Question from Bakthi ganesh (09:09, 25 August 2022)
History of Iberia or Georgia, that is All of Sakartvelo
Hello! I created the page "History of Iberia or Georgia, that is All of Sakartvelo" by Prince Teimuraz. As an experienced Wikipedia user, please review. Thanks in advance. Lasha-george (talk) 22:16, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Lasha-george, it looks like you Google-translated the whole article from kawiki. Such content would be inappropriate for Wikipedia - we first off need attribution to the original article, as well as some significant improvement to the Georgian version, and lastly, and most importantly, additional references to demonstrate notability. Notability on one wiki is not notability on another. Different Wikipedias have different policies and guidelines, as they are independent entities. In its current state this article would probably be deleted, and if there aren't any significant references and improvements I will nominate the article at WP:AFD. Sungodtemple (talk) 23:47, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Lastly, a couple things you should probably do, fill in the bare references with a template like Template:Cite book, unorphan the article, change the article title to a WP:COMMONNAME in English, or, if there is no common name move it to the romanized georgian name. Sungodtemple (talk) 23:47, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
When you nominated this article for deletion, you placed it in the wrong Delsort category. (It isn't a video game, which is a kind of thing you really ought to know before nominating a page for deletion.)
Every time you tag a page for deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/CFD/etc.), please post a notification of the deletion tagging on the talk page of the page creator. I see you use Twinkle to tag pages, which is great, so please make sure your Twinkle Preferences have the "Notify page creator" box checked off. Also, when you are tagging pages and the Twinkle box pops up, make sure the "Notify page creator" box is selected. It's an important step in the process of deletion to let content creators know if pages they have create might be deleted.
Also, the draft you tagged for CSD G7 deletion had just been created earlier today. The page had not been "blanked", the editor just hadn't gotten started creating this draft yet. Please check out the page history and do not tag pages, especially drafts, for deletion right after they have been created unless there is problematic content (like copyright violations, BLP violations, advertising, defamations or attacks). In general, it's more important to get damaging content out of main space rather than patrolling Draft space. Editors working in Draft space are usually new to working on Wikipedia and we can't expect them to be familiar with all of the various policies and guidelines. Also readers do not view drafts so they are much less visible than work in the main space of the project. Thank you for all of your contributions! LizRead!Talk!00:38, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
Greetings with great respect. Thanks for the feedback and corrections. As for the sources, at the same time, the similar Georgian Wikipedia page also indicates the sources on the basis of which the page was created. Sources are also preserved in the National Library of Georgia.--Lasha-george (talk) 07:55, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
Pongousilly, the mention in the lead of the article is inappropriate. Only very important information to understanding the topic is put in the lead, such as actors in the movie, reception, and filmmaking process. It is such a small piece of trivia, in fact, that I would recommend to not even include it in the article at all. Sungodtemple (talk) 01:28, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
Is there any way to add an in pop culture icon to the page? I love the most trivial of information when I am searching on Wikipedia! Pongousilly (talk) 01:36, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
I'm sorry -- it is not meant to show patriality to this particular accreditor (although there is a reference mentioning they are prestigious).
I will create a separate section regarding controversies. They are located in Delaware, US. That is where they are incorporated. They are not incorporated in the Netherlands. They do no business in the US. 65.50.156.22 (talk) 02:05, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Many people assume an international accreditation means that the school is safe and there is a method to resolve conflict, especially in less-democratic countries. CIS does not offer this service. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.50.156.22 (talk) 02:06, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Don't edit an article on what you think people will assume - has this claim been verified by reliable sources? The changes you made, I feel, gave undue weight to its status as a non profit, and not enough to other activities. Sungodtemple (talk) 02:10, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
The financials of this company were documented by US IRS sources. Unfortunately some companies incorporate in Delaware, US due to the best tax loopholes available. It is abused when no business is actually conducted in the US. CIS conducts no business in the US and their HQ should say Delaware, US - not the Netherlands.
