Hi. A number of pages Ihave either seen or worked on have been vandalized with a ridiculous picture. The edit summaries all say "Squidward" on them. No one has really said anything. They have just reverted. However, I saw that Here you mentioned the squidward vandal. You are an admin. Why not just ban him. Since every single one of his edits has been exactly the same. It's probably not even a person. It might be some sort of program designed to vandalize. Could you ban him. I have already reverted a page from him, and saw sevral other revert sevral more. thanks. Thank you for semi-protecting the page Jehovah's Witnesses: Controversial Issues. It can be difficult enough to reach a consensus on such an article without having to constantly monitor these anon IP's reverting activity. Maybe now we can continue to make progress towards a high quality NPOV article. Many, many thanks! Lucy 05:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Could you please point out which specific edits you found to be vandalism in semi-protecting the Jehovah's Witnesses: Controversial Issues page? Duffer1, a party in this content dispute who was blocked the other day for his bad conduct in it, was told on his discussion page by the blocking administrator, in agreement with another poster there, that "The edits were not vandalism, they were edits you did not agree with," and nothing has changed since then. From looking at the page Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy, it says that semi-protection isn't supposed to be used to deal with content disputes. It also says that it is "not intended to prohibit anonymous editing in general," which seems to have been a main motivation behind the semi-protection request. Thanks.Petronifico 06:35, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure that the nomination was either necessary or even useful. I hope it will be possible to politely but firmly educate User:Primetime in the fact that they mergers are only saying to merge the verifiable stuff and that this explicitly excludes many of the unreferenced terms s/he refers to. AfD has often treated WP:V poorly, and I'm not really sure what to do about that. Sometimes when I write a closure statement, I make it critical of such things and intend to provide grounds for a future nomination. Somtimes, I editorially cut the article right back myself. People usually scream, but it demonstrates to people that it can be done, you know? I think WP:BOLD may be exactly what is needed. -Splashtalk 21:31, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes. When I started there were about 90 members of that category. There are now about 23... I suggested to FoN that striking up a thread on WT:SEMI seems like a good idea. I don't want to start it myself since I haven't clarified my thoughts enough to have it appear above my signature yet, but I'd certainly pitch into the discussion. -Splashtalk 01:24, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm wondering why you placed Hentai under protection using the controversial version of the article. In addition, the images being used, although now sourced, may not be considered fair use. Karaveks voice seems to imply that a "majority rule" has already been reached, but if you were to see the talk page you'll notice there is no majority, in-fact there is only 4 people disputing this so far. I ask you to place a version of the page with no images as protected until the dispute is settled for the reasons I have stated. -- Ned Scott 22:15, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

There is an anon user jumping between IP addresses and reverting pages to instill his POV, most likely in violation of 3RR. I have tried to assume good faith, but the user seems to be intentionally making up IP addresses and signing with them on talk pages, including my own. I assume it is some manner of sockpuppetry. Why did you revert my edits on List of teetotalers? I changed it so that the list was the main article for the category of Teetoalers? You would think that under the category of Teetotalers - something that includes all teetotallers - the article which list them should be the main article.

Hey,
I've installed your RC tool, but something's not quite right. When using the "quick warnings tabs", it gives "Regarding edits made during April 9 2006 (UTC)" as a headline instead of the current date. Any way to fix this?
Also, those tabs interfere with the normal edit buttons (the extra ones still seem to work, tough).

Apologies if this isn't the right place -- the right place is sometimes hard to find on Wikipedia!
As a Recent Changes Patroller, I use the anti-vandalism monobook.js script that points to your user-space. It's wonderful, and thank you very much for making it available! :)
However, the script seems to have stopped working about 30 minutes ago (e.g., about 0615 UTC on 19 April 2006). I'll mouse over a link, and I'll get the standard alt text, instead of that wonderful little preview window that I've come to rely on.
The anti-vandalism script doesn't seem to work on any page I visit. The script doesn't work for me on Firefox (my browser of choice) or MSIE (which I rarely use, but I opened it tonight just to test this). I did reboot (as a tech support person, that's the first thing I do ;) ), and the script still didn't work.
I don't know if any other folks are having difficulties.
I just wanted to let you know about this. If this is the wrong place to bring this up, please let me know and I'll post something in the proper location.
Thank you! :)

Hey, thanks for stepping in when you did regarding protection given the reignition of the edit wars. If it's too soon, no problem, but it turns out that one of the warring groups were actually 3 meatpuppets of the same user. Given that the entire edit war revolved around 4 different people trying to keep a consensus version in place, and a user with 3 meatpuppets reverting wholesale, and that the meatpuppeteer (if that's a word) has been indefinitely blocked, is there a chance we could get the article unprotected now? I recently asked for semi-protection of the Houston article on the grounds that information is repeatedly removed concerning her well-publicized drug allegations. You claimed that the article didn't warrant enough recent reverts to give it protection. The article gets vandalized— in the form of blankings— at least three-five times a day, and it continuously has to be reverted back. The vandals come in the form of anonymous IP addresses, whose only contributions revolve around protecting the reputation of Houston. Despite warnings on the talk-page and even the article itself, the "negative" information about Houston is repeatedly removed several times a day. It is becoming extremely annoying, and these fans of hers need to cease their unnecessary vandalizing. If you could offer any administrative help to resolve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated by those who check the article on an hourly basis to revert vandalism. —(Notorious4life 05:07, 25 April 2006 (UTC))
Hello!
Thank you for your comment.
1. I have a question: was your comment a response to the RfC I sent?
2. Your comment appears to be based on an earlier version of the page. "Even more atrocious than they actually had been" and "these numbers are widely considered to be inaccurate" aren't present in the present version. Nevertheless, it's very helpful of you to indicate that they shouldn't be restored.
3. Could you please comment on the actual subject of the edit war (1. whether the existence of certain quotes of disputed authenticity deserves to be mentioned and 2. whether a certain fact deserves to be included in the introductory part) and how this conflict might be solved?
--85.187.44.131 14:51, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh, OK. I wonder how you tell the difference between an edit war and a light edit conflict, though. This conflict involves the constant alternation between two versions of the page, so I've been forced to incorporate each of my edits in both versions to make sure they don't get lost in the next revert in a couple of hours. For me, this is as bad as it gets. --85.187.44.131 17:35, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

The reason this may not be working for some people is because you use the function "tnaddlilink()" instead of just plain "addlilink()" to add the statistics tab at the top. You need to make sure that people include that function in their monobook.js along with the link to your script. You can get it from Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/test-enhanced, I don't know if anywhere else has it.

Hi Voice, the templates aren't policy. They are just ordinary templates that go on policy and guideline pages. And the change I want to make isn't a major change. (All I want to do is remove the "feel free" and "be bold" advice, because newbies take it literally and try to change policy.) CBD did express his view about this several days ago. When I saw he had protected, I didn't undo it or report it, I just asked him to undo it and allow a completely uninvolved admin to decide whether protection was needed. I agree that we should use common sense as well as the policies to guide us. But when an experienced admin says "I think you may have inadvertently violated policy; please undo your admin action," we should also use common sense there, and take that request very seriously. This whole problem stems from Locke Cole's having taken ownership of these templates. He simply refuses to allow anyone to make an edit he disagrees with and he revert wars to retain his preference. The arbcom is currently dealing with his tendency to revert war, and there's an article RfC about the templates, so it'll get sorted out soon one way or the other. SlimVirgin (talk) 01:13, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Sigh. I came by to thank you for trying to defuse this nonsense, but seeing the above.... oi! For the record, on my 'refusing to be gracious enough to let another admin decide'... please see me asking another admin to decide. I did not unprotect myself because I don't think that is an appropriate response to bullying and harassment by one of the original policy violators. Instead I handed it over to someone else... so please, less with the false statements / insults? It's really starting to get a tad annoying. As to letting another admin do the initial protection... it simply never occurred to me that someone would claim that my previous comment indicated a bias or that completely unrelated edits two weeks ago constituted involvement. Frankly, both claims seem absurd to me (since I know I didn't have a 'side' in the debate), but had I anticipated the assumption of bad faith I would have let someone else handle it... as I did once the issue was raised. So... go ahead and 'take note' of my future actions. I've 'noted' incivility, numerous false accusations, 3RR violation, edit warring, unprotection of pages the person is clearly involved in, et cetera. All leading to this first encounter creating a rather poor impression. --CBDunkerson 02:24, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Secondly, I certainly don't mind you (or anyone) editing my monobook if you see problems with the code or various other things. However, I was somewhat confused by your edit to my monobook: [6] Was this some kind of technical error when trying to change something automatically rather than manually? Since you know much more about these things than I do, please take a second to correct this and make whatever change you were trying to make in the first place. Thanks for your time! EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 19:06, 6 May 2006 (UTC) P.S.- Looking through your contribs, this error seems to have occurred on many occasions when you were editing others' monobooks. first off, thanks for getting rid of lupin's pop-ups from my monobook.js; i was debating whether or not i should leave that there and figured i would and then see what happened . . . secondly, a question. after adding a bunch of your scripts, the shortcuts at the top right changed- eg, it now says "my talk page" rather than "my talk," "change preferences" rather than "preferences". It's not that big a deal, but it's a bit more cumbersome than it was before; i guess i just prefer the more streamlined look up there. which bit of code changed this? and is there some way to change it back? i know absolutely nothing about programming except the most rudimentary html and wiki-markup, so i have no idea how to figure this out for myself . . . But i'm curious as to which bit of code changed this and whether or not i can change it back. thanks again --heah 00:02, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

