The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Organized labour project[edit]

Thank you for joining the Organized Labour project. I've been a participant in the project since 2006 and am helping with a revival of it. As part this we are introducing a new membership system, which will help with communications among participants. This involves creating a membership file for each participant within your user space (you can see an example of my membership card here: User:Goldsztajn/WikiProjectCards/WikiProject Organized Labour). This system is already in operation within a number of wikiprojects (such as Women in Red and Medicine). You will not have to do anything, myself or someone else from the project will create the relevant file within your userspace. However, I am conscious that it is not polite to change an editor's user space without notice. If I don't hear from you in the negative, I will go ahead with making the change after the 18th of January. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Many thanks for supporting the project, in solidarity, --Goldsztajn (talk) 10:42, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Namibian political party infoboxes[edit]

Good afternoon,

I would like to bring to your attention the issue of including German and/or Afrikaans in Namibian political party infoboxes, which, in my opinion, is entirely unnecessary. While German is recognized as a national language, it is not even considered official. Even if it were, in practical terms, no one refers to SWAPO as "Südwestafrikanische Volksorganisation," for example, in everyday discourse. Therefore, its addition seems unwarranted and quite odd.

As a point of comparison, consider South Africa, where Afrikaans, along with 11 other languages, holds official status. However, you will not find these languages included in their respective infoboxes because, as stated above, no one uses their non-official translations besides their registered name. I would have understood the inclusion of German, for instance, if the party was a minority party specifically catered to represent said minority. Thus, I suggest the removal of German and Afrikaans from Namibian political party infoboxes.

I eagerly await your response.

Aficionado538 (talk)

Comment[edit]

Regarding this revert. I intended to WP:BANREVERT massive changes to the article made by a sock with CIR and POV issues, though I should've stated so in my edit summary. The infobox parameter for "now part of" also looked cluttered and wrong Kiu99 (talk) 03:46, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That IPv6 you've been reverting[edit]

Hi, Vif12vf. I see you have been reverting edits from 2600:6C50:7EF0:4A70:AC5E:678F:2922:B2D1 in several places, calling them a sock. It's actually even worse than that: all their text is lifted straight from copyrighted sources. Compare my warnings on their talkpage. May I ask why you say they're a sock, though? Do you believe they're evading a block on an account? Bishonen | tålk 08:01, 15 November 2023 (UTC).Reply[reply]

That's the contributions from 2600:6C50:7EF0:4A70:AC5E:678F:2922:B2D1's /64 range, in other words, it's more contributions from the same individual (a /64 range is just one person). I checked those before I wrote to Tiberius, Uncle G, admittedly a little superficially, but afaics, there weren't any copyvios there apart from the one IP I warned. I'm not sure about the socking - your explanation is a little vague, Tiberius - but the pasting of copyrighted material is very clear. Of course with an IPv6 you can never tell if they have seen or will see any warnings before they've moved on to another IP in the range - sigh - but I'll try to keep an eye on it. If there are more copyvios, I'll just block the range. Bishonen | tålk 16:53, 15 November 2023 (UTC).Reply[reply]
Ah that clears it up, thanks. Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 16:55, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please do not inject your unsourced opinion into articles, with made-up terminology like "official country" which is meaningless to everyone but you [1]. Reversion of minor edit at "Songhai Empire"[edit]

Hi. I'm curious as to why you reverted my edit, since the whole original paragraph has no citation whatsoever and states an unquestionably wrong and misleading fact: the Sanhaja and Tuareg are distinct peoples within the Amazigh group, and the Tuareg arrived later (by the 11th Century. I simply corrected that statement. If you need a citation, I'll gladly provide it, but reverting with no description doesn't help. Cheers. Il Qathar (talk) 18:58, 22 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi[edit]

The dominican parties PLD & the PRM don't are center, i know the politics from my country Dominican Republic, in the case of the PRM that confirmed from his website[1], the PLD is centerleft, never are centrists[2]Oli (talk) 01:43, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

What you know yourself cannot be used on wikipedia, editors are not allowed to use themselves as sources. If our sources contradict your personal knowledge, then the actual sources always take precedence! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 03:03, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Did I show you two links that prove what I said about the PRM and the PLD? Did you even read them first? Or did you only notice the first line of my first message and ignore the rest? Oli (talk) 05:44, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
>If you continue to use yourself and primary sources over over reliable third-party sources to support claims you make that make no sense, it will be considered disruptive editing!

I will take this message of yours as a threat, I am going to talk to a librarian about this, because it is evident that you are not going to want to debate about this, because you will file a complaint against me for permanent blocking for "disruptive editing", thank you. Oli (talk) 05:52, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That is in no way a threat, that is how wikipedia works! You may never use yourself as a source, and primary sources for political parties can only be used for certain things, but are generally frowned upon. If you continuously use these when being told off for doing so, that is disruptive editing by definition, and something you may get banned for on wikipedia! This is no threat, this is just how editing here actually works! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 06:45, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you, you never wanted to debate, and I thank you for the new nickname you gave me "Edition Disruptor", I hope many more nice threats like that soon. Oli (talk) 06:49, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That is not a threat, thinking so is beyond hysterical. Also if your edits are in violation of any editing policy or guideline, then yes, that is disruptive, possibly even vandalism when bad enough. And if you continue to make edits violating policy or guidelines, then sooner or later someone is actually going to have you reported or banned from editing. Wikipedia is not a free-for-all! Also when your sources don't meet criteria, there isn't really a discussion or debate to be had in the first place! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 06:59, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for the new nickname "Hysterical Edition Disruptor". Very thanks. Oli (talk) 07:10, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

the logo has not ever been listed as copyright material (that cannot be uploaded on Wikipedia) on either the official party website or any other website or social media page that the party owns or operates on. In addition, I have edited small parts of the text on this logo to make the text appear more readable. proving that the logo includes the works of many including the uploader themselves. I kindly ask you to do more research before disrupting edits made by other users and see if these logos or pictures are actually copyright material or not. I know you may be concerned about files uploaded on Wikipedia and it is the official rules of Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia that a user must not upload a logo that is restricted by copyright, and I knew this very well before uploading the file.

Thank you.

You have not provided any proof of a license or a fair-use rationale on the file-page, and all party logos are in fact copyright material in some way, wether you like it or not! You also listed it as your own creation, which it is clearly not! You may not use the logo before you can provide proper proof that wikipedia indeed has permission to use it!
