Copyright issues related to image i uploaded
I had uploaded images on few articles like beast, Kgf, jagame thandiram, etc. A guy has put some deletion on it saying it has copyright issues. Can you please help in this. It is on my talk page. MNWiki845 (talk) 14:27, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
@MNWiki845 Copyright is vast area but I'll try to explain the basics. Seems that you've been uploading non-free images so that you can use them in the articles. However, only one non-free image is allowed in infobox. If that one image is already there, you cannot upload a new one. Instead you should use the same file and upload a new version there.
Since the images you added already have another image in the article, they are being tagged for deletion. Feel free to ask if there's anything more. -- Ab207 (talk) 15:25, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
The Wikipedia page for India Herald is not the same as the website. I have already told User:Khiladi King about this at User_talk:Khiladi_King#India_Herald. That user keeps linking the website (maybe to make the box office link seem more reliable, do not know why he is not open to discussion). If you check Thank You (Revision History), I have reverted his edit three times already under the edit descriptions "newspaper not this", "stop linking defunct website" and "not the same website". This is his most recent change here on 16 August after I warned him on 13 August.
Now the question is the website and the British defunct newspaper are not related, right? If they are, can you please update me on this, thank you. DareshMohan (talk) 06:54, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
I was wondering if you could find any other reviews/sources for this film because I could only find one review from 123Telugu. Should it be deleted? DareshMohan (talk) 23:30, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
@Ab207: Most of the sources say Hari Hara Veera Mallu is released only in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. Even the first look glimpse of the film also reveals that. But then in the page it is mentioned that it will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi as well as Kannada. Is this film releasing in 4 languages or 5 languages? Theoder2055 (talk) 14:45, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
Ketika Sharma's article is already deleted twice under WP:A7, so it'll be under the radar of page reviewers. There's Draft:Ketika Sharma which can be moved to mainspace with some improvements
The issue is new users tend to create pre-mature article of notable subjects with poor write up. When they are caught by reviewers, it takes a lot more effort to get it back on mainspace. Draft:Pathaan (film) is yet to see the light of the day for the same reason. -- Ab207 (talk) 06:59, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
Brahmastra Part one: Shiva.Movie is releasing this month within 4 days and after release we will get to know more things about Astraverse. This is not premature stage to create this page.If this gets deleted soon some will create again in this name after movie release. Raashi Khanna
Dear editor friend,
I always looked upto your edits as you are the senior editor and a guide for me (might be unknown to you).
I observed that you removed few lines from the notes section in the filmography table of Raashi Khanna's wikipage. I was also one of those few editors who added information such as debut in her filmography table's notes section.
I might have done a possible mistake.
Can you please tell me in brief here that why did you remove them so that I can learn something from this and also I could instruct other editors who try to add these notes to avoid adding them again.
Thank you. Gautham offl (talk) 09:11, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
@Gautham offl: Right. You didn't need a "note" to tell you that. Even if it was not mentioned in the para, you could have figured that out easily by looking at the first Tamil entry in the table.
I have understood now. Thank you for taking your time for explaining me this. I'll make sure that I cut down explaining things that are obviously clear for the readers. Gautham offl (talk) 07:51, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your explanation regarding the use of italic font in the filmography page.
Also I have another doubt, should it be "Untitled Krishna Chaitanya (director name) film" or "Untitled Sharwanand film" or "Sharwanand33 (working title of the film)"? I would like to have an explanation for what to use amongst the above 3 sentences. Thank you. Gautham offl (talk) 08:10, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
1) He is credited in Engeyum Eppodhum and JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai as "Sharwa". The Kanam trailer also uses this name. Is this a stage name or is it a nick name? Is it used for only Tamil films? How is he credited in Telugu films?