If your new bot is going to run automatically at all, please be sure to list it on Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approvals. Listing there is important to ensure that noone blocks you for running an unauthorized bot, and can be sued to get a bot flag. Generally they approve a trial run first, then bot status in a week ortwo, and a flag, if desired after another week or so. — xaosflux Talk 15:08, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello Voice of All - a week ago, I requested protection for the topic Dog. I requested three days (didn't want to be too greedy) but you have given (so far) seven. I didn't want to list it on the request for unprotection since I bleieve you'll unprotect it as a normal process. Please reconsider semiprotection at Romano Prodi, where there's a revert war over the KGB allegations, conducted almost entirely by IPs. If we could just get them to log in, then there'd be someone to talk to and try to bring them to the table.
The allegations are probably notable enough to mention, but the section needs to be cut down and balanced. Neither side is engaged in "vandalism", though each accuses the other of vandalism. But there's no one who'll listen; I don't think they even read the talk page, they just keep reverting each other. In this situation, in my opinion, they really should have to log in and provide some fixed target to argue with, rather than letting the article be blown about by djinn riding through the ether. --Trovatore 05:22, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
In removing the the ((db-attack)) tag, you did not offer any explanation of how the article fails to meet the criterion set out in WP:CSD: "Articles that serve no purpose but to disparage their subject." Before I have to take it to AfD, and I will, for this deletion will certainly be controversial, I would like to understand your position. Thanks. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 13:23, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I was thinking it might be time to remove the semi-protection from University of California, Los Angeles, and I probably would have done so this week. However it only took 2 days for the old vandal to return. His vandalism is to revert to a very old version. The big problem is that his vandalims isn't obvious, so other edits start editing on top of it. Someday we may get enough editors watching the page and on the lookout for the vandalism. Can you help? I've reverted it once, and if we have to do so a few more times I'll reprotect it again. It's a pity. -Will Beback 05:23, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi VoA, I just noticed that your protection thing is filling in edit summaries. For sp, for example, it fills in "massive vandalism" (or words to that effect). The problem is that these aren't always accurate: sp can be against banned users, for example, or vandalism that isn't massive. Thanks for unprotecting the Northside College Prep page--I'd written UninvitedCo about at least giving an estimate as to when it would be unlocked or what one could do to demonstrate being a "reliable editor" for the page, seeing as the body of folks who would know about the place is relatively small, and I got the sense he was either busy or disinterested; not that I could blame him for the latter, seeing as it's a small article and its existence is somewhat vain[apparently, the school's administration contacted Wikipedia about some of the antics either former or present students(I am an alum, for the record)], but in predicting that sentiment I'd specifically asked about what one could do to evince some sort of trust out of him that it would be fine to unprotect. He never got back to me, though.
That said, I'm glad someone seemingly more reasonable/less passive-aggressive took care of it.
ps: a. I too am a fan of that ridiculously addictive card game, b. your page here, out of 717,000,000 results on google for the phrase Voice of All[without quotes], comes up second and third, and c. I always thought that was a somewhat pricey casting cost given the nature of planeshift, i.e. multi-colored decks, rendering protection from one color of choice not nearly as cool as it should be.

Hi, I was working on WP:PP today and I noticed that it was very difficult to locate an article in a list in edit mode. Looking closer I noticed that it was because some signatures are unnecessarily long. For instance, this is what yours looks like in edit mode:
'''[[User:Voice of All|<span style="color: blue">Voice</span><span style="color: darkblue">-of-</span><span style="color: black">All</span>]]'''<sup>[[user_talk:Voice_of_All|<span style="color: blue">T</span>]]|[[Special:Emailuser/Voice of All|@]]|[[WP:EA|<span style="color: darkgreen">ESP</span>]]</sup>
Especially when what I'm searching for is a short article name in a long list, the effect of your signature (and I welcome the work you do on WP:PP, don't get me wrong) is to make it very difficult.
Would you consider reducing the size? Are the email and Esperanza links necessary, given that you can put the Esperanza link on your user page and the emailuser function is built into the user interface? --Tony Sidaway 23:10, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I asked for the Josip_Broz_Tito page to be fully protected in hopes that the person putting in unfactual information would discuss the issue or go away (I put a basic summary on their Talk Page) Unfortunately, they have simply moved onto another page and have ignored many comments in which I have asked them to provide evidence to back up their claims. They seem to be bent of writing either a defamitory or nationalist POV inserts which related to the figure I first mention. Can you do anything about this person? You said of the Ted Kennedy web age that there has not been enough recent activity to warrant an sprotect. In the 24 hours immediately following that post, there were 10 edits to the page, all of which were either vandalism or reverting of vandalism. Your bot that maintains WP:PP (great idea by the way) lists some pages that are not protected. There are two ways to unprotect a page. One is just to unprotect it, and the other is to delete it. If a protected page is deleted then undeleted, your bot thinks the page is protected, but it really isn't. Prodego talk 18:35, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello there,
Thank you for removing the protection from the article List of Secret Society of Super Villains members, but I'm afraid it may have to be protected again. A user is constantly reverting the page, against Wikipedia and the Comics Project's policies on naming characters. If you could put the protection back onto the article, it would be much appreciated. Unfortunately, blocking him for 1 week or 60 hours is pointless. Trust me, I know. :) He uses a dynamic IP. So blocking him just doesn't do any good. Look at this. It's the list of all of the IPs he's used. So I understand your thinking but all you can do is just wait him out. If you see him, block him for an hour. Anything more is just going to cause collateral. --Woohookitty(meow) 19:35, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

There's a lot of hatred in the world. And ultimately, we're all made to choose every day we live whether we act out of hatred, or whether we cast off that baggage and act out of compassion. And it's certainly not easy for any of us, to say nothing of people whose core ideology consists of so much hate. Really, I feel sorry for people who have nothing but their hate to fuel their lives.
And it's funny you mention trolls, because I've found it's that same process that's underway in the mind of someone who would intentionally disrupt a community with endemic deception. Such amorality and persistence is fed by an intense self-loathing - and that sounds a lot like a pathetic and horrible way to live. Anyway, I really appreciated your note - thanks for reaching out. -- User:RyanFreisling @ 16:33, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi. In conjunction with my RfA (that you voted on), I have created an editor review, to give people a chance to comment as to ways in which I can branch out or alter my contributions to Wikipedia. An RfA seems to solely focus on how one's temperament and contributions relate to how they might handle administrative powers (and the consensus on that seems to be that I'm not quite ready); the editor review opens things up a little more to a larger focus, and I'd love to hear community feedback in the sense of that larger focus, too. If you feel you've already expressed yourself sufficiently when casting your vote, then by all means don't worry about it, but if any thoughts come to mind or if you'd like to expound upon any suggestions or commentary, it would be appreciated. In any case, I appreciated you taking the time to express your opinion on my RfA, and I thank you for that. — WCityMike (talk • contribs) 19:53, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Small problem in the script; I used it tonight to close both a failed and a successful (though Taxman edit conflicted me on the successful one), and I noticed that the script is leaving the voting link when doing the close. Basically, it's doing:
'''[<link> Vote here]''' to '''[<link> Final]'''
We don't actully leave the link in when closing, however; breaking the link is supposed to be a sign (along with the backgound color, etc.) that voting is no longer open. Is there a way it could do:
'''[<link> Vote here]''' '''<tally>...''' to '''Final <tally>...'''
Basically, remove the link entirely, and the middle two sets of bold markups, and replace it with just an opening bold markup and "Final"?
Have a look at this diff to see the exact change that is made when closing. I appreciate it greatly, otherwise it works wonderfully! (Feel free to edit User:Essjay/bureaucrat.js directly, if you like.) Essjay (Talk • Connect) 03:28, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Currently, the oversight privilege has only been awarded to current members of arbcom and Essjay, who already has checkuser, (and Jimbo and Brion of course). This was due to the question being brought up on the arbcom mailing list. We decided that was the most obvious and least controversial first batch. There hasn't been much of a discussion of expansion yet–is there a need? I haven't really found much use for it yet– but I think the general feeling is that we will be more liberal in handing this out to people than we are with CheckUser. Other possibilities are former arbitrators, bureaucrats, prominent vandal fighters, and other trusted admins. I don't know if there are going to be plans to expand it for a bit now; we need to see what the demand is at. If you think you have a convincing case though, fire off an email to me and I'll forward it to the list. Dmcdevit·t 20:12, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

