first time since the drives began, the backlog is less than a year. At least 677 tagged articles were copy edited, although 365 new ones were added during the month. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2341 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We completed all 54 requests outstanding before September 2012 as well as eight of those made in September.
Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the August 2012 competition, and prizes will be issued soon. The September 2012 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The October 2012 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote.

Thanks for uploading File:Cinestar logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The October 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is currently in the submissions stage. Submit your best October copy edit there before the end of the month. Submissions end, and discussion and voting begin, on November 1 at 00:00 (UTC).
NEW!! In the week from Sunday 21 October to Saturday 27 October, we are holding a Project Blitz, in which we will copy edit articles tagged with ((copyedit)) belonging to selected project(s). For the first blitz, we'll start with WikiProject Olympics and WikiProject Albums and add more Projects to the blitz as we clear them. The blitz works much like our bimonthly drives, but a bit simpler. Everyone is welcome to take part, and barnstars will be awarded.
November 2012 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on November 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on November 30 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in 2011 and to complete all requests placed before the end of October. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in 2011", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest.

I have granted file mover rights to your account following either a request for those rights or a clear need for the ability to move files. For information on the file mover rights and under what circumstances it is okay to move files, see Wikipedia:File mover. If you do not want file mover rights anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Dianna (talk) 22:45, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wilhelmina Will has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the proceeding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!
The 2012 WikiCup has come to a close; congratulations to Cwmhiraeth (submissions), our 2012 champion! Cwmhiraeth joins our exclusive club of previous winners: Dreamafter (2007), jj137 (2008), Durova (2009), Sturmvogel 66 (2010) and Hurricanehink (2011). Our final standings were as follows:
Prizes for first, second, third and fourth will be awarded, as will prizes for all those who reached the final eight. Every participant who scored in the competition will receive a ribbon of participation. In addition to the prizes based on placement, the following special prizes will be awarded based on high performance in particular areas of content creation. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, the prize is awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round.
The featured article award goes to Grapple X (submissions), for four featured articles in the final round.
The good article award also goes to Grapple X (submissions), for 19 good articles in the second round.
The list award goes to Muboshgu (submissions), for three featured lists in the final round.
The topic award goes to Grapple X (submissions), for three good topics (with around 40 articles) in round 4.
The did you know award goes to Cwmhiraeth (submissions), for well over 100 DYKs in the final round.
The news award goes to ThaddeusB (submissions), for 10 in the news items in round 3.
The picture award goes to Grandiose (submissions), for two featured pictures in round 2.
Finally, for achieving an incredible bonus point total in the final round, and for bringing the top-importance article frog to featured status, a biostar has been awarded to Cwmhiraeth (submissions).
Awards will be handed out in the coming days; please bear with us! This year's competition also saw fantastic contributions in all rounds, from newer Wikipedians contributing their first good or featured articles, right up to highly experienced Wikipedians chasing high scores and contributing to topics outside of their usual comfort zones. It would be impossible to name all of the participants who have achieved things to be proud of, but well done to all of you, and thanks! Wikipedia has certainly benefited from the work of this year's WikiCup participants.
Participation: Out of 31 people signed up for this drive so far, 22 have copy-edited at least one article. If you've signed up but haven't yet copy-edited any articles, every bit helps; if you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us!
Progress report: We're on track to meet our targets for the drive. We have reduced our target group of articles—November and December 2011—by over 50%, and 34 of the the 56 requests made in September and October this year have already been fulfilled. However, the rate of tagging for copy edit has increased, and this month we are just keeping the size of the backlog stable. So, all you copy editors, please do come along and help us!
Seasonal oversight: We had a slight fall from grace in the title of our last newletter, which mentioned the season in the northern hemisphere and thus got it wrong for the southern. Fortunately an observant GOCE member was ready to spring into action to advise us. Thanks! In future we'll stay meteorologically neutral.
A query: why can't you achieve the same object by collaborating through the Wikipedia Pakistan project? Setting up a Facebook group to improve Pakisan-related content here is likely to be seen as divisive. - Sitush (talk) 09:52, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so, it's just a community page on facebook, we can freely talk and comment there. No one showed disagreement before so let it go, cheers :-). --Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 12:54, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, wikifiers! The November 2012 issue of the project newsletter is out, and the December Wikification Drive starts in a couple of days. We'll be trying to reduce the backlog and we need your help! Hard-working participants in the drive will receive awards for their contributions. If you have a spare moment, please join and wikify an article or tell your friends. Thanks!