Their symbol represents trust, but this trust is being bought and they fail to indicate that they do not enforce their rules to be accredited (unless you read deep into their website). The top salaries of this company are a red flag as well. 65.50.156.22 (talk) 02:27, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Lara larryy, technically, to create an article, you must be autoconfirmed. Then you can go to the article title in question and press 'create' or 'create source'.
Good morning! I am wanting to add a business that I own to Wikipedia. It is a Superman museum and ice cream parlor. We are a Route 66 attraction and I am wanting to get more traffic and was told that this was a good place to start. --Cbriley72 (talk) 15:48, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello sungodtemple, thank you for the edit to my (first) page [[John Clement Adams]]. Looks like you added a wp:promo tag. Can you clarify what reads like an advertisement (or contains advocacy, propaganda, recruitment, self-promotion, advertising, marketing, etc)? -vipavipa Vipavipa (talk) 15:35, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Vipavipa, here are a few issues I saw with the article:
The #Selected works section is excessively long and seems to mention pretty much every composition of his.
The lead section of the article mentions only his education, awards, and students, all of which are great ways to advertise someone.
There are a lot of namedrops here. Who cares if this guy was the teacher of Alejandro L. Madrid? Or that he went to college at Harvard University? Or that he has had two or more compositions published by Schirmer? Inherited notability is relatively rare.
There is an obvious WP:REFBOMB problem here. I am actually thinking of nominating the article for deletion, could you please give the three sources that fall best in line with WP:GNG? With all the citation clutter I can't tell if he is actually notable. Sungodtemple (talk) 23:15, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Hi sungodtemple, I appreciate your response. Let me respond inline:
1. The #Selected works section is excessively long and seems to mention pretty much every composition of his.
I understand this concern. Are there guidelines for what is excessively long? I did include every composition of his that I'm aware of. Such a list has not been collected anywhere else; isn't there value in having this compilation in Wikipedia? Failing that, are there guidelines for how to identify which are most notable for inclusion?
As per MOS:LISTSOFWORKS, "Complete lists of works, appropriately sourced to reliable scholarship (WP:V), are encouraged, particularly when such lists are not already freely available on the internet." -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:19, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
2. The lead section of the article mentions only his education, awards, and students, all of which are great ways to advertise someone.
3. There are a lot of namedrops here. Who cares if this guy was the teacher of Alejandro L. Madrid? Or that he went to college at Harvard University? Or that he has had two or more compositions published by Schirmer? Inherited notability is relatively rare.
Thank you, this is interesting. Regarding the compositions published; I figured this helps establish notability. Regarding his education and his pupils, I don't have a great answer, or I don't know how to negotiate this. I think there is a reasonable expectation that a reader with interest in the composer is generally also interested in his/her pedagogical lineage.
4. There is an obvious WP:REFBOMB problem here. I am actually thinking of nominating the article for deletion, could you please give the three sources that fall best in line with WP:GNG? With all the citation clutter I can't tell if he is actually notable.
I have also been thinking about adding a section of the article dealing with the confusions arising between the three American composers named John Adams. This has resulted in false attributions in VIAF, in music programming, etc (see the 2nd source I cited above).
Vipavipa (talk) 00:39, 20 October 2022 (UTC)vipavipa
The NYTimes is definitely significant coverage. The other two seem to be trivial mentions however. And for the #Selected works section, see WP:NOTDATABASE. I don't think the article meets notability guidelines, so I'll put this at AFD.
And, by the way, creating an article is one of the hardest tasks someone can undertake. I myself have never created a single new article. So yes it might be deleted, but there are many other ways to contribute to Wikipedia. Sungodtemple (talk) 00:58, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Interesting. Is coverage in the New York Times more Wikipedia-notable than coverage in a local paper like the Berkshire Eagle? The Boston Globe? The MIT Tech? Vipavipa (talk) 03:09, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
It all depends on the amount of coverage. IF there is just a one sentence mention it won't count. But if a few paragraphs are dedicated to the subject it is definitely significant coverage. Sungodtemple (talk) 14:02, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello. Can I create an article without submitting it as a draft? For example, not creating a draft but just creating the article straight away(if you understand what I mean).