I have a new challenge for you; this one should be so simple you can do it in your sleep. I'd like a dropdown menu (like the ones I already have coded in my js for user/talk pages) that will show up in the edit view of RfCU, and will do a very simple task: Insert the Wikipedia:Requests for CheckUser/Indicators templates for me at the bottom of the section. (The only one not listed there is ((fishing)), because it's too long for the box.) If you could whip up something like the RfA closer, that will stick in that dropdown on the edit page of RfCU, and allow me to click "confirmed", etc. and have the template (and if at all possible, my signature) inserted, it'd be very helpful. Thanks! (Oh, and I posted some additional info on the clerk stuff on my talk page.) Essjay (Talk • Connect) 16:55, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I just want to point out that the statement which you apparently interpreted as a comment on Bush is more probably a statement about Hu Jintao, formulated as an appeal to Bush. This is a fairly minor point, but I’d like to contribute it anyway in the hope that it removes a small bit of accidental misunderstanding. (Disclaimer: Although I do currently hold views of varying intensity on Bush, Hu and KI, this note does not contain any of them and should not be construed as a statement of such views, or any kind of expression of opinion of any other person.) —xyzzyn 01:54, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
You blocked this user back in March for being an impostor. He's now come back and left an ((unblock)) template, claiming that "I assume that i was blocked after I copied someone elses userpage to use as a template but never got around to modifying it enough to accurately reflect myself. I dont believe that i deserve an indefinite block for this act as i dont even really care about having a user page i was just playing around in my page with wikipedia page design." Seems a fair enough claim - would you consider unblocking? --Sam Blanning(talk) 12:24, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey there. There seems to be a small bug in your bot, have a look at this edit. Everything looks fine, but the "Current requests for unprotection" section is suddenly missing in the table of contents. I can't find out why tho. When I edit and save the page without doing anything, it's back, as seen here. --Conti|✉ 14:25, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi Voice (is it OK to call you by just your "first" name?)
I saw you recently (last few days) left a note on some WP:TV station members' pages for violating WP policies. Although you left messages for two of them, in fact there are five who fight, endlessly revert each others' work, labelling it as 'vandalism'. Violations of 3RR, WP:Civil, legal threats, wikistalking, stupid requests for comment, harassment, much more. They've even taken the fighting to MY talk page, when they have no fight with me. These five users are User:CFIF contribs, note the mass reverts), User:CoolKatt_number_99999 contribs, note the mass reverts), User:Boothy443 contributions, note the many reverts, User:Kirjtc2 contribs, note the mass revertions, User:Rollosmokes contributions, note the mass revertions. I've tried to talk with them, I've tried mediating. Nothing works. I figured I'd ask here, since I have no power to do anything about it, and you'd already noted there was a problem. This fight has been raging for weeks, and it doesn't seem like it will ever get better. Ideas? Is it even possible for you to step in? Would you even want to step in the middle of five warring users? --Firsfron of Ronchester 14:29, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Look at Template:Rfcua (goes at the top) and Template:Rfcub (goes at the bottom). You lost me with your answer about automating the archiving process. Currently, the process is to remove the transclusion from the main page and add the name of the transcluded page plus the name of some of the socks to the /Case page. I don't know if it needs to be automated; once the backlog is cleared there should only be a few per week. You don't have to explain it to me, if you can make the tool I can learn to use it (eventually) :).
I think we added the closing templates after you left the chat. The problem was what happens if someone opens a new request on the same user; since that opens the same subpage. By adding the templates (which have noincludes in them) then the evidence in the new case shows on the main page but the evidence in old cases is hidden. It seems to work ok. The only downside is that when you try to open a new request on a previous case, the edit window is full of the old case and the editor will have to ignore that, go to the bottom, and add the new case at the bottom. I hope it will not be too confusing for people. I wonder if it is possible that if someone tries to create a new case on (for example) Lightbringer, that the script would detect the existence of /Case/Lightbringer and instead create a new case /Lightbringer-2. Then we wouldn't need the closing templates. However for long-term problem editors we would have many many subpages (/Lightbringer-16?) while currently all the cases will be visible on one page in the archive. Plusses and minuses either way, I guess. Thanks for inviting me in last night, by the way, I learned a lot. I hope I contributed a tenth of that back. Thatcher131 22:08, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

My old one User:Lar/backup/monobook.js was just a mess and I decided to start fresh, so I cribbed yours. I had to change my monobook.css to get tabbed dropdowns to work though, just including the prereq function did not work for me. I now have a lot of neat functionality!! But there is still more functionality I would like to get, like the AfdHelper stuff to help with commenting on AfDs (which I had before), and the toolbox entry for noming an article for AfD that I used to have, and adding in some additional tabs with dropdowns (I'm thinking of in addition to the warning stuff, having another tab for welcoming stuff, anon and non anon, graphical and not, when on user talk pages) and also some func to help with blocks and with closing AfDs... (for an example of some of that see user:Pschemp/monobook.js which I found nosing around looking for people to crib from... see also user:Cactus.man/monobook.js for more neat func I was playing with) Can I add functionality to my own monobook to call those sorts of functions or do I have to take a copy of the functions it calls (which all are yours) and hack it in there? Put another way, for tabs, can I safely add more tab add code in a different place without it munging things up? Adding toolbox entry code should be easy enough. (please don't read this as a request to go edit my stuff like you did before, I need to get better at this myself)
Some sort of call tree that shows how all your code interrelates might be a helpful thing to add to your writeup on the UsefulJS page... Feel free to refactor this to somewhere else if this isn't the right place to talk about this. I'll watch this page as is my wont.++Lar: t/c 15:46, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
(out)I think all of the above are red herrings. I think the problem was in this invocation which I thought I needed (or maybe I did at one point till you changed something): User:Voice_of_All/Dropdown/monobook.js... the js console in firefox when I patched my monobook up enough in ie to run (sort of) gave this:
Error: illegal character Source File: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Voice_of_All/Dropdown/monobook.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s Line: 1 Source Code: #REDIRECT [[User:Voice of All/Dropdown/monobook.css]]

One more task to throw in your already overburdened pile: Could you add something to the checkuser.js that will remove <noinclude>((Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Inputbox/Sample/Tag))</noinclude> if it apppears on the page? I keep forgetting to remove it, so it'd be helpful if the script could do it automatically. Is that possible? Essjay (Talk • Connect) 18:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Basically, it's a tag that is added automatically when the page is created that says "Don't forget to put this page on RFCU" and adds the page to a holding-pen category, so we know if any are created but not listed. When I give a result, if the tag is still there, it should come off, since it's clear at that point that it's been listed on RFCU (the whole point of the tag). I keep forgetting to remove it, so I figured, why not have the script do it, since I'm going to be using the script on the page anyway. :) Essjay (Talk • Connect) 19:48, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Your heightened "wikisense" about user Primetime was correct. I give the nod for "first to tag as a vandal" to user:RickK,[15] but he's not around to collect. There are many lessons to be drawn - one is that follow-through is a necessity. Many folks complained about edits and even tagged this guy as a bad user, but that didn't stop him. Outright plagiarists like this guy are less than .1% of the copyvios, but they are the most persistent and unrepentant. There are several theories about his motives or reasons, and it's an ongoing case, so some analysis is worthwhile. Anyway, assume good faith but trust your instinct. When it comes to info that could harm this project, living people, or, (now) companies, we should err on the side of caution. Cheers, -Will Beback 11:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I was just wondering if the edit analysis you posted on my RfA is accurate? If I'm reading it right, it says "analysis of edits (out of all 4416 edits shown of this page): Notable article edits (creation/expansion/rewrites/sourcing): 0.61% (27)" How can I have written 24 articles, (plus 1 article translated, several stubs started, some stubs expanded, sourcing, etc.) and only have 27 notable article edits. That can't be right.
Less importantly: It says I marked less than half my minor edtis as minor. What is the criteria here? I was given to understand that minor refers only to "spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearrangement of text", which I take to mean that adding, deleting, or changing even a single word (as opposed to rearranging for format) is not minor. Is there a different criteria, and should WP:HEP be clarified? Then it goes on
which is 128.09%... (Even the first three come to 101.98$, I don't think that could be a rounding error given the precision of the constituent values.) These last two are not a big deal, I guess, but thought you'd want to know. Also, the first is not a big deal for me personally in my RfA, just thought you'd want to know about (or perhaps explain if I'm reading ti wrong, if you have the time?) Herostratus 18:03, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Uh, not warning vandals... I'm not sure what you mean? It says here ("editors cautioned" and "editors warned" near the bottom) that I've used the warning templates about 46 times, which granted is not a lot. (Of course, the you-will-be-blocked templates aren't a lot of use to a non-admin.) I usually do use the templates, and try to never revert clear vandalism without posting a caution or warning to the user's talk page. I haven't done much flat-out vandal fighting lately, guilty as charged. Working on pedophilia-related material requires me to recharge my batteries with some plain old article editing, and I don't have all the time I would like to do all the things that should be done.
Neither my machine nor my reflexes are that fast, and doing RC patrol I usally find that the problem's already been fixed by someone else by the time I get there. There are many RC patrollers, granting that there are not enough, but anyway I tend toward short page review, which gives an occasional page that has slipped through that needs speedying or whatever and doesn't require instant reaction. If I'm made an admin I will do more straightforward vandal patrol of course, but still not a lot of it.
And yet, it appears at least possible that I broke Squidward, if that counts for anything, assuming some complicated stuff which I won't go into here is accurate. And I made a nice set of graphics for the Counter-Vandalism Unit. So, like the doesn't-know-copyright thing, I'm not seeing where this soft-on-vandalism thing is coming from.
This whole thing frost me, basically, because this is from just regular editors without an agenda. I have numerous enemies who haven't even come out the woodwork yet (excepting Hipocrite), which if they do will most likely sink me. I don't think you can fight for the 'pedia and not collect enemies, if you have a found a way to do I'd love for you to tell me your secret, or better yet come down to WP:PAW and help out.