2) He debuted in Tamil with Kadhalna Summa Illai (2009); however, his portions were mostly dubbed from Gamyam. He then did Naalai Namadhe. However, in all media interviews, they refer to Engeyum Eppodhum as his debut film. Since there is confusion as to which film is his Tamil debut, can the film "Naalai Namadhe" be left out of the career section. The film is as low-key as low-key can get. DareshMohan (talk) 02:19, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
1. Sharwa is his nickname, he occasionally uses that name professionally.
2. I think you'd know best how to handle this but I'd say mention it anyway. If there's confusion in the sources, we should try to reflect that in our article too. It's up to readers what they want to believe. -- Ab207 (talk) 08:23, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

Some editors are trying to remove the Pinkvilla source review and saying that it is a gossip website. Can we consider it as a reliable source?? Khiladi King (talk) 19:47, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
@Khiladi King You can point out that it's deemed reliable by ICTF for film-related info and not gossip. If anyone wants to challenge this, they should bring this up at ICTF or RSN instead of taking individual decisions. -- Ab207 (talk) 08:25, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
@DareshMohan I'm sorry for ignoring some of your requests. I'm going through a tough time in my personal life right now, so it might take some time to get back to my usual self.
Oke Oka Jeevitham has been a heart touching emotional ride for me. It's worth a watch. Afaict, he played hero's father named Ravichandra in Telugu. -- Ab207 (talk) 08:18, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
No problem. Hope you are able to recover. Remember we all only have one life. We should spend more time with family, they are important. DareshMohan (talk) 22:13, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
I think Rajasekhar (actor) is a Tamilian only. The source used that claims he was Telugu was for his political campaign (which makes sense since to run in Telugu states, it would help to say that you are Telugu and not an outsider). The reason why it is confusing is that if his father was Telugu why does he have the name "Varadarajan"?
1. Right. That's why we mentioned "Rajasekher identifies himself as Telugu" as an opinion, rather than a fact. To say he's a Tamilian, we need another source.
Thank you will do the needful regarding cohesion. But please educate Telugu cinema fan Mr. User talk:Jayanthkumar123, and yourself also and both of you stop promoting and advertising Telugu cinema whereever possible, I already told you and him both of you just because an article prints or adds a terminology doesnt mean it is factually accurate. I dont understand your bonding and tolerance with User talk:Jayanthkumar123. What is this adding this superlative lines where ever possible. "Telugu cinema is largest, highest, greatest highest paid actor, higest paid director and greatest director? Fostera12 (talk) 11:45, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Cool..!! Fostera12 , thanks for letting others know that I am a Telugu cinema fan. I proudly admit that I am a fan of Telugu cinema, but that won't make me to add promotional stuff. I edit entertainment-related articles of various Indian languages, not just Telugu. I Know the basic rules and policy of Wikipedia. The content I have added on Cinema of India article is sourced. I guess you know that Wikipedia accepts sourced content. Also, I want to add that, whatever content is added there is so crucial, because that explains the major change in the the Indian cinema in the recent times. If you can't accept the truth no problem, but don't criticize others wherever possible by tagging me every user's talk page. For me, it looks like you are always targeting me in whichever way possible. Hope this issue resolve soon....Thank you... Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:05, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Can you explain, What is this adding of superlatives ? What is this style of editing ? What is this adding this superlative lines where ever possible. "Telugu cinema is largest, highest, greatest? highest paid actor, highest paid director and greatest director? Who told you wikipedia supports just sourced content ? and superlative language is accepted in wikipedia ?Fostera12 (talk) 12:09, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