Soccerking.greg127, I am not an AfC reviewer and cannot formally review the article. I think there isn't enough discussion as to the significance of the match. There isn't enough content in the article. Sungodtemple (talk) 22:02, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
On the speedy deletion of Juiceslf
Not every article on Wikipedia is meant for deletion, some may be stubs Wikipedia:Stub and can be improved with time as musicians or ensembles status and credibility improves, that was why wikipedia stated in Wiki:criteria for musicians "Musicians or ensembles must meet either one of the following criteria", meaning they do not have to meet all criterias listed before they can be notable, they may meet some and others with time, Because He is a notable musician satisfy the basic MUSICBIO and i spent my time creating this article on draft before making it to Be an article because the artist album reach Apple Top 100 Nigeria here [1] and he published two books here [2][3] which is an example of notability and he even been signed a record deal [4] and he even got nominated for the The Headies here https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/05/2022-headies-full-list-nominees/. I don't know much about some other editors creating the article which fails notable. Hope to be considered. Degal22 (talk) 16:09, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello, Sungodtemple. Please note that for the A10 speedy deletion criterion, it does not apply to duplicates of drafts – it only applies to duplicates of articles. Please remember to read through criteria before tagging pages for speedy deletion. I notice that you have tagged multiple articles with that same error: BetSure (Uganda), BangBet (Kenya), and Antonio De Rosa, but two similar nominations of yours were declined on 19 November (Samurai Maiden, Trojan Holding). Please be more careful, and remove your nominations from the current articles. Sdrqaz (talk) 01:28, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello, Sungodtemple,
I came to say something similar. We don't like it when editors cut & paste an article from Draft space to main space. But if the main space version is superior to the draft version, you shouldn't tag the main space version for deletion. There is no advantage to deleting a better version of an article because editors don't do things the way we prefer they do them. Please be more careful with your speedy deletion tagging. LizRead!Talk!02:18, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Liz, what if, the article and draft have exactly the same content, as is the case with BangBet (Kenya) and Draft:BangBet (Kenya), and the content does not belong in main? I understand the other two. Sungodtemple (talk) 03:05, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Legality/Légalité
Just want to say thanks and no worries; we are not required to know everything, thank goodness. If I was overly emphatic I apologize; I have had repeated issues with NPP jumping with both feet into translations and creating havoc. Fixing this will require a policy change however and that won't happen overnight. None of that is your fault. I appreciate the fact that while you made a mistake you explained your thinking and were able to change your mind based on discussion. Rest assured that this will get fixed, whatever fixed looks like. You are correct that splits, moves and editing of redirects etc may be in the cards. I am pondering legality/légality and so is Mathglot; the main thing to know is that this is a term of art in a legal context, though the word in French would still be this one if it was being used as the English word is Elinruby (talk) 02:50, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
This is regarding this RM. I just came here to say that I appreciated your rapid closure, and that I grant that your motivation in opening it was strictly to improve the article. Apologies if I came off as testy; we need editors like you, who are willing to initiate a process like an RM when you think it is warranted, and secondly who aren't bothered by changing their mind when new facts become available. That latter, especially, is too rare here, sadly. So, kudos, and hope to bump into you in other articles as we go forward. All the best, Mathglot (talk) 06:49, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi Mentor, How are you doing today? I need your help, I want to understand how page creation works on Wikipedia. --Deepak DT (talk) 06:48, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
Deepak DT, to create a page in any namespace not in mainspace, simply go to the page and create it. For example, you can create User:Deepak DT, Wikipedia:Asdf, Template:Asdf right now.
If you are requesting an article creation, which is a page in mainspace where readers can see it, this is a complicated task best completed after more experience. I myself have never created a single article. If you wish to pursue this route make sure to review WP:YFA. Articles must be neutral, verifiable, and notable. speedy deletion
Hey,
Just go ahead and delete the page. I was trying to link the website itself from the infobox on my userpage, but instead it linked to a new article. If you could tell me how to make the infobox link to my website itself, that would be very much appreciated.