I moved most of the discussion to the talk page, so the main Clerks' Noticeboard can have the requests from checkusers rather than boatloads of discussion. Its a boldness, and I hope it makes things easier for us. If the watchlists don't work out, it the talk may have to be moved to yet a different page, but for now I think it looks pretty good. Kevin_b_er 03:19, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Would you please look at the discussion on Wikipedia talk:Requests for checkuser/Clerks/Requests? Your last change to Rfcub broke it. I don't know why, but the templates only work when subst'd (which is fine with me). Your recent change seems to have removed the /noinclude from Rfcub so that archived requests were not being hidden. For example, I just tested Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Peter morrell, which was archived by Skrikeit tafter you made your change, by tanscluding it to my sandbox, and the whole thing appeared. I reverted your change and re-substituted it and now it is fine. Test Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Kurt Leyman yourself, which I haven't fixed. Using your version of Rfcub, it doesn't work whether subst'd or not. (as well for Thomist and Dabljuh).
I thinnk it has something to do with the split include only and noincludes which are needed to allow the template itself to be included when transcluded. These things are not needed if we just subst the template. If you want to figure out how to make it work when not subst'd please triple-check before leaving it. I've also built a sandbox for testing, the links are on my user page. You can test the templates in my user space if you want. Thatcher131 11:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Is that really complete? Mackensen blocked 3 ranges, but he didn't yet complete or respond to the other two requests. Essjay moved it to completed because Mackensen was covering it, but it's not really finished, so shouldn't it stay on the main RFCU page? --Rory096 23:24, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I have a suggestion for the non-admin RC patroll thing. I think, in the new user log, there should be a script similar to the ARV script that adds a [report] button next to each name if it needs a username block. It will report that user to AIV and the reason will be "username", so you don't have to fill in a reason. Or the buttons should be [report username] and [report custom]. And, for the admin JS, the JS should make it so instead of the block link linking to Special:Blockip/Example User, it should link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Blockip/Example_User?wpBlockExpiry=indefinite&wpBlockReason=username.. , so admins don't have to fill in everything. --GeorgeMoney T·C 00:09, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi Voice of All,
just for the record, it took full 8 (eight) minutes until the first full-blown vandalism after you unprotected the article Opus Dei.[19] So far for "hopefully, protection is no longer necessary." As this article currently is in a mayor overhaul and is even subject of a formal mediation, I would recommend re-(semi)protecting the article. --Túrelio 06:09, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I'm wondering about the semicolon your bot added to Jaranda's signature here. Is that some kind of bug in the Wikipedia software, or in the bot? Forgive my ignorance of technical matters. AnnH ♫ 09:19, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi VoA, your bot just left me a note [20] saying I hadn't provided a protection summary for Monkey when I semi-protected it. However, I did provide a summary [21] and also added it to WP:PP, where I left another summary. [22] Not sure what else it wants me to do. :-) SlimVirgin (talk) 09:33, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

I tried adding:
// Admin rollback tools document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Voice_of_All/Specialadmin/monobook.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>'); //
to my monobook, but after hard-refreshing, I couldn't seem to find any sign of functions or for that matter blue bars (but that is seasonal). Any ideas? Ian¹³/t 20:47, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Nearest as I can tell, the admin-style revert is broken. It stalls at getting the edit form. Doesn't work in the mozilla suite or the latest firefox. Firefox' JS console says that "l = form.getElementsByTagName('textarea');" holds the error "form has no properties" from the function RevertStepThreenorm(), in User:VoA/monobook.js. It'd probably take me a good while to figure out what's going wrong, since I didn't write any of it. Hope you can figure out what's going wrong. Kevin_b_er 23:06, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Voice of All, It was myself who requested that the FC Barcelona article, be protected against the edits of an unregistered user. However I notice that the unregistered user version is the one that has been left. This version goes over the recommended article size and contains inaccuracies. At least two other editers are in dispute with this unregistered user. If you check the history of this article you will find that I have been a major contributer to this article as well as other articles on Spanish football. PS I thought protection enabled registered users to edit ! Djln --Djln 21:43, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
How "nice" it is to see that a child, 19 years old, such as yourself, finds it appropriate to delete an article about a great man who has spent vast amounts of time, effort, money and other to do good for his city and and the soldiers who were being treated there during the war. A man who will also be remembered as a wonderful musician and enteratainer who filled the city hall to the last seat on every concert he held there. WHAT JUSTIFIES YOUR ACTION?! So YOU consider him an unremarkable person!?! So what?!?
Hey, a little while back you editted my monobook and put the following script in:
document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:VoA/monobook.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>'); //
Well the code did work up until today where I've realised everything that was on Wikipedia such as the pop-ups, Live Spellcheck and Watchlist monitoring etc, is no longer there. I click on the link http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:VoA/monobook.js and find the monobook no longer exists. Is there anyway I can get the code back using a different monobook because the Live Spellcheck and popups were very useful. Please reply on my talk page if that is OK with you. - Erebus555 14:32, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

As per the "Important Note" under WP:PPOL#Uses, the semi-protection of 2006 FIFA World Cup has been removed. This article is currently high-profile and is linked on the main page. Therefore, it will often become a target for vandalism. It is not appropriate to protect pages in this case. Instead, consider adding them to your watchlist, and reverting vandalism yourself. Hi, I hope I am doing this right. I don't know exactly where to report this. There is a user who goes by 'baseballbaby' who seems unclear as to what vandalism is as opposed to (admitedly) poor edits. Judging by his/her talk page I am not the only one who feels this way. S/he seems new at monitoring vandalism. Hi, there. Could you please un-semiprotect Talk:Steam (band) so we can get the response of the IP in a compromise offer to settle the issues on the article itself? It makes it difficult to communicate, otherwise. Thanks. Cowman109Talk 16:02, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
I requested semi-protection for this article yesterday, but you felt the acticvity hadn't been sufficient to justify semi-protection. There has been more activity today, and in fact I've just lost the revert war with the IP (without logging in myself). He is still pushing the POV that vampires exist, without citing reputable sources, he is inserting parenthetic comments about the article and other wiki contributors in the body of the article, and he is deleting even the mention that his version of the "vampire" events is a version and not simply THE truth. I'd be grateful if you could intervene, or maybe ask more patrollers to deal with the issue, because I can't cope with this alone. --Anonymous44 17:23, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I've had a few people come to me with problems installing some of my tools, which I think can be traced to them having them installed already with VoA/monobook.js but not realising it. Double installations often cause problems. Please could you prominently warn people against this wherever the instructions for that js file are? If it's not already there, it may be wise to list all the tools that are installed. Thanks, Lupin|talk|popups 23:09, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the help. I know what you mean about it being a user page, but I feel better knowing that while I'm away, fellow users won't check out my info and see messed up bars and declarations of supposed gayness. Also it's one less page that fellow editors need to worry about reverting vandalism. It's not just the one user page, he's doing this to multiple users associated with the same articles. He allied himself with User:Wiki-star during a dispute, and has apparently chosen to "fight" us by messing up our talk pages and any articles we watch. Onikage725

Continued vandalism on this since it went unprotected. Apparently one editor made it look like it was protected for a short time, and the vandal got an account and started vandalizing again. 3RR got that account permabanned as it was a vandal-only account, but we discovered the protection wasn't real, and he just started using anonymous IPs again. Trying to build consensus on the talk page and figure out what to do. Your input would be appreciated if you have the time. I've no idea why a vandal would waste this much time on a single article, but we're having a tough time of it.--Rosicrucian 14:16, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Dear Voice of All, as a courtesy to you and to comply with WP:CIVIL, I am notifying you that I have listed an appeal against your decision to deny page protection for the Tweenies article on wikipedia. Hi, Voice. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi wasn't actually locked, only semiprotected, and semiprotection does seem to have been of benefit to it. I don't believe for a moment that the anons editing it before I sprotected were bona fide new users; I think they were regular editors logged out, who had an interest in making both the pattern of their edits and the article history more confusing. Compare my reason for semiprotecting in the first place. It's a controversial subject, edited by several people who are at Wikipedia for no other purpose than to input their POV in the Transcdendental Meditation-related articles. And you see the edit warring anon who turned up as soon as you unprotected..? In short, would you mind if I sprotected again? Bishonen | talk 13:37, 6 July 2006 (UTC).