Note: The drive starts 00:00, 1 December 2012 (UTC), and you can sign up anytime!
Articles for creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 1799 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our help desk.
Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add ((AFC status)) or ((AfC Defcon)) to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.
Plus, reviewing is easy when you use our new semi-automated reviewing script!
Thanks in advance, Nathan2055talk - contribs

Participation: Thanks to all who participated! Out of 38 people who signed up this drive, 33 copy-edited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. All the barnstars have now been distributed.
Progress report: We achieved our primary goal of clearing November and December 2011 from the backlog. For the first time since the drives began, the backlog consists only of articles tagged in the current year. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2690 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We completed all 56 requests outstanding before November 2012 as well as eight of those made in November.
Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the October 2012 competition, and prizes have been issued. The November 2012 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The December 2012 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote.
Coodinator election: The six-month term for our fourth tranche of Guild coordinators will expire at the end of December. Nominations are open for the fifth tranche of coordinators, who will serve from 1 January to 30 June 2013. For complete information, please have a look at the election page.
I think it is better in the way like Constituency NA-91 because it is usually known as it is. And on the other hand you moved article into "Pakistan National Assembly Constituency NA-91" which is basically wrong because NA is meant by National Assembly and it's already describing that so not need to make a longer name...Is it correct?--Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 11:34, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, the "NA" in "Constituency NA-91" does indicate that it is a constituency in the National Assembly. I have no doubt that as you wrote, that "Constituency NA-91" is known as "Constituency NA-91", in English, in Pakistan. That would fine for Wikipedia readers who are familiar with the structures of the Parliament of Pakistan. I would suggest that cohort is very few readers. For that reason, I still suggest the article names should have the "Pakistan National Assembly+n" qualifier.--Shirt58 (talk) 12:32, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I understood you what you mean...you think it's a Pakistan's constituency and it should be described like "Pakistan NA-91" or "Pakistan National Assembly 91" but look there is no other countries articles this time similar to "Constituency NA-91" so I would suggest to remain them in their ways because that's the way people searches or calls the constituencies. And when there is any article coming in same name then we'll move them to "Constituency NA-91 (Pakistan)" or "Pakistan constituency NA-91", like that...hopefully for a +ve response :-).--Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 21:34, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My goodness - I'm actually involved a dispute! It's a long-established Wikipedia tradition that we should now stop discussing the merits of the matter at hand and start calling each other names. If that's OK with you, I'll start first: Captain Wikipedia!, it is obvious to me that you are a Wikipedia editor in good standing, and somewhat of an expert about politics in Pakistan. We may possibly have to agree to disagree about some matters raised here. And you are a smeg-head. --Shirt58 (talk) 12:53, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ooooh, a fight. I love a good fight. Dang, I wish I knew some derogatory Pakastani terms. Assassin is so ugly, the family dog keeps trying to bury him. Shirt58 is so ugly, he got his name because his mom kept his head covered in 5 to 8 shirts. If shirt58 left England for Pakistan, both countries IQs would go up. (Nothing better than insulting both of you with one joke). Bgwhite (talk) 18:54, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hahahah, oh my God. I laughed out loud after a long time, it's hilarious. Hello Mr. Shirt58! Bgwhite got us man, he is really good at this :-). Alright enough, so now what do you want?...Just tell me straight forward.--Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 20:06, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ignore Bgwhite, Captain Wikipedia!, he's just annoyed that for him "hockey" means a combination of Ice dancing and MMA. In our more civilised nations, after a proper hockey match, the opposing teams sit down to have a spot of tea and cucumber sandwiches [dubious – discuss] rather than starting up the Zamboni.