If you spot some suppressible information again, please report it for WP:Oversight rather than posting a copy or summary of the suppressible information on the user's talk page. The objective is to keep our users safe, not to out them. Cabayi (talk) 13:02, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Question from Guptaayush927 (22:11, 12 December 2022)
I want to create an article about my a new singer / artist I like. The artist is new, he has one song out yet. He has 3 newspaper articles in newspaper websites, IMDB, spotify, apple artist profiles. Is this notable enough? Or what else would be required? --Guptaayush927 (talk) 22:11, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
Guptaayush927, profiles do not count towards notability. IMDB is user-generated and not reliable. This leaves the news. I would be cautious in naming them GNG-passing sources. They might be interviews, passing mentions, or from a questionably reliable news source like the Daily Mail, all of which would render it useless for determining notability.
In this particular case, since the artist has just one song out, I would wait until more, sustained coverage of him is produced. From your description, I think it is just WP:TOOSOON for an article. Until then, you can work on improving existing articles.

Question from Bashetty88 (02:11, 30 December 2022)
Hi, I am phanindhra from India. Presently in Mexico
Working for an MNC.
Can you help me understand how this works , is it free or will I get any remuneration for edits or updating information ? --Bashetty88 (talk) 02:11, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
Bashetty88, as a paid contributor, you must disclose that you are being paid. Instructions are in the link provided above.
The English Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs English Wikipedia and its sister projects, will not pay you for editing.
Finally, contributors with a conflict of interest are highly recommended to use the edit request system to edit the article indirectly. Wikipedia has policies and guidelines, and every editor must follow them. In your case, WP:NPOV would be important. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 04:32, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
Draftification
Hello, Sungodtemple,
If you expect to do more draftications, I encourage you to install User:Evad37/MoveToDraft. It's the tool/script used by most patrollers and admins and makes the process seamless, including posting a notice to the page creator, alerting them on where they can find their article. It really makes "Move to Draft" an easy process. Try it out! LizRead!Talk!01:41, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
Question from Dieselgrass (04:53, 5 January 2023)
I don't want to edit, as much as post a new page in reference to and linked to a "Mitch Bottler" that is already mentioned throughout pages on Wikipedia in accordance to R.E.M.'s cover of Superman and a few more songs. --Dieselgrass (talk) 04:53, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
Justyouraveragelechuga, You are, 99%, not gaining admin rights. I am not. Admins are expected to demonstrate a need for the tools (which I cannot see), 10000+ edits and many years on Wikipedia (which I cannot see), and have a very, very deep understanding of policies (which I cannot see). Note that commenting on others' talk pages to invite them to participate in your RFA would be considered canvassing.
I'm trying to add missing wiki pages for the commercial banks of Armenia. And by looking into other bank pages, I can see that there are bank pages with less info, but they were accepted. So wondering what I'm missing in above pages.
Mkrtich.soghomonyan, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a valid reason that your article should be accepted. Those other articles could very well be AfD'd. Meanwhile, your sources are simply routine coverage, like a company listing. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 12:44, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
The rules are very generic and to be honest I couldn't figure out how it is decided the company is notable and deserves a wiki article or not.
Hope you can help to understand the rules more better.
For example how many independent sources or articles about the company can be considered as a notable?
I added links to the Central Bank and KPMG(one of the Big_Four_accounting_firms where there are coverages about those banks.
Can you please give an example of a wiki page of company that can be considered as a guideline? Mkrtich.soghomonyan (talk) 13:16, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello and happy new year. I am new in terms of participating and have a question regarding editing a reference section of an existing page. I have made a minor change to a page by editing the town population count using the latest census. Editing the text section was easy, but I couldn't figure out how to update the reference section so to replace the old census link and replace it with the new one (2021). Could you please explain how to update the link in the reference section?