Hi, did you forget to unprotect this page? Thanks Arniep 19:27, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Why did you delete Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Prometheuspan? As far as I know, Essjay wanted us to keep all the checkuser requests, even the ones that are declined. It also had a prior case, so if you really want it deleted you need to delist it from /Case. Thatcher131 20:15, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Please don't unprotect pages on Portuguese royalty or the Pretender page that have been semi-protected, for the moment. One user called Manuel de Sousa has been using IPs et al for over a year now to doctor pages to insert dodgy claims that some woman was the illegimate daughter of the second last Portuguese king and so she and her heirs, not the actual heirs, are the real pretenders to the throne. They have been blocked and reblocked over and over again. A host of users have found themselves reverting the vandalism often daily, on occasions hourly or by the minute. Because as de Sousa jumps between IPs blocks on their own doesn't stop it.
In the end the only way those dealing with this asshole have had to try to stop it is to semi-protect the pages for a while; long enough for the asshole (who seems to work for the so-called pretender and is trying to use WP to promote their 'cause') to give up and go away. The page listing protections have notes telling people to leave them locked for the time being — the pages aren't edited by anyone but him: most are obscure, so no-one is being inconvenienced. But then, after a short time someone innocently unblocks one or more of the pages, de Sousa sees it, comes back and the whole farce begins yet again. You have (innocently) unblocked one of the pages. Luckily de Sousa didn't notice that it had been unblocked yet. Otherwise round 40 of the edit warring would have started. *sigh*. Please in the cases of Portugal royal topics, leave the pages protected for the moment. We have had a year of vandalism from that asshole (who not only tries to POV the page but does it in garbled English, so not only is it agenda-pushing, but it is garbled agenda-pushing!!!). A lot of users are fed up daily cleaning up de Sousa's mess. Semi-protecting seems to be the best way to fell the idiot to fuck off. Hopefully it will work and we will finally see the back of the nutcase and his flaming endless quotes about 18th century documents, Vatican tribunal rulings, yada yada yada *yawn* FearÉIREANN\(caint) 01:11, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

There doesn't seem to be any conceivable problem here. If, against all odds, an edit war were to break out again, it's much simpler to replace a tag than to debate against well-meaning WP editors and force them to accept your decision.--Nectar 09:21, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Can you provide a good reasoning why you semi-protected that page? You might recall that the foundation issues say that anyone may edit. Do you now disagree with that? Kim Bruning 20:01, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi, could you check what your bot User:VoABot is doing on Rajput? It's apparently trying to protect it from the Rajput vandal, but instead it is actually reverting to the vandal's version, preventing User:ImpuMozhi and myself from de-vandalizing it. Thanks for your attention. --Scabbers the Rat 13:42, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
First of all, I like the tool, esepcially its checking that the most recent edit is by the vandal to avoid double-reverting. One feature that would really help would be a box for non-standard text - sometimes I want to revert a possibly-good-faith (but unhelpful) edit by a new user without calling them a vandal, or just generally be more descriptive. Pseudomonas 21:34, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi, after you unprotected the page, a large chunk of text was deleted. I tried to restore it, but your bot reverted the change. Could this text be restored please?
Hi, I am Manuel de Sousa and my real account was blocked because accused me of vandalism but this is not true. I defend only the objective hystorical truth based on offcial documents. In Portugal there are many pretenders but many people here want the knowledge of only one pretender, Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza. But also another pretender there was and this is Hilda Toledano and now Rosario Poidimani. This was daughter of the king Charles of Portugal and this is also write in the definitive sentence of Sacra Romana Rota. So the doubts of many persons here about if Maria Pia is daughter of the King were only their doubts because the documents affirms that she was daughter. She is considered pretender and also Rosario Poidimani for many Portuguese monarchists. I wrote to Jtdirl page this : "I wrote only objective and documented facts. If you write "impostor pretender" in Maria Pia page or fake pretender in "pretender" page this is NPOV affirmations. You can't write this. Infact I don't understand why you continue to insert the name of Maria Pia of Braganza and Rosario Poidimani as false pretender to Portuguese Crown in wikipedia page as the voice "pretender" and "Hilda Toledano". The pretension of these pretenders has value for many portuguese monarchists, historians, Tribunals so if you define these pretenders as false or impostor this is a defamation, so please have the courage of your words and indicate me your real name and address so I am sure dom Rosario Poidimani will bring an legal action against you and you will be able to explain your convictions and diffamations in a Tribunal. Many monarchic associationes consider Rosario Poidimani a pretender [28],[29],[30]; many famous hystorians [31]; the most historian portuguese encyclopedia consider Maria Pia as pretender[32],[33] and in many sentences of international Tribunals [34],[35]. So please stop with this partial consideration about false o impostor pretender. Your considerations, also if you are an administrator here, have no objective value and so please reinsert Rosario Poidimani as true pretender in pretender page and delete impostor pretender in Maria Pia page. So please explain me where I can see that these pretender are fake. What are sentences of Tribunal that states this? For many monarchist this pretender is the lawful pretender so please reinsert this pretender as true pretender. At the contrary I must advise all the other admistrator about this abuse of power. Can explain me why you don't insert in Duarte page his opposition about his claims? Is not convenient for the objective truth? "
Infact I don't understand also because they don't want write in Duarte Pio page the opposition of him claims. This is not impartial method in an encyclopedya. You are the most important administrator here so PLEASE take part in this discussion and insert Maria Pia and Rosario Poidimani as true pretender in pretender page and delete impostor pretender in Maria Pia page and insert opposition claim in Duarte Pio page and rewrite in impartial way Maria Pia page. For example I don't understand because they use the name Hilda Toledano if in all her official documents states as Maria Pia de Saxe Coburg Braganza [36],[37]. They put in the mind of the people only doubts but without certainties because their words are not proved or documentated , at the contrary when I write is only documentated words. This article in not NPOV and is not impartial. Please help me. I ask only this: the impartial truth and not the Duarte Pio supporter truth. Thanks! Please see also the official wiki page in portuguese language about the duke of braganza where Maria Pia is considered Maria Pia Saxe Coburg Braganza (only a.k.a. Hilda Toledano, but not her most famous name, it is only a pseudonym wneh she was a writer). Many monarchists considered her and now Rosario Poidimani as lawful Portuguese pretender . See [38] Thanks! Hi, also one of the most famous newspaper in Portugal "Destak" [39] of today 14 July 2006, in the page 5, tells about the portuguese succesion and mentioned dom Rosario Poidimani as pretender and Dom Duarte Pio as an illegitimate pretender for his exclusion from the last monarchic Constitution. This affirmation was an affirmation of the president of the P.P.M. The only Moanrchic Party in Portugal. So please again reinsert Rosario Poidimani as a true pretender,Maria Pia as true pretender and Duarte Pio opposition in his page. Please reply Manuel de Sousa, 14 July 2006 (UTC)82.54.244.85 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) In particular: One of the most famous portuguese newspaper, the “Destak”, http://www.destak.pt/default.asp , today 14 july in the page 5 entitled: “ Royal War divides portuguese monarchists” and writes about the war between portuguese pretenders. Many supporters of the pretender dom Rosario Poidimani claim the legitimate rights as Duke of Braganza of this italian prince after the abdication of the last daughter of the king Charles of Portugal. Many of these monarchists attacks the pretender Duarte Pio of Braganza because the last monarchic constitution of 1838 excluded perpetually dom Miguel and all his descendant (of which Duarte Pio is one) and also because in really Duarte Pio of Braganza born in Swiss territory of Berna and not in the portuguese ambassy of Berna (because in 1945 there was the “Banimento” Law) and so he is a Swiss without power of succession for the last monarchic constitution. In particular the president of P.P.M., the only monarchic party in Portugal affirms the illegitimate of Duarte Pio of Braganza as duke of Braganza and also as pretender and so affirms that now Duarte Pio in Portugal is considered from most the head of the Royal House of Portugal only because the miguelist branch hides and falsifies the historical truth of Portuguese Royal House. I would like to request that 83.1992.2006 be banned from editing the FC Barcelona article and that the article be given extra protection against him. He has behaved like a vandal, continuously adding incorrect and inaccurate info to the article. His edits fail to recognise the following facts.
While inserting these edits over and over again, 83.1992.2006 shows no regard for other edits from genuine editors. Edits have to be reinserted constantly or they become lost. Despite several requests from myself and other editors, he refuses to discuss anything on Talk: FC Barcelona and he also uses a misleading User ID. At least two other editors, Yonatanh and Bcnviajero have expressed concern about his edits. Djln--Djln 16:59, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Just wanted to give you a heads up on using the bureaucrat script to delist failing RfAs, like [40]. Be sure you alter the automatic edit summary to reflect that it's an early closure; otherwise, it may be misinterpreted as closing a full term RfA in lieu of a bureaucrat doing so. I saw it come across my watchlist and had to go check the RfA to see why a non-bureaucrat was closing it; it worries me that someone less likely to investigate and more likely to start screaming would have stirred up a lot of problem over something that really wasn't. (You know how it can be around here.) Anyhow, just wanted to drop the suggestion. Essjay (Talk) 19:39, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

