Hi Riley, I was wondering if you'd be able to help out with a research project my colleagues are running on the effects of MoodBar/Feedback Dashboard. They're trying to see if getting a response to MoodBar feedback helps newbies edit more – but to do that, they need to (temporarily) raise the level of responses to as close to 100% as possible. (Don't worry; it's only a week-long test.) If you could help me spread the word among the other FD top responders you know to help us clear the backlog by June 19th, that would be awesome! More details about this test are on this page on Meta. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to get in touch with other FD leaders about this if you want :) Thanks! Riley, thank you so much from me and the research team for your work on clearing the Feedback Dashboard backlog! You and the other responders have doubled the number of responses to feedback in the past few days. I wanted to let you know that there are just 4 more days to go until the test ends. At that point, the MoodBar will be temporarily disabled, so you won't see any new feedback coming in for a little while (this is just to get a sample of users to compare to the ones who could give feedback and get responses from you – it'll be back soon). So get all of your responding in while you can, because you might have to go through a bit of Feedback Dashboard withdrawal next week :) Thanks again, and keep up the great work! Hello Riley Huntley. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding Levi Cole Poulsen, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3) and articles created through the Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), pure vandalism (G3), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Best regards, Cindy(talk to me) 20:22, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

I think I need a second opinion from someone who also knows what's going on here. The user appears to not understand the experiential expectations for adminship or bureaucrat nominations. I don't really have a problem with them nominating themselves and finding that out for themselves. However, I've noticed the editor editing under an IP too (e.g. responding to your question here. Again, it's a new user, so I'm not necessarily concerned, because they might've forgotten to sign in. What bothers me is that they are clearly trying to use two accounts per this edit to support his own nomination when the user already expressed support under their own username. This kind of behavior is never OK, even if these RfA/RfB/whatever aren't going anywhere. I'm thinking a warning on their talk page is needed right now, and should this kind of socking continue, I think this needs to go to AN/I. What are your thoughts? Hi Riley. Since the discussion there was closed, I thought I'd reply to you here. The big problem with expecting editors to have rollback rights before becoming an instructor is that it excludes a number of good instructors. Anyone who doesn't want to use rollback, or has had it taken away for any reason in the past therefore cannot be an instructor. Rollback doesn't (or shouldn't) give any additional status, it's not required to revert vandalism and if you start using it as a requirement. I personally don't want rollback and if there was a way of getting rid of it as an admin, I would - I find the button more annoying than anything else. WormTT(talk) 07:53, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

There is a proposal currently at Talk:Hell's Kitchen (U.S.) concerning preventative semi-protection on previous seasons. Please look at it and provide feedback. Thank you. Hasteur (talk) 17:10, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Congratulations, Riley Huntley! You're receiving this barnstar because you recently crossed the 1,000 classification threshold using STiki. We thank you both for your contributions to Wikipedia at-large and your use of the tool. We hope you continue your ascent up the leaderboard and stay in touch at the talk page. Thank you and keep up the good work! West.andrew.g (talk) 11:06, 5 September 2012 (UTC) |
Hi, Thanks for your help in reference to my AWB request. Having had a check, unfortunately, it seems that not all of the links have been changed. I am assuming this is because a lot of pages don't refer directly to its old name, Doctors (2000 TV series), and use something like Doctors. Would you be able to do another run for this specific term, which should clear a lot? I will then have to look again to see what is left. If you don't have time, no problems - I only need a few more edits before I can get AWB myself. Thanks for your help, which is much appreciated. Adamiow (talk) 18:18, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Riley. I think it's best to ley me decide where I post things, and if I'm procedurally wrong, I'm sure my admin colleagues wilol tell me, so I'll handle my part of this the way I think best. I have already previously left suitable comments at AIN and what takes place on my tp is to help spare Anderson any more embarrassment and pile-ons at ANI. More than enough has been said on tje ANI, several admins concur, and it could have been closed when I suggested it should. It just remains now to see if the advice will be taken. Thanks. Thanks. That always stresses me out when that happens. As mentioned on my userpage, I'm not very technological. But, I hope to make up in other ways. Thanks, again. Lighthead þ 05:29, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
So you edit on Wikispecies? There are some really uptight, stressed out people there on Wikispecies. They take it as a job. I got chewed out by an administrator of all people because I didn't really know what was going on there. I literally think that I was traumatized for about a week. Check out my talk page there. I'm under the same username, there. That was scary. Lighthead þ 01:43, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey all :). We've just deployed another set of features for Page Curation. They include flyouts from the icons in Special:NewPagesFeed, showing who reviewed an article and when, a listing of this in the "info" flyout, and a general re-jigging of the info flyout - we've also fixed the weird bug with page_titles_having_underscores_instead_of_spaces in messages sent to talkpages, and introduced CSD logging! As always, these features will need some work - but any feedback would be most welcome. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 18:19, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Are they actively processing requests on the Reviewer request page? That's almost why I didn't submit my request a couple days ago. Weird. Lighthead þ 19:04, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Hi, just letting you know that I completed all six of your file renaming requests. All requests were completely valid, and you seem decently experienced in the file namespace. May I recommend that you request file-mover rights, because you know what you're doing and it would take the tedious work off of other file-movers' shoulders, if you moved the files yourself. Cheers, TRLIJC19 (talk • contribs) 21:00, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
I have a question, since you've been on Wikipedia a really long time. If somebody has complete autocratic rule over a Wikiproject... is there a way to even report that. This person that I'm talking about; yeah he keeps those articles in line, but at what cost. It seems like no one can make any edits that don't meet with his personal approval. I don't see how that can be allowed, but it seems like he's gotten away with it for some time now. Please let me know. Thanks. I'm going to sleep right now on this side of the world (I'm not sure where you're from), so don't expect an immediate response to your response. Thanks, again. Lighthead þ 08:00, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll do that. That'd probably be best. Lighthead þ 01:18, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