Question from Australopithechic (16:00, 27 January 2023)
Hi there, I am attempting to edit the page for Zeresanay Alemseged. I am new, obviously, so I thought I would start with small changes that he himself had asked for, which is to remove his birthdate for privacy. I also removed the word "Ethiopian" as it is not a qualifier with meaning for his profession. I fear I have now been flagged as a "vandal" by another user from the German site. Could you please let me know what I should do before I attempt adding the planned updates to the article? Thank you so much, -A --Australopithechic (talk) 16:00, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
Australopithechic, since you personally know Zeresanay Alemseged, you should refrain from editing the article directly per WP:COI. The English Wikipedia policy WP:OWN explains that nobody owns the contents of an article, even the subject. A similar policy is likely in place on the German Wikipedia.
Additionally, different language Wikipedias are completely separate projects, and rules from one project do not necessarily apply to another. Please ask for more specific guidance on the German Wikipedia, de:WP:Teestube. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 20:29, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you, Sungodtemple. I had briefed through the user guidelines, and did see that it is best to not edit if you are the subject or know him/her.
Because I would be editing mostly to fix some outdated items (and I took note that citations are missing), rather than adding wholly new content, I thought this might be appropriate under best practices (wouldn't users want accurate and cited information?). Is it best, then, to hand this off to someone without a relationship for the areas that need updates? I do appreciate the philosophy behind that ideal but if the same changes were to be made, I don't understand the added complexity since my edits would be examined by other Wiki users just the same to be sure to remove bias and such. I definitely am not trying to twist the rules; I honestly just thought fixing incorrect statements and adding citations would be tolerated as well as appreciated.
That said, I also did read that personal information can be removed for privacy reasons if it is not well-publicized data, and that was the motive for the removal of the birthdate. Australopithechic (talk) 14:31, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Question from Editorevmmm (21:56, 15 February 2023)
Since the article was previously proposed for deletion and deleted, the recreation of the article is de facto contesting of the PROD. Angela Bassett did the thing
Hi, and thanks for your notability tag on Angela Bassett did the thing. I disagree with it being a neologism and I only called the article what it's called because I couldn't think of a suitable article title, and [ABdtt] was the most notable quote from DeBose's performance. If you're able to help then that would be appreciated and I will try to find some more secondary sources :) XxLuckyCxX (talk) 22:30, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
@Sungodtemple I will agree that there's potentially an argument for recentism although there are definitely a wide number of secondary sources available that prove it is notable, it's just a case of finding them and citing them in the article XxLuckyCxX (talk) 22:47, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
OK. Well I don't want to bother with that. Not feeling it today. So, respectfully, go away.
Thanks for the heads up and consideration in moving the article to draft space.
It is actually a part of a series of articles my community and I (Wikimedians of Twi Language) are working on to curate certain well known fabric designs with African heritage. We appreciate you raising the red flags so we can work at them.
For the name of the article we think it would be more suitable to go by the Nigerian given name - Akpirikpa azu, as it is well known in the internet sphere.
Hello mentor! I'm a noob and have just started making small edits to articles. However, I'm attempting to create a brand new article and I'm feeling a little wobbly. The new article is a documentary film and the film is on a very controversial topic. I spend much time in Portugal and would confirm that sapo.pt is a well-known internet site and company there. The page was of use to me!
I'm not in a position to provide you with RSs for the acronyms you ask it for, as I don't even know what they mean. There may be valid alternatives to what you cannot find.
Hi Mentor. Thanks for being here.
Curious, back in January I suggested some information for the "Andrew Tate" page under the arrest/investigation section and also the header section but I see they were not incorporated. But when I go to the TALK page, it seems very short and I can't tell what feedback there might have been on my suggestions. Hoping to find out for both curiousity and also learning. How do I find my comments. (example added information about "Tate's Angels" and the names of the women he was arrested with and their association to Tate -- along with sources of course.)
SassyMay, I can't find any edits to Andrew Tate on your contributions page. Can you link to the edits? Go to your edit in the page history of Andrew Tate, press 'diff', and copy paste the URL.