He's been hitting this and other Gibraltar-related articles and their talk pages on at least a daily basis for at least the last seven months (just yesterday he vandalised Talk:La Línea de la Concepción five times). Regarding what?
I mentioned before the problems that exist with Pretender, Hilda Toledano and some related articles. The problem is simple. A user called Manuel de Souza spent months inserting widely discredited claims suggesting that a self-proclaimed illegitimate daughter of the second last Portuguese king (a kind of Portuguese version of Anna Anderson) had been the legitimate pretender to the defunct Portuguese throne, and that another guy had been named as heir by her. Most people regard the claims as 100% bullshit but for months de Souza kept doctoring articles to claim that she and since her death her so-called heir are the real pretenders and the real pretender is a fake. Endless edit wars have been fought all over Portuguese pages about this for at least a year now. Finally when Souza would not stop he was banned from the site. Now he openly admits to using IP sockpuppets to doctoring articles to continue to push the claims (in frequently garbled English which on occasion have reduced articles to gobbledigook).
As users are struggling to keep up with the vandalism, the above two articles and two or three more have had to be semi-protected. That stops them being under seige. But then some well-meaning user comes along and removes the semi-protection after a couple of days. De Souza immediately pounces and garbles them again. If we are lucky, people spot it immediately and fight a reversion war until they are semi-protected and the various new batch of sockpuppets blocked. If we are unlucky a couple of innocent users have edit after him and various users then end up digging back through the archives to try to piece together the original article with correct changes while finding all the bits of rubbish de Souza has inserted and removed them again.
Is there any other solution you can think of bar resorting to semi-protecting these articles? You would think after at least a year of this farce the prick de Souza would have given up, realised that his POV crap is not being added on to Wikipedia, and looked for some other site to use to promote his claims. (I suspect, as do others, that he works for, or is linked to, the self-proclaimed pretender, and is trying to use WP as a means to promote his cause.) The best I can come up with is to hope that if the articles are left in a semi-protected state for a few weeks he might give up and go away. Unfortunately they never get to remain semi-protected for long enough. Just when he might be tiring of waiting, someone unprotects them. He spots it, comes rushing back and starts the edit warring again. And the same bunch of users (luckily for Wikipedia they are so dedicated) end up undoing the damage and trying to find an available admin to block his various IPs and protect the pages again. Is correct to insert in Duarte Pio page the opposition to him claims because in Portugal there are many people that consider Duarte Pio not the duke of Braganza. This becauseDuarte Pio is excluded by the last monarchic contitution because he is a miguelist descendant (of the usurper king Miguel), because he is Swiss born and because he is not the most direct relative of the last king of Portugal. Infact if for absurdity had not existed Maria Pia of Saxe Coburg Braganza, the last daughter of the king Charles, before Duarte Pio there are 36 others pretenders more direct to the last king of Portugal than him. So is absurd to consider Duarte Pio of Braganza the legitimate pretender to portuguese Crown or the legitimate duke of Braganza. Why the supporters of Duarte Pio want delete and hide this important informations about this pretender? MS, 12:30, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
In an encyclopedia as wikipedia has no value the considerations because they are only personal considerations and has not objective value. Here we must insert only fact and documents and not consideration or talks. So please delete the paragraph about the consideration in Hilda Toledano/Maria Pia Saxe Coburg page because are NPOV. Thanks . MS, 12:20, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Can also explain me because you entitled this page Hilda Toledano and not Maria Pia Saxe Coburg Braganza. This woman real name is Maria Pia Saxe Coburg Braganza. This is reported in all her official documents. She used the name Hilda Toledano only as writer, and this is only a pseudonym. But here we discuss about Maria Pia for her claims as heir to Royal House of Portugal and not as a writer so please change the name of this page in Maria Pia of Saxe Cobur Braganza. MS, 12:35, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

The issue regarding this user is complex and I have been in the front line of trying to direct him towards a more axceptable behaviour. This has meant I have had to take the brunt of his "attacks". I repported him now because he has been accusing me in talk pages of pushing a pro Norwegian POV and stating that many of my contributions have been reverted. Both statements are false and are made only to discredit me. I believe that to be a personal attack. He has been previously blocked for describing other users as nationalist. I urge you to take a closer look at this users history (not only the block log), and previous Incident notices such as this one. Hope to hear from you. Inge 14:45, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Thatcher131 suggested that I drop you a line about this page[50], which consists entirely of posts by a sockpuppet of a banned user evading an indefinite ban. He said you might want to delete this just as the main page was deleted.--Mantanmoreland 04:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
The checkuser case showed that there were sockpuppets being used for WP:POINT as well as vote stacking in an AfD. Why wasn't the user banned or at the very minimum tagged as a sockpuppet? Is there something more I need to do? IrishGuy talk 04:23, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Please delete Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Mantanmoreland as an abusive request filed by two sock puppets of a banned user. Fred Bauder has made it clear on ANI and his talk page that he is not entertaining any more requests in this case. Whisky Tango (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) is a reincarnation of Whiskey Tango (talk · contribs), a confirmed sock of blocked user WordBomb, and if Barbamama (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) isn't also a sock of WordBomb, its a sock of someone else in this feud. Blocking those two accounts wouldn't hurt either. Thatcher131 (talk) 01:15, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Ah, a handy comment section on just the very topic. I notice you're a RFCU clerk, v-o-a, so I'd be interested if the pattern of editing on said article rings as many sockpuppet alarm bells for you, as it did for me. I recently tried to vandal rollback on a reversion and I was blocked because of the fact it was an AOL IP page. However, ranges within the following blocks are non-portable, although belonging to AOL:
Perhaps something can be programmed into the rollback script to ignore the AOL status of these pages.
Also, there appears to be a problem with the rollback links on IP contribution pages. Sometimes, they do not work. Ryūlóng 09:30, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi VOA, I was using your javascript tool for analysing user contributions a little while ago, and I noticed that it has been marking some edits with obvious summaries suggesting major changes as minor. See: [54], [55], [56], [57], [58] and [59]. All these are marked as superficial (in green) when they are clearly major edits. I understand that my definition of 'wikify' wrongly includes big rewrites, but edits marked with 'Major section rewrite' should really be counted as significant or notable. Its not really a priority, and I understand that the admins are very busy with backlogs around now, but if you could take a quick look at the code and maybe add a js equivalent of if(substr("rewrite",$summary[$edit]) $type[$edit]=4; (my limited php understanding of the sort of code possible) it would be good. --Draicone (talk) 09:34, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Please reinsert the name "Maria Pia of Braganza" or "Maria Pia of Saxe Coburg Braganza" in the Hilda Toledano page. Maria Pia Saxe Coburg Braganza is the name of this woman that we can see in all her official documents while the name Hilda Toledano is only a paseudonym as a writer. Here in Wikipedia we write about her claims as Duchess of Braganza so the unique real name of this woman is Maria Pia of Saxe Coburg Braganza and not Hilda Toledano. Hi Voice of All! I love your admin javascript. I have one question though. Do you think that you can allow users to set their preferences for the different text changes? For example, the script currently changes the word "discussion" to the word "talk" on the tab at the top. Do you think that you can let users pick their own text, and have it default to "talk"? (Like users could put in their monobook talktext = 'Chat'

Thanks for your prompt action on my request to lock the page. Out of curiosity, why did you tag it as a revert war instead of vandalism when one anonymous user continually deletes verified information and other registered users simply return that info to the page? Also, rkevins and myself have tried for nearly two months now to engage this person in some form of rational dialogue--not to mention posting external verification on the talk page for all of the entries with which he has a problem--to no avail. I've changed my script a bit to make it more efficient and it now checks for blank summaries, moved pages and restored pages.
I'll also make it check the list of protected pages on the wiki, but this will only be done when run with an argument like "protectedpages.py -checklist". --Erwin85 16:06, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
I identified content in this article as unsourced over a week ago. Now, I've deleted the unsourced content. Another user keeps restoring the unsourced content and has removed my tags. I've cut and paste the relevant parts of Wiki policy (both NOR and Verifiability) to the discussion page and he's ignoring it. I posted a request at the Mediation cabal for assistance. His first post on that page (the page for the Mediation cabal account) explained his position and he seemed to be okay with using this third party mediator in that first post. I then posted explaining my side. His second post on that page stated that he had no faith in the Mediation cabal. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I've seen that you have, in the past, left clerk notes at various checkuser cases, and would like some sort of input of yours at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Ryulong which was started up by a user who I had an edit conflict in the past, and he just appears to want to get me blocked for whatever he can. Cactus.man and I have left whatever information we could at the RFCU to state why it should not be run, and now we need a third-party input to see what has to be done about Nixer, as he feels that he has to make a point concerning the fact that I had broken WP:3RR, but it was decided that any sort of block would be punitive after three hours of no one touching the article. The filer of the RFCU, Nixer (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log), has been blocked multiple times in the past, tacking up more than 900 (according to my calculations 918¼) hours of blocks, including one proven sockpuppet. Nixer has exhausted more than one editors patience in his year long membership of Wikipedia, with various violations against him. As I said, Cactus.man and I need someone who has not been involved to look into this.

Please reinstate the semi-protection of the Dog article. In the less than 3 hours since you deemed it unnecessary, no less than 6 reverts have been necessary. I -- we Wiki users -- understand that Wiki should be open and gnu-ish. However, this does not extend to casual vandalism, and the Dog article takes more than its fair share. There is a clear case for permanent semi-protection, since the damage done by these vandals reflects badly on Wikipedia's credibility and child safety.

