The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget due to no consensus for the status quo. Opinions are about reasonably split between retargetting to Burj and deletion, and the arguments for both options are equally compelling. It's been relisted once without further input so I don't think it's worth prolonging this further. Normally in this situation I'd simply call it no consensus and move on, but that defaults to keep which is the one action nobody wants, so instead I'm going to call this "no consensus" but retarget it as this is a lesser action than deletion. Thryduulf (talk) 18:57, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know where this comes from or if it's a likely search term. — Gorthian (talk) 22:50, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • (I refactored our comments with bullets to make them easier to read.) The problem is, this redirect could apply to many titles on Wikipedia. In the form it is, it won't get used as a link in an article, nor is it a helpful search term because of the odd punctuation. I thought it was perhaps for sorting in a category, like some name pages are (lastname, firstname is a common redirect for name lists). — Gorthian (talk) 23:44, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(not eubot). Falls between two stools, Weak delete as WP:RFD#D8. First letter O hasn't a diacritical mark but second one has. No link (I fixed one, in List_of_populated_places_in_Hungary_(F)), hits are 4 in 90 days. This does not seem to be the result of a page move, of which there have been a couple of others of 2005 that I marked as ((R from page move)) (looks like technical restrictions prevented titles with "ő"): this is from 2007. (eubot) Delete all AS WP:RFD#D8, not a Germanic umlaut. The German for Körmend, as a brief glance at the target will tell you, is Kirment, without any umlauts or letters to scatter them over, so I doubt it makes sense to anglicise a nonexistent German word. I'd like to try to get consensus on what we do with these ones with "o tilde" on them instead of "o double acute". They could kept as ((R from misspelling)) but they could be deleted as WP:RFD#D2 nonsense / WP:RFD#D8 obscure/novel synonym. It seems unlikely to me that someone on an English-language keyboard will go out of their way to find an O tilde but not an O double acute; on the other hand not everyone searching English Wikipedia uses an English-language keyboard, and some may use a keyboard with an easz-to-type O tilde but not O double acute. But primarily this is not a question of searching by typing, within Wikipedia or without; more likely such an error if it exists in the wild will have been copy-pasted into some search engine (WP's or another's); but that search engine will likely find the correct form anyway as it will do its own conversion into some canonical form when searching. This particular one has had three hits in ninety: one site I could find that uses it is this Hungarian wesite, foldhivatal.hu ("Land Registry")/ I can't really imagine why a Hungarian website would make this substitution but perhaps there was a "technical limitation" as seemed to prevent "o double acute" in Wikipedia in the early days (see ES of 2005 edit to Gödöllo): "Gödöllo moved to Gödöllő: preventing technical limitations don't exist any more"). (eubot) Delete asWP:RFD#D8. These were created as variations from the Rs at Gödöllö and Gödöllő, Hungary, the first of which I have marked as ((R from misspelling)) (The last letter is correctly "ő", with a "Hungarumlaut", not "ö") and ((R from name and country)).