Andrew Tate is a contentious topic and I would avoid editing it, since your edits, especially if they do not conform with Wikipedia's insane number of policies and guidelines, may spark huge edit wars. I would recommend starting with a non-contentious topic. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 13:50, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Question from Elvis7077
Hello, thank you for the feed back concerning the article I published recently. I just wanted to ask what you meant by two profiles and one PR on the article. Basically I'd like you to elaborate on those two subjects since I lack understanding on them or their meaning as far as writing goes. Thanks for reading through this hope to hear from you soon Elvis7077 (talk) 12:23, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Question from DouglasFirPine22 (16:06, 2 April 2023)
Thank you so much for being an available mentor! I just submitted a draft my first page today and am excited to move through the process. --DouglasFirPine22 (talk) 16:06, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
I have removed the two sections as you suggested, I was wondering if you would mind having another look at this? DouglasFirPine22 (talk) 22:38, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
DouglasFirPine22 the other sections still have promotional wording, even just looking at the titles. For example: Augspurger’s work history covers a wide range of contributions to the art and practice of studio and sound architecture, including but not limited to; the design of custom monitor loudspeakers, building transmission line analysis software, reviewing over 4800 patents, and authoring numerous articles in acoustical journals and magazines.Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 11:40, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback. I have refactored the sentence you mentioned above. I also combed the entire piece for potential issues across titles and paragraphs, and updated those, too. I specifically removed all mentions of the following words and phrases: known for, well known, wide range, numerous, key ingredient, and proudly. Would you mind reviewing? DouglasFirPine22 (talk) 15:36, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
DouglasFirPine22, if you are asking me to review your article, I cannot do so. I am not an AfC reviewer. And unfortunately, there is no way to make the process faster. You will just have to wait. Remember that Wikipedia editors are all volunteers. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 15:45, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Understood. My intention was to ask if you don't mind checking the article to confirm that the wording no longer appears promotional. I apologize if that is outside of your volunteer work, and if so please disregard my request. DouglasFirPine22 (talk) 17:17, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi,
The page has been updated with more information. However, I believe other users can help enrich the page going forward. Thanks for calling my attention to it. Factscheq (talk) 12:40, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated)) notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Hi Sungodtemple, When creating a redirect, please check if the redirected term is actually mentioned or discussed on that page, as this is expected by the reader, and ending up on a page where there is no mention at all of the redirected term can be confusing. (Obviously this can be relaxed a bit for redirects from common spelling errors). Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood(talk): 13:23, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
Question from Chathusha induwara on GPT-4 (15:30, 13 May 2023)
I lost my google account and now I need to get the number of the person who uploaded it --Chathusha induwara (talk) 15:30, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
Irrelevant children should not be mentioned in the template section of a royal. Instead, they should be mentioned in the "issue" section precisely because that is the section dedicated to all children, without discrimination of irrelevance. I think that's right, otherwise the section wouldn't be called "issue". Even if irrelevant certain children still existed, they shouldn't be deleted from the section just because they don't have a Wikipedia page. At most this reasoning can be done for the "issue" section in the Template at the top of the page, because the "issue" section of the page serves precisely this: to list all the children, whether they have Wikipedia pages or not because they existed and subsequently must be mentioned in their section. It seems obvious to me. MariaAmaliaduchessadiParma (talk) 06:40, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
Question from Scrittoressa (17:59, 14 May 2023)
Hello, Sungodtemple!
I am excited to be here! I have wanted to edit certain articles for a long time and was simply afraid to, as I didn't want to mess up anything that others had worked on. Guess I am getting braver in my old age so will forge ahead anyway. Finding out about you just now gives me renewed confidence! Thank you so much for being there.
So, what is the best way to begin the editing of an article - without messing up anything already there?