It would be interesting to have a bot do the archiving. The only thing, as it has been mentioned before, is that it would need to be able to distinguish pending requests from the fulfilled/denied ones. Just recently, a user reposted a request that EssjayBotII had archived when it reached the 48th hour on the page, even though the request had not yet been addressed. As long as we can somehow make that happen, an archiving bot for WP:CHU would be great. Cheers, Redux 03:12, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Would it be possible to be able to configure the voa monobook for peoples' needs like the popups? For example if someone doesn't want one of the tools or wants to change it a little, it would be nice to have some config, like if I wanted to remove, for example, the "since" and "csd" tabs etc.. or wanted to change the rollback summary and those things. Would this be practical or you would have to go into each script and add config and then make default settings and do all of these things which would be easier just to not add this? reverted back from 8/20 You blocked our Texas Instruments proxy IP ranges as if we vandels. I think there must be a mistake. All traffic from TI will come from 192.91.75.0-128. Several tens of thousands of employees behind those proxies. Specific IPs are for specific buildings. For example, 192.91.75.30 is educational/productivity R&D. Blocking one address knocks out a several thousand people from editting.--ZacBowling 15:52, 17 August 2006 (UTC)--ZacBowling 15:52, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
You protected this page instead of the semi-protection that was asked for. The only problematic edits are coming from users with no accounts who refuse to follow the guidelines that are documented on the article's talk page. No action was taken for 8 hours; now the page has references to outside sources that are completely inappropriate for inclusion in Wikipedia, as has been discussed on the article talk page. An anonymous user also created a vanity article to cross-reference with this one. Please change the protection to semi-protection as was requested. These are not revert wars; these are anonymous users ignoring Requests for Comments and quoted Wikipedia policy; there is no recourse other than protection to keep them from editing. If they had user accounts, the progressive steps to resolve differences could be implemented, that is not possible with users from shared AOL IPs.—Chidom talk 06:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
I thought the edit war had stopped about 24 hours ago in that article, before you protected it. I could be wrong, though. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 07:18, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
It looks like Pnatt is back at work again with these edits [67] not long after you unprotected the page. I think it needs protecting again. Also can you add the Pnatt tag to User:Myspaceaddictaust page if you agree its him, I am not sure (as a semi-newbie) if I'm supposed to do it. Ta. Teiresias84 14:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
I've been watching the Israel page, and since it's been unprotected, it's already been vandalized at least a dozen times, by my count (all within the space of 24 hours). I am not an admin, so I can't put the protection back on, but I thought would mention something to you, because it really seems to need it. (btw, I am a relatively new user, and I don't know if this comment should be here or on the Israel discussion page). Thanks. Patstuart 17:39, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I saw you close the Striver RFA. To be honest I don't know what else there is left to do. As you can see from that RFA there is what appears to me to be a community of users exhausted with having to deal with this user's contributions. He has already had two RFCs, I know a few of the articles he has participated strongly in have resulted in mediation, but he just refuses to follow consensus or Wikipedia policy. If I go to AN/I when he does something it will just get ignored or he will be given a slap on the wrist warning, if I try and stop his POV pushing in articles he just waits me out reverting every other day back to his verisons regardless of the fact that there is usually a consensus against his versions. I don't know what else to do. I think AbrCom seems now to be the only option left, but to be quite honest I am not very experienced with that process.--Jersey Devil 20:12, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
The individual who was vandalizing the page under an AOL ID has created an ID "NinjaNubian" and is now able to update and has already begun vandalizing by changing other editors input. Can you leave a msg on this users talk page that vandalism will not be tolerated and that he must respect previous work and not contribute material that is personal knowledge? I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything to you, but please don't close a non snowball RfA/RfB. That was one of the few grey area RfB's in over two years, though it was also well below the 90% that I think people are expecting now for RfB given the lack of need for new bcrats. I was evaluating it, but due to commenting in it I didn't feel it was best for me to close it myself. I think none of the bureaucrats felt comfortable calling it as a consensus to promote, so it was just waiting for another bcrat to close it. That's a perfectly valid approach to give us time to evalutate close ones. An RfA/RfB is open until a bureaucrat decides to close it, and I thought I've even seen comments from you noting that, so I was quite confused when I saw you closed it to further votes. In any case, thanks for closing the other snowball ones you did and for watching the process. - Taxman Talk 16:34, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi Voice of All,
Thanks for your interest in my RfA:
I didn't realise my involvement with Wikipedia might seem so tenuous... Would it help if I responded to your observations on the RfA page by stating that I've deliberately limited myself to certain areas – for the sake of time management – namely some article initiation, some article revision, much article/topic area development (I'd hoped the userspace pages linked from /To do would suffice to indicate), one particular area of structural debate and decision-making (WP:CfD) and, from time to time, WP:RM...? (Might minor edits be acceptable as part of article development and/or "wikignoming"/"wikifairying"...?)
Thanks in advance for your advice! Yours, David Kernow 22:56, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I would like to request that the wikipedia page on me, Eric Lerner, be protected again. Once it was unprotected, the same exact changes that led to the protection were reverted. The changes made are false and injure my reputation. This is exactly what is not supposed to be allowed in biographical entries. I request that it be protected in the same version that was protected before.
Hi, you turned down my unprotection request for Proof that 0.999... equals 1, and I don't understand what exactly you meant by "too soon". When would it be appropriate to unprotect the article, or in my case, to re-request it? (It's coming up on 5 days now.) Do we have a guideline for this question somewhere? Hi, Voice of All. You're big on this js stuff, so I thought you could solve this problem. Essentially, I tried to add some javascript to my monobook, but it broke everything for some reason [68]. I reverted back to the previous revision [69], but everything was still broke even though the revision it was reverted to wasn't broke. The diff [70], says they're the same, and the old ID of the current revision says they're the same, but the actual current revision is messed up. I've tried clearing my cache and restarting Firefox, but that hasn't helped. Thanks. -- Steel 17:21, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

I am copy pasting a blog which has media articles and pictures regarding murder of Pankaj Trivedi. All the media articles are in Gujarati - a language of State of Gujarat, India and you may not be able to see the fonts or understand them. The pictures showing fat lady in Saree is Jayshree Talwalkar. She is projected as God Mother. The pictures do contain snap of Pankaj Trivedi. The murderers. Lady with folded hand is a snap of funeral time. The Sadhu in orange cap and clothes is Swami Sachchidandji who protested against police in-action. The old man is Pandurang Shashtri Athavale. In initial two pictures and in the end you can see Jayshree Talwalkar and behind her is Bharat Bhat (in circle) who is now arrested and have confessed ploting of the murder of Pankaj Trivedi. He is one from the closest circle of Jayshree Talwalkar. Picture of Pankaj Trivedi follows the funeral pictures. The bare chested person in funeral snap is Pankaj Trivedi's son Himanshu.

Hi VoA; I need a favor. Terryeo (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) needs to be blocked for 4 days for violating his Arbcom ban against editing Scientology-related articles, and the ban logged at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Terryeo#Final decision. This is the result of an accusation at Arbcom enforcement, a checkuser request that was withdrawn when I politely confronted Terryeo and he admitted it on his talk page. There was consensus at ANI that 4 days was appropriate but no one has stepped up to impose the block, and the discussion at WP:AE is drifting farther and farther away from the main point and needs to be over. Much appreciated in advance. Thatcher131 17:44, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

This script does not properly convert ampersands (&

I noticed your changes to monobook.js, adding extra edit tool buttons. If one clicks the "Make table" button while using Internet Explorer, the browser freezes and crashes (and people to loose their edits). It works fine in Firefox. The Fraternity is the first NPHC member to have been incorporated as a national body. It is referenced here by a Official Fraternity WEbsite. http://www.kapsimwp.com/News/MW0402/MW0402.html . There is a claim that this isn't the case by user Ccson, though the claim is very specific in that it states to have been incorporated as a national body. Ccson submitted this http://mblr.dc.gov/corp/lookup/status.asp?id=6210 , but nowhere does it state that Alpha Phi Alpha was incorporated as a national body here.
Later on it was pointed out that in Wikipedia there is no original research when Ccson decided to write an email to Washington DC patent office and stated
"Here is the response from the District of Columbia Corporation department.
This letter is in response to your e-mail dated September 22nd. Corporations Division has the following companies on record: KAPPA ALPHA ASSOCIATION OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, INC. Should you have any questions, please, contact Corporations Division at (202) 442-4432 Corporations Correspondence Unit #4302
There is no record of Kappa Alpha Psi, however; that's unimportant since the incorporation date for for Alpha Phi Alpha is 2 days before the date that Kappa Alpha Psi filed for incorporation.
This information is verifable and other editors are encourged to contact the D.C. office at the phone number listed above to confirm. Please update your findings in this section. Ccson 03:07, 30 September 2006 (UTC)"
Original research..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:NOR
Original research is a term used in Wikipedia to refer to material placed in articles by Wikipedia users that has not been previously published by a reliable source. It includes unpublished material, for example, arguments, concepts, data, ideas, statements, or theories, or any new analysis or synthesis of published material that appears to advance a position — or, in the words of Wikipedia's co-founder Jimbo Wales, that would amount to a "novel narrative or historical interpretation".