Seriously, though. Having had a think about this, I agree with you: if the "Pakistan National Assembly Constituency NA-91" is best known as Constituency NA-91, then "Constituency NA-91" should be the article name.--Shirt58 (talk) 09:48, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm good thought...I already told you it's best known as simply "Constituency NA-91", by the way thanks for your consideration and replying very soon... :-)--Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 10:04, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. I was about to start ((Template:National Assembly constituencies of Pakistan)), but it's already created. At present it only includes constituencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and the federally administered territories. PS: Bgwhite: you are a smeg-head--Shirt58 (talk) 10:56, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I started the template, but it's containing all the articles which I created about constituencies in Pakistan. I'll add all one by one when I started others. Now it's containing the constituencies of KPK, Federal and a number of Punjab. --Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 11:17, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Captain Wikipedia!", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because usernames including phrases such as "wikipedia", "wikimedia", "wiktionary" may give the incorrect impression that the account may be officially affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation or one of its projects.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Sionk (talk) 12:25, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He already has changed his username once before. The Captain Wikipedia name was allowed by a bureaucrat. Bgwhite (talk) 20:52, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As I just said on my userpage, I interpreted the request as being allowed under policy because there is no position of Captain on Wikipedia and the exclamation point indicated to me that it was meant as a joke, like Captain Underpants. As I haven't heard that this user is running around ordering people as a captain, is it that big of a deal if his username says it? MBisanztalk21:18, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You will always be Assassin to me. Combine a word from each user name... Captain Assassin or my favorite: User with no name
Do the Troy McClure routine. Your username would be: Hi, you may remember me with such usernames as Assassin's Creed, Captain Wikipedia, I'm not changing again and Wikipedia stole my name. Bgwhite (talk) 22:56, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hahah, it's being a big talk on my username. I'm thinking that Bgwhite you are right, I should have keep my Assassin name...but I remember there was also an issue on that name too. And Bgwhite I like your idea of Troy McClure, I should do that for a while or always :-).--Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 05:50, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just to clarify, the name wouldn't be allowed under a proper reading of policy and it was my error that let it go through. As such, you aren't required to change names again, but please do try to avoid any confusion under this name's meaning. MBisanztalk06:53, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Mr. Bwilkins, but I don't understand about the "in case you missed the hint" you said. I'll be pleased if you make me understand it better by explaining the phrase a lil' bit. Thank you. --Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 11:13, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You were clearly advised above that the username is against policy. So, if someone wanted to force the issue and take you to RFC/N, then you would indeed be forced to change it yet again. My personal suggestion would be to do it voluntarily before the grief of being forced to, which would only cause negative feelings all around. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 12:09, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agh! But MBisanz has allowed me to use it when I'm not making any confusion by this name. So if you insist then suggest me some names starting with "Captain", if I like I'll jump to it. :-) --Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 12:23, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What was wrong with Assassin's Creed? All joking aside, Wikipedia's username policy is written for a reason. I've got no problems with the Captain part. But newbies in particular may assume someone called CAPTAIN WIKIPEDIA (in big flashing capitals) is not just another ordinary Joe. Sionk (talk) 12:33, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm...User:Captain Obvious was the first one that came to mind, but you would have to WP:USURP it because it was registered but has 6 edits back in 2005. A variant that is User:Captain Oblivious seems to fit for some strange reason that I just can't put my finger on right now. User:Captain Assassin would of course combine this and a previous name. It's not my role to find you a policy-compliant name, but if any user created an RFC/N and linked to MBisanz message above, that would seal the deal and you would be forced to change it. Why not be smart - you seem to want to be part of this community, so live by the rules you agreed to. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 12:54, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for late but I'm a little busy these days you can see that I'm not editing now. So, please wait untill I'm not totally free. I'm in hometown busy in home business. Thanks.--Captain Wikipedia! ( T - C - G ) 17:13, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I like your choice of a new name because I still get to call you Assassin, but now other people won't have to wonder why I'm calling you that. Welcome back Assassin! Bgwhite (talk) 08:53, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there; you're receiving this message because you have previously shown interest in the WikiCup. This is just to remind you that the 2013 WikiCup will be starting on 1 January, and that signups will remain open throughout January. Old and new Wikipedians and WikiCup participants are warmly invited to take part in this year's competition. (Though, as a note to the more experienced participants, there have been a few small rules changes in the last few months.) If you have already signed up, let this be a reminder; you will receive a message with your submissions' page soon. Please direct any questions to the WikiCup talk page. Thanks!