What's wrong in adding that? Haha..I really can't control my laugh, after reading your comment. I have only mentioned that it is "largest". If somebody add the word "greatest", I am the who objects that, so don't drag the things and say something randomly. Also, Fostera12 you are crossing your limits. Ab207, I don't have choice, but you need to intervene in this issue. This user have blocking alert message on my talk page without any reason. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:14, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
"largest film industry in terms of box office" ? which article mentions this can u show me ? in what way largest film industry and box office revenue are related can u tell me please ? how size of industry is directly related to box office ? no of films produced is largest industry right? do u have figures of how many films produced in Telugu in 2021 or 2022 ? who told you RRR becoming hit is a major change in Indian film industry ? Fostera12 (talk) 12:12, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
So sorry Fostera12, if you can't understand how are largest film industry and box office revenue are related, I can't do anything. Ab207 could you tell him/her to stop talking rubbish. Without prior understanding of the sources I have mentioned, why are questioning me? I know that "film revenue" and "number of films produced" are different. Can't you read this line "and in 2021, Telugu cinema became the largest film industry of India in terms of box-office.[1][2][3]" I have clearly mentioned "in terms of box-office", not just whole. The content is added according to the sources mentioned. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:21, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Give me a metric in what way it is largest in 2021 ? and show me exact box office revenue of telugu films of 2021 together, and revenue of Hindi, Tamil or total films. Check in top highest grossing indian films of 2021, and tell me how many in each language are in that list, and add the revenue and tell me how in terms of box office telugu is largest in 2021, and what about coming years 2022 ? and what is your fasination with highest paid director, highest paid actor, and largest ? Fostera12 (talk) 12:17, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Stop making fake allegations against. When did I have add "highest paid director", this became extreme.. Also, I am not a trade analyst to give you all the metrics, I have only added that is present in the sources. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:23, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
@Fostera12 Unless you provide specific edits by including diffs where you think I have unduly promoted Telugu cinema, I'm not obligated to respond to your vague allegations. Also, I'm only responsible for my edits, not anyone else. Thanks and regards -- Ab207 (talk) 12:24, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
I am telling why are you Ab207 encouraging Jayanthkumar123's vague edits ? The references he provided doesnt anywhere mention that box office revenue of telugu films of 2021 is higher than hindi or tamil or kannada for that year, and when he says he is not a trade analyst, who gave him rights to mention in terms of box office that a certain language film industry is largest? this is not advertising portal. And what is this language "in 2021, Telugu cinema became", is it a human being that it will become something over time? and coming to this highest paid director and actor, u have defended some other editor on this previously. By the by you are not mentioning what is cited in article, you are interpreting it with public opinion, this is not a opinion poll. You cant use wikipedia to promote your opinions. Fostera12 (talk) 12:28, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
@Fostera12 I'm not encouraging or discouraging anyone. Jayanthkumar123 would know that there are numerous times where I raised objection to their edits.
If there's any content dispute, then please raise on the relevant article talk page and ping involved users. I'll provide whatever input I can. Regards -- Ab207 (talk) 12:34, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi Ab207 thanks for clarification, i have already added the topic in the relevant talk page. Please provide your input on this "In 2021, Telugu cinema became largest film industry of India in terms of box office" what about 2022 ? add that ? Deloitte analysis provided 10 yr analysis based on box office and allocated % of revenue to each industry, 2021 telugu cinema is a one off thing. Fostera12 (talk) 12:36, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
@Fostera12 Then the wording should be tweak so that readers would understand it's a one off thing. You and Jayanthkumar123 can negotiate on the article talk page what that wording should be.