If you notice that an IP address belongs to a hacked server like 24.60.181.235, it should be blocked indefinitely as a zombie proxy/open proxy, tagged with ((Zombie proxy)), and listed under Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies#Blocked. This way, someone will be able to have it blocked on all of the other projects when that list is dumped to Meta. Zombie proxies are considered a type of open proxy, and therefore fall under WP:NOP. Can you use commas to separate names on WP:RFCU/Case rather than semicolons? There is no particular exact reason, just that you seem to be the only one adding them with semicolons, while everyone else was adding them with commas. In fact, we made them all that way. You picked up on the archiving format rather quickly. Also apologies that since I knew you used a script I should've told you all the details of the new formatting the moment we started on it. One more thing, duplicate requests add rowspan=2 (or 3, etc) in front of section link. Rather difficult to describe with words:
|- |rowspan=2|[[Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Arthur Ellis|'''Arthur Ellis''']] |[[2006-07-22]] |Marie Tessier, Ceraurus, 64.26.147.188, 64.230.36.153, 206.191.39.221, 206.191.56.34, 209.217.119.184, 209.217.93.40, 209.217.75.243, 70.51.52.253, 209.217.124.37, 206.191.33.120, 219.209.48.150, 209.217.99.125, 64.26.147.188, 209.217.93.40 |- |[[2006-09-16]] |Craigleithian, 209.217.96.46
With the second entry (new ones at the bottom) rowspan=2 appeared. I suppose there's an implied rowspan=1 on all of them. Take note of the | between rowspan=2 and the link. Each entry would likely just be an increment of the number, with |-, |YYYY-MM-DD, and |List of puppets for each one, with no empty lines between each entry of the same page/person. (Though there is empty lines between different cases). If need be to help your script, which I don't know the full level of automation on it, I could add rowspan=1 for all entries so all it has to do is increment the number. I don't know whether you noticed, but within two and a half hours after you removed the semi-protection on this page, it was vandalized again. For some reason, the Napoleon I of France article is a real magnet for vandals, and you might want to consider restoring the protection. Thanks for your interest. --Russ (talk) 09:57, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
As there was some minor bugs in your collection, I decided to copy the code and fix them my self, as I was doing that, I decided to make some changes, see User:AzaToth/VoA.js and User:AzaToth/Revert.js →AzaToth 10:04, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
It looks like 88.218.61.254 (talk · contribs) seems to have slipped the bot's detection. Is there any way you can fix this? —Khoikhoi 16:02, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, is it on now? He keeps reverting. —Khoikhoi 20:36, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I noticed that VoABot hasn't been clearing completed RFPP requests over the last 24 or so hours. Just figured I'd tell you.
Also, I'm not really sure whether you'd be interested, but we need a bot to archive requests in WP:AN3. AN3 tends to get very long, and would likely be difficult to load over dialup. There's general agreement that reports should remain on there for about 2-3 days and then be archived. I've tried to configure Werdnabot to do it, but I suspect that I'm missing something. It'd be nice if no human involvement was involved in targeting the archive pages (Werdnabot would require us to change the target of the archiving every new archive.), which is why I'm asking you. Sadly, the same fraudulent author who said he was a Fr. Aereld, Mgr. Roux himself, a Ms Littieri, has now - in the same writing style - said he is a Vietnamese immigrant, continuing his lies and destroying and vandalising the article. Please re-protect it. It is necessary!Smith2006 18:53, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
As requested example page created for modifying the test template. WP:RFP. I would also like to start bringing in line a few of the other templates, if you are ok with this one. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 10:32, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, can you add two more articles to the bot's watchlist? (OTE and Vivodi Telecom). Thanks. —Khoikhoi 17:55, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I noticed that your bot, in its edit summary, says "...to last version by "User"." As a grammar freak, I would like to politely correct that the user's name does not need to have quotation marks around it, as it is only a name. Also, if you insist on having the quotes there, then the period belongs inside of them. Thank you! Reywas92Talk 21:06, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I just wanted to know if it was really necessary to remove the table from the template. I actually prefer having the table, because it separates the template from the rest of the user talk page. Would you mind if I changed it back? Nishkid64 23:01, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi Voice of All, would you consider approving MetsBot's 4th task? It's been sitting for 3 days with no response now. Thanks in advance. —Mets501 (talk) 00:19, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
The Transnistria page you un-semiprotected a week ago [85] is currently under attack again. Requesting intervention. --Illythr 21:24, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Since you lifted semi-protection on Plains Indians vandalism has resumed. This article has been a vandal magnet for months. I should be grateful if you would re-establish protection, that needs to be kept on for much longer. TerriersFan 23:57, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
You seem to have boxed-up too much in the archiving. —75.18.113.152 21:20, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
The changes reverted appear to be perfectly good edits. Perhaps the name of Colin Newman's new project being 'Githead' caused the problem?--Michig 17:20, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Could you block the IP address 68.60.71.112 [[86]]? Whoever that user is keeps adding insightful comments such as "Because zuko is gay," "And shes hot and has big boobs," etc.
supposedly I have been indefinately blocked because someone using the name Js2Jo (sic) using my IP address has been accused of false statements etc, there is no one in my home that uses any names like that, I just moved into this home in June 2006 and am on Road Runner I just signed up for wikipedia tonite becasue a friend sent me a link to a page called Edgewood Arsenal Experiments, it was filled with errors, and I sepnt 2 hours getting the links to public domanin government reports and studies on the health of the veterans used there from 1955 thru 1975.
The reason I would like to see accuracy on the page, is that I am one of the 7120 men used in the "medical reasearch program. 40% of the men are dead and of the 4022 survivors 54% of us are disabled and the DOD and the VA will not address the harm caused by the experiments.
How do I get my IP address unblocked so I can post, it says it has been blocked by Jarandra or something similar but when I click on his name it says there is no page, so I can't ask them to lift the block. How do we fix this?
I am an old infantryman, and am not real knowledgabale about the ways of the internet, I post on Daily Kos as testvet6778 Help please thank you Mike Bailey
Hi VoA - I just got a message from your VoABot and replied on its talk page, then realised that the talk page of a bot is a silly thing to comment on... so... well, there's a message over there :) Grutness...wha? 05:34, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
May I ask: what's the purpose of listing each and every semi-protected template on a page? Rather a case for WP:BEANS I would say (or do you intend to give a list for vandals?) Do you want to encourage anons to edit stuff like template:Infobox Muscle? I also don't see what's the purpose of bot spam messages like these. But I will in future add a protection summary to make your bot happy. Best regards, --Ligulem 14:21, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, what I did was change one form of protection (write and move) to move only, which is the level to which I had said on the talk page that I was going to be protecting it to. If you check the link you provided, that makes it very clear. So although that change had no comment, it was only a few minutes after a protection which did explain what was going on. It's also listed on WP:PP. Grutness...wha? 05:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Hiya, one of my edits was reverted as "Vandalism", though all I did was add a wikify tag and a "Living people" category.[88] Please tweak your AI, thanks. --NovaSTL 10:54, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello. Your bot reverted Dragon red I had checked for vandalism using VP2. The edit had involved a user formatting 2 links to external sites into a correct format and creating an External Links section in the article. The actual links were inserted more several months and several edits previous to this. The bot actually reverted a much more preferrable version of the page in this case. I just wanted to say thanks for protecting those pages for me. They are constantly vandalized. It gets quite annoying. I had to add another to the request list because I can't keep track of all of the vandalism. Thanks. --Mikedk9109 (talk to me) (watch me) 01:05, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Looks like the banned user in question finally twigged to the fact that the Death Valley Driver Video Review article was unprotected and is at it again. Could we get it re-semi-protected (I know there's not much we can do to get him to stop because he's using AOL proxies? SirFozzie 04:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Why exactly you keep reverting the Johnny Gomez article?
Could Habbo Hotel be protected against IP addresses and new user accounts? There are numerous IPs, 172.143.101.138, 195.93.21.137, and 194.83.209.102 that are inserting in general nonsense again and again. Uncited statements, weasel words, linkspam, etc. Thanks, Seicer (talk) (contribs) 17:08, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Greetings would the owner of this bot kindly fix its tendency to revert error correction edits? (ie: Fethullah Gülen). Thanks. (→Netscott)
Hello,
You recently were helpful getting my bot User:CopyToWiktionaryBot through the various hoops. Thank you. A suggestion came up on a subpage's talk page of CAT:MtW, suggesting that I append ((Transwikied to Wiktionary)) to the talk pages as they are completed. I'd like to start doing this also as part of that bot task. I also plan to run that sub-task for the couple hundred that have already been done. Do I need to submit a new request for it? Thanks in advance.

Hello there! Sorry to bother you, but could you please reinstate long-term protection on the Julius Caesar article? I think in the very short time since you removed protection we've seen how things would keep on going in its absence. --Nehwyn 16:38, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Any chance I could be added to Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies/verified users? Been confirming some myself[90]. And there's the occasional backlog there too. Thanks.--Andeh 17:35, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
You or your bot reverted vandalism which was not vandalism, but a badly formatted contribution. [91] Please be more careful in future. Poorly judged reverts like this one can mean the loss of new contrributors. —Pengo talk · contribs 02:27, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello! I hope you are feeling fine. Recently, you expressed an oppose opinion with regards to my RfA. I would like to thank your feedback on this but I need another critical feedback from you. If you could spare a few minutes to voice any concerns you may be having with regards to my contributions to this project since my last RfA on this page, I would be most grateful. Comment on Wesley's last sermon removed. Why? DaveA1948
Can you please stop this reposting messages where they have been removed? This, in my opinion, is talk page spamming, and I was tempted to block it last time it happened. Rebecca 01:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
It sems that you are receiving too many complaints from your bot. I may add more. Obviousy it is not too smart to be operated without human supervision or human supervisor is not smart as they think. There are too many different vandalbots running around amok lately. Time to unify. You bot drivers go together and discuss the issue, or I will write a bot that will run and revert all bots on sight. Last time I have more troules with cleaning after bots than after real vandals. `'mikkanarxi 16:34, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
