Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:03, 26 August 2018 (UTC)Do you have any connection with Lisa Robinson? Robert McClenon (talk) 04:20, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi Robert! No, I have no sort of financial or other connection with Lisa Robinson. The only connection could be that she is a professor at my university...but I have never spoken or worked with her. I simply created this page because Lisa Robinson fits Wikipedia criteria (i.e. notability) + in an attempt to increase the coverage of women in STEM on Wikipedia (link).

— Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 13:44, 6 October 2018 (UTC)Please note that I rewrote considerable portions of the article to remove content which we would consider promotional : his name was repeated too often, the explanations were wordy, itr was written through in language very much like unviersity press releases. I also removed minor and local awards from his own universities . In future work, avoid this sort of unencyclopedic writing. Had I not considered him notable, and were I not an editor with a special interest in articles on academics, I would not have gone to the trouble of rewriting, but simply declined the article. I cannot help this way routinely--writing acceptable articles is your responsibility. I expect you to learn; any further submissions of this nature will not be accepted. Hi there, Soulsinsync, and welcome to Women in Red. From the biographies of women scientists you have already contributed, you are going to be a very useful member of the project. I see you have also been involved in the University of Toronto's meetup on 7 February. I would be interested in hearing how things went and whether you were able to persuade any of those who attended to contribute to Wikipedia. Please keep me informed of any future initiatives or simply let us know on the WiR talk page. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 11:51, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi Soulsinsync, if you are using dashboard to register your attendees and create their accounts you shouldn't have to manually do this anymore. Still going to leave it on for you for this event, but if you find conditions that caused you to have to use Special:CreateAccount or Special:UserRights, I'd appreciate any feedback of what happened that made you have to use the manual process after your event is over so we can look at ways to improve the process. The article Maryam Tsegaye has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While a gratifying story, an obvious case of WP:BIO1E.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated))
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated))
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 12:54, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi User:Soulsinsync, I re-reviewed your AFC on Jennifer Kwan - I don't think it was reviewed appropriately. You clearly cited multiple independent media sources on the subject itself in the article; since then there have been more. (Also, the user who reviewed it initially has been banned under a cloud that included inappropriate assessment of content.)
I've moved it into article space: Jennifer Kwan and added a CC-SA-3.0 pic. Thanks so much. All the best -- Samir 02:46, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

John Dupuis and I presented at the virtual WikiConference North America last weekend. Our talk was a walk down memory lane of the last eight years of our teaching Wikipedia editing and organizing editathons.
Our presentation emphasized how important it is to participate in OTHER people's Editathons. We realized that our last IRL Editathon was the one that YOU organized at the Ontario Science Centre, just before pandemic lockdown in March 2020. We have great memories of that day. You can see a images from that event in our talk posted on Vimeo. Dawnbazely (talk) 20:26, 16 October 2021 (UTC) |

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add ((NoACEMM))

Women in Red 8th Anniversary | |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |
