Hello there!
Regarding the recent back-and-forth with the 4.4 screenshot in Android version history, what's the big deal there? The picture's caption clearly states it's the KitKat runing on a Nexus 5, and that's what it looks on that phone, which is a kind of Google's reference Android platform.
Please, any insights on what are you actually suggesting that we should place there instead? A screenshot of the KitKat running on a Nexus 4, or a CyanogenMod / AOSP version, or what? :) Please advise. -- Dsimic (talk) 16:55, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi, what do you have in mind for the Windows 8 article? Is that article still for Windows 8.x as a whole or just Windows 8.0? If it's still for 8.x as a whole, then the screenshot should still be 8.1, the latest version. - Josh (talk | contribs) 16:34, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
If Windows 8.1 is considered a subarticle of Windows 8, then that means Windows 8 should still partially cover Windows 8.1, right (e.g. the Windows 8.1 summary section stays there, the "latest stable release" should still say 8.1, etc.)? Or if the article "should reflect just Windows 8", does that mean the Windows 8.1 section should be removed, and the infobox should say 6.2.9200 is the current version, and Windows 8.1 should be listed under "succeeded by"? - Josh (talk | contribs) 17:27, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Windows 8.1 is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Windows 8.1 until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Himanis Das (Talk, Facebook me, Tweet me) 15:57, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi! Firstly, I've read the reply you did in Lisa's talk page, but I forgot to reply. Hence, every news reports indirectly redirects to the information published by Mary Joe Foley of ZDNet. So, I'm waiting for some encyclopaedic references.
Anyways, you are correct, the official update of Android 4.4 KitKat for any other devices other than Nexus 5 are very different, one of my friend just installed it through factory images of it that were released 2-3 days ago in his Nexus 4 (you must be knowing), I was surprised to see that it was just different from my Nexus 5 and completely matches to the image you uploaded, i.e, File:Android 4.4 with stock launcher.png.
One thing to note that the screenshot you uploaded contains an icon representing a file which is downloading and a play store logo with a tick sign in-between, in the left-corner of the screenshot.
So, I've taken a simple screenshot of the OS just after installation in Nexus 4 and posted it replacing your file. Thanks. Himanis Das (Talk, Facebook me, Tweet me) 17:10, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Viper
I thought you'd rather hear this from me than see it in your watchlist: I have moved Template:Infobox Windows component to Template:Infobox OS component. Your recent constructive edits showed me the importance of bold editing.
Now, I am not going to dive into the most controversial Mac article and put this template there, but I already have my eyes on a lot of non-controversial opportunities in which this template would reduce size, complexity and rendering time, without caveats. (See Template:OS X) As for the controversial cases, I'd put the emphasis on usefulness of the change. After all, I'd use ((Infobox goose)) in an article myself if I think it is more useful than ((infobox software)) – or vice versa.
Best regards,

You are practicing that at CryptoLocker. 5 IC on one sentence is WP:OVERCITE. 4 of them have nothing to do with the sentence. Dunklin is not mentioned in any of them. 3 of the IC are already used in the article. One of them being the one IC kept. Two IC serve no purpose at all. Find them something they can back up.

So 2013 ended with many ups and downs, starting from the release of blockbuster movies, new OSs, gadgets, cars and bikes, improve in social networking etc to meeting new friends, improving our editing skills, forming new groups.
But it also brought sad movements like the death of Paul Walker, Nelson Mandela to Cyclones like Phailin, Haiyan etc.
Finally, I'd like to conclude that several ups and downs are must in every year but we must be fearless and have faith in divine.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014.

Please see Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of AO-rated video games/archive1. It appears that there are outstanding issues left there for you to address. Good luck, — Cirt (talk) 12:17, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
I agree anti-gay is a loaded term, but that is exactly what media sources around the world are terming the Russian laws. Sportfan5000 (talk) 01:17, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm removing your 3O request on that page, 3rd opinion is really only to help end stalemated disputes between 2 editors. I see there is a RFC in progress on this subject and 4+ editors are involved, and the RFC tag will likely bring more to the discussion. Cannolis (talk) 01:59, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

No one has questioned that the law stated it was about protecting minors/children, or even that it was reported by Russia press as to stop pedophiles. The majority of critics have seen through the think of the children argument and dismissed it as largely homophobic, especially the false implication that LGBT people are interested in sex with children. Research has born repeatedly that the most likely molesters of children are straight people, and people who are friends and family members.
The international condemnation has nearly nothing to do with the aim of protecting children, it's simply false to pretend that is what is being discussed. Instead it's about inciting violence against LGBT Russians - which has already been well documented since the laws have taken effect - and shutting down all LGBT culture.
By insisting "the laws are to protect minors" Wikipedia is parroting Putin's anti-gay rhetoric, when we well know it's false. So that violates NPOV. I think the explanation in the following sentence that the laws stated concern was the protecting of minors, but that has been widely criticized, is NPOV. It presents not what Putin wants us to believe but what reliable sources has unequivocally has stated is defacto ban on "gay propaganda." Blood of innocent LGBT Russians is flowing, and people are being tortured and under threat of murder because of the law, not because they have done anything to any child anywhere. This is a serious situation and preventing these facts from being presented NPOV is only causing more real-world harm to innocent people. Sportfan5000 (talk) 06:06, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
An addition has been made to your report on that page in regards to the above issue. [1]Lihaas (talk) 14:21, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
I don't think it's written anywhere what IPs can or can't do with the GA process, but IPs can't nom for the same reason they can't review. They make one edit, disappear, and the reviewer ends up wasting their time reviewing an article no one's going to touch. Wizardman 00:05, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
