Margan (Persian: مارگان, also Romanized as Mārgān; also known as Marghān, Mārgūn, and Morghān)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Margan Rural District[4] of the Central District of Hirmand County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran.
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 207 in 45 households, when it was in the former Miyan Kongi District of Zabol County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 180 people in 52 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Hirmand County.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 219 people in 72 households.[2]