Ab207 sorry for bothering you, because I have no option than asking your help. Why can't this user understand the whole context. He/She is bothering me again and again. I have only mentioned what's there in the mentioned sources. See this [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cinema_of_India&type=revision&diff=1110609957&oldid=1110609203], he/she simply removed the longstanding content and saying that the discussion is going on. I doubt if he/she know how to understand the context and the line " in 2021, Telugu cinema became the largest film industry of India in terms of box-office". Always making wrong allegations and making personal attacks on me. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:55, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
@Fostera12 You must first discuss the issue thoroughly on the article talk page without casting asperations on each other. Else the request might be rejected straight away. This is because the third editor will look both sides of argument before giving his opinion. -- Ab207 (talk) 12:55, 16 September
Hi Ab207 he is not even replying to my queries in cinema of India talk page, and you are cautioning me ? and not him ? what is you soft corner towards him ?Fostera12 (talk) 13:00, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
@Fostera12 Whatever I said applies to both really. But since you brought this issue to my notice and alleged that I'm somehow biased, I'm naturally obligated to give you a response. -- Ab207 (talk) 13:21, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
I was notified on my Talk Page by Fostera12, and will try to offer help. Regarding this edit, I see one source mentioning Telugu surpassing Hindi in terms of box office, but it says that's mainly due to the pandemic's effect on Hindi movies. The other sources don't seem to mention the box office lead over Hindi that I can see, though one of them was paywalled for me. Maybe someone can show me where they do? And one of the sources cited says "will it surpass Hindi?" or something like that, which makes me question whether it has surpassed Hindi in a meaningful way. If the only source for the box-office surpassing is the filmibeat one, then I suggest adding the pandemic context to the line. I don't think the line is promotional, if the sources are accurate, though. Just that they need to be accurate and context may need to be added. If I'm missing something, please let me know. Pyrrho the Skipper (talk) 16:37, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
"In addition to acting, she also participates in stage shows and is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products." Is this content in lead section is correct or not? Blazin777 (talk) 07:10, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

Ab207, can you tell me the process for self-block. As I don't feel I am anymore comfortable or eligible to make edits here, I want to permanentely block my user ID and other related Id's (if created in future, whenever felt so). Thus, in future this don't allow me to edit any possible way, even though I wish. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 18:33, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
@Jayanthkumar123 I can understand your disappointment. I've also been in certain situations before which made think it's better to leave this site for good. But when I look back at them after a few days, I realize how naïve it was and I could've handled it differently if I was in that situation again. Such is life. We learn from our experiences (particularly the bad ones). It will help us grow and be a better version of ourselves.
Therefore, I'd advise you not to take this issue to heart. Don't let external factors sway you away. It might be a good idea to take your time off this site for a few days and introspect. If you still feel it the same way, then you can make a decision.
As per self block, you can request any admin to do so (preferably someone you know) and they would happily oblige. However, it's not needed to bring an external restraint upon yourself. Ultimately, your heart would know better whether you were right or wrong. Be your own judge. -- Ab207 (talk) 05:13, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
Ab207..thanks for your suggestion :). As the issue is resolved, I am resume editing. Also, I want to thank you once again for your inputs on the disputed article's talk page. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:35, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
According to Father Patriarchal society , the Mother tongue of a person will be decided on mother tongue of the father. So , if Sridevi's father was a Tamilian, then she was a Tamil but though she was born to a Telugu mother, so she was half Tamil and half Telugu thats why we kept her that she had fluency in both languages. So please change the details. Showing someone's ethnicity in a false way in Wikipedia is definitely a wrong. We Tamils too have rights to celebrate her not only Telugus ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.204.143.145 (talk) 09:33, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
Beautiful film, melodious songs, no article. I need help accessing the archives for reviews. Can you find the exact release date of the film? DareshMohan (talk) 09:11, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
@DareshMohan Really tricky because we don't really have a reliable database for our films.
@DareshMohan Reviews are the easy route. If you can find two reliable reviews, it's go. However, establishing notability via non-review sources would be shaky. -- Ab207 (talk) 13:52, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
Do you think this term is being used ubiquitously -- and incorrectly -- to refer to streaming television series? Because the article itself says, "They are different from streaming television". But I thought as long as it's a series and is created specifically for online viewing (though offline is possible), the term is accurate. But this edit at Vikram Vedha made me wonder otherwise. DareshMohan and Neutral Fan, your inputs are welcome. Kailash29792(talk)10:44, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
So the term 'web series' seems to be used only in Indian articles because few editors feel they should not be called TV series which they think is meant for daily soap operas. This sounds absurd to me because soap operas are just a one type of TV series. Web series are technically still TV series.
So 'streaming television series' seems to be a good compromise because it clarifies they are meant for streaming, and not offline viewing. It's also inline with the standard practice of calling them television series (as opposed to 'film series') which I believe is correct. -- Ab207 (talk) 11:42, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
@Kailash29792 Indeed they are. I created Locked (miniseries) to slowly bring this term into to usage in Indian articles (ironically, that show is renewed for a new season now).
