I thought best to list off the older versions of the various Michelin red guides below and when they introduced stars, so that we can work towards some degree of completeness. In some respect this is to both recognise the often overlooked female chefs in the industry and highlight that they are so few that it's actually possible to list them in a single article. While Michelin has expanded greatly in recent years, especially in the US and in Asia, we thankfully have online sources to help find the chefs there. So here's a list of the pre-2000's launches.

• France: Single stars introduced in 1926, multiple stars introduced in 1931
• Spain: 1952.
• Italy: 1956.
• Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg): 1957.
• Germany: 1963.
• Spain & Portugal: 1973
• UK and Ireland: 1974. Frances Atkins was the first female head chef to win a star in 2003, a year ahead of Angela Hartnett. I'm pretty confident that we have all the British and Irish female chefs listed already, but I would like to check the guides between 1974 and 2003 just in case.
• Europe: 1982.
• Ireland: 1992.
• Switzerland: 1994.
• Portugal: 1995.

• PizzaMan: This is a good, well-presented list and has been substantially improved by a number of editors since it was created. Integrating it into another page would risk losing the interesting history included in the introduction. When he embarked on this enterprise, Miyagawa commented: "I'm concentrating on a project to list every woman who has ever won a Michelin star at List of female chefs with Michelin stars. It would be impossible to include every man who has won a star in a single list because of the vast numbers, and by creating the list of women, I'm trying to make the point that it shouldn't be possible for this gender either." Miyagawa is unfortunately no longer active. The notability has been properly established during the discussion on deletion. When reading CNN today i bumped into an article which states that a chef listed here strongly dislikes being on lists like this based on her gender. She was outraged (literal quote) at being named best FEMALE chef. Considering BLP we should at least mention this when placing her on this list. So i did. This list should be removed, chefs don't get Michelin stars, restaurants do. They just work at the restaurant that gets the star but the chefs themselves don't get them. Even Michelin themselves is very clear on that. So there are no Michelin starred chefs, male, female or any other grouping. Canterbury Tail talk 18:49, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