Thank you again! --Scrittoressa (talk) 17:59, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
Scrittoressa, easy ways to edit an article include adding references to statements, citing reliable sources. Another one is copyediting, improving grammar in bad sentences. Your homepage should suggest articles to edit for you, and you can change the filters to easier tasks. Lastly, if someone thinks you did something wrong, they will revert the edit, meaning it's hard to hurt the encyclopedia. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 21:13, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Question from Anthony Knights (08:08, 29 May 2023)
can I possibly submit my draft copy of my page for someone to look over? I tried to load it and it has been rejected and I don't really know why? --Anthony Knights (talk) 08:09, 29 May 2023 (UTC)
Anthony Knights I don't see any drafts on your contributions page. But your talk mentions that your sandbox has been deleted under WP:G11, meaning that your draft was probably too promotional. There are quite a few links on your talk page indicating what you should do. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 17:05, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

hello someone has edited this and has put sevco instead of rangers but he has not signed for rangers yet but he is currently doing a medical to sign for the club how can this be changed thanks --Jamiegee187 (talk) 11:04, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
Hello! I'm editing this page for my wife (I'm her PR agent) -- it was created a few years back by a publisher and it is incomplete. So far, no trouble making text edits but each time I try to upload a BIO PIX, the pix gets removed. Cand you please help me find a way to get her picture up there? I have ZERO issue with using a pix from her past events but the most recent one was also taken down. She's attending several cons in 2023-2024 and her pubs have asked that she have a complete and up-to-date page. I'm new to all of this so any and all help is most appreciated. pm --SHARKeditor77 (talk) 21:32, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
SHARKeditor77. You were the one who removed the image.
You are affiliated with Colleen Madden. In fact, you are being paid by her to edit the article. So you must declare your conflict of interest in a statement on your user page or be blocked from editing. You are recommended to use the edit request system instead of editing the article directly.
Hello, Sungodtemple! Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Just to be very clear, I am not being paid by her -- I found this page and that it had already been created about her years ago, by one of her publisher's, and I felt it needed to be updated to reflect her current works and projects. I was doing this for her as she does not have a pr agent but is represented by an illustration agency that does have a wikipedia page. As far as notability goes, she has published a fair amount of best-selling work that can all be attributed and linked to the publishers and internet sources she is affiliated with. I believe this page might have been created when she did a book with Mariah Carey "All I Want for Christmas is You" and then publisher deemed her a notable person to have a wikipedia page. She was also on the NYT Best Seller list in 2018 with a book that she did with another notable person, Deborah Harkness and I added that title to her book listings. I also did not remove any images when I was editing -- only tried to post them as I stated I am very new to this and I wasn't sure how / what to add. I do not think that this page should be marked for deletion but I do think that it needs to be updated and all of the books listed under her name as author/illustrator or illustrator, should be put back up and the page should be left as it was (before I started editing it on 7/15-17) but so her book list can be updated by a non-affiliated source, as you stated above, like all other wikipedia pages? Thank you again for the clarification and time, Sungodtemple. :-) SHARKeditor77 (talk) 00:03, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
https://a.co/d/3eYXaIt -- book reference link (fyi - all of the other titles that were once listed on this wikipedia page about her can be found on her author page, all posted by the affiliated publishers) SHARKeditor77 (talk) 00:35, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
SHARKeditor77 You don't need to prove the notability to me. I would take what you put here and put it in the deletion discussion.
I'll readd the photo of her. The full book list gives undue weight to her books, which have varying importance. I removed all but the ones mentioned in the lead paragraph of the article, because those seemed to be the important ones. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 01:56, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

Question from BBHCB (22:21, 16 August 2023)
Hi,
Can you please review my last couple of edits of Devuan?
BBHCB all the sources you cited where Devuan itself rather than secondary sources saying stuff about Devuan. Essentially, you're taking what devuan's website says, condensing and parsing it, and placing it on the Wikipedia article. The changes would be more appreciated if you cited secondary sources, which are considered more neutral than primary ones. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 01:03, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, that makes perfect sense, I will work on improving that.
BBHCB, the content you added talked about Devuan's features, but that doesn't provide a brief summary of the article. It's not just about what the product is, but also information on the development and whatnot. Debian is a good example of what such a article should look like. As you can see, the lead includes information not only about its release history and key features, but also financial status and development system. Question from Chronologer-01 (15:25, 1 September 2023)
Hi
I just posted a comment and I made a mistake in it.
How can I correct it ? --Chronologer-01 (talk) 15:25, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
Chronologer-01 simply go to the section where you posted the comment, press 'edit' or 'edit source', and change the comment. Editing comments is acceptable if you do so immediately after you post (as in you accidentally missed something). Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 22:29, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
Hello! On the page "Taketoyo Line",on mobile the station numbering in the wiki table looks a bit.. ugly.

CE0 Higashiura
4
Is there a way to fix this? --AlphaBetaGammsh (talk) 06:00, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
Can I also ask if I did not screw up in expanding the pages
If anything is wrong with your edits, other editors will revert or change the page as necessary, so you don't need to worry about being 'correct' in your edits, especially as a new editor. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 14:28, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
Question from CarolynnTravis (14:46, 19 September 2023)
Hello, I would eventually like to create a page for my brand, Earlove. I don't have the time immediately but want to start collecting my thoughts. The brand is 20 years old and was one of the first to offer high fidelity hearing protection in bars and clubs. --CarolynnTravis (talk) 14:46, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
CarolynnTravis, the best advice I can give is to start by gathering qualifying sources to put in your article. Two or three, depending on the quality, is enough to prove notability, basically the only criterion that matters in a new article. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 16:43, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
Wuodsigei23, to create your user page, click on the red name in your signature. If you are trying to create a Wikipedia article about yourself. this is not recommended and will likely result in failure. You should read through WP:YFA to start. Question from Melciamorelcia on User:Melciamorelcia/sandbox (19:14, 6 October 2023)
Hi I have a question about creating a page. When I wanted to create one,it teleported me to sandbox but I couldn't name the page,I could only write on it,what do I do? --Melciamorelcia (talk) 19:14, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
Melciamorelcia, you probably tried to create a page in article space, which can only be done by autoconfirmed editors. You can create a page in draft space and submit it for approval via Articles for Creation. I will say, creating a new article is the hardest thing you can do on Wikipedia, so it's not recommended to start by doing so. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 20:03, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
Question from M1TZUK1IVA (21:59, 7 October 2023)
Hello, I just made my account and apparently you were assigned my mentor? Considering how many edits you made it makes sense. Anyway, I'm wondering if I can try to add an entire section to an article, because it's missing information that I happen to know something about. I'm not sure what I'm doing with editing here, and I'm not entirely sure what I can and can't do. --M1TZUK1IVA (talk) 21:59, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
M1TZUK1IVA I assume you are editing Three Fires Council. While you may have personal knowledge of Big Timber, you cannot add any info to the article that is derived from your own memory, as that isn't verifiable. How would anyone know that you are telling the truth, rather than a troll?
Question from Mayelcabague (07:10, 3 September 2023)
Hello,
What are the important tips when i want to edit and add reference in an article? --Mayelcabague (talk) 07:10, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
Mayelcabague First, you have to make sure the reference is a good source. For example, The Guardian is a great secondary source, but IMDB is crowd-sourced data and may not be accurate. Full guidance is at WP:Reliable source.
I assume you are using the mobile source editor. To add a reference in there, use <ref></ref> tags after the punctuation which needs a reference. Between the <ref> tags, you can place the body of the citation. It is recommended to use a template, for example Template:Cite web, which takes input data and automatically generates the reference.
Can I ask Sir how can I add citation that is not look like an promotional or advertising ? Because it is really not my intention. Mayelcabague (talk) 15:42, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you so much for your well detailed explanation Sir. I admit I am lack of knowledge about that and thanks for informing me Sir. Mayelcabague (talk) 15:58, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
One more question Sir. But do I need to outreach the owner of article before I add citation again to avoid blocked in Wikipedia? Mayelcabague (talk) 16:02, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
Noted on this Sir. I will do my research more to avoid irrelevancy of adding citation to article. Thanks a lot. 110.93.88.197 (talk) 16:19, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
