Image tagging for Image:BW Nate.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BW Nate.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Demo derby.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Demo derby.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Lloyd Young[edit]

I have added a "((prod))" template to the article Lloyd Young, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the ((dated prod)) notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —Wknight94 (talk) 16:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC) @wknight94: It has been over 10 years and his state and national records still stand. Image:CourtHouse_PineCity.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:CourtHouse_PineCity.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license ((GFDL-self-no-disclaimers)) to license it under the GFDL, or ((cc-by-sa-2.5)) to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use ((PD-self)) to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Strangerer (Talk

Fair use rationale for Image:PCHS logo2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PCHS logo2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Unspecified source for Image:Voyageur2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Voyageur2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the ((GFDL-self)) tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use in|article name)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:30, 23 December 2007 (UTC). Speedy deletion nomination of Nathan L. Johnson[edit]

A tag has been placed on Nathan L. Johnson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding ((hangon)) to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 20:31, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Nathan Johnson (author)[edit]

A tag has been placed on Nathan Johnson (author), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

"Insight"[edit]

Wikipedia is not the place to offer others "inight into [your] life." We call that "self-promotion," and it is specifically and thoroughly prohibited at Wikipedia. You do not meet notability standards. Your claims of "notability" such as game show appearances and local theater are not even close to being enough to pass our notability standards. If you want to offer people "insight" into your life, your blog is sufficient and (I presume) reachable by a simple Google search. Plus there's always Facebook and Myspace. But stop promoting yourself here. If every little sports writer were notable, I'd have my own page already. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:11, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No. Pretty much anyone can claim to be a published author. I suggest you read over Wikipedia's standards for notability of people. That determines who's notable and who's not. But the big problem is that you're writing about yourself. You are promoting yourself, whether you claim to be or not. Wikipedia has a longstanding policy that strongly discourages autobiographies. In short, if you are notable, someone else needs to recognize that fact and write about you. By human nature, a person is not the best objective judge about one's own notability. And since you were not up front about the fact that you were writing about yourself, and referred to yourself in the third person in discussions about the article, plus that you, only admitted your identity when I discovered it through investigation, indicates a lack of acting in good faith. That is always a huge black mark against you with admins here.
And moreover, an article about you has already been deleted as a result of a formal article for deletion discussion, and our policies further stipulate that any article delted as a result of an AfD must go through the deletion review process first before it will be reconsidered, or otherwise it will face speedy-deletion every time the article is posted again, and those who post it will face being blocked. In light of all this working against you, my strong advice is to simply stop. Your article has already been formally deleted, you're writing about yourself, you weren't up front about your identity, getting through the DR process as yourself would be nearly impossible, and you just don't meet notability standards. That's four strikes against you. You keep saying your friends want there to be a resource about you on Wikipedia. That reminds me a bit of people who go to the doctor and say, "I have this 'friend'..." when they're really talking about themselves. Save your efforts for your blog. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 14:31, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a fairly new editor but have contributed a lot of material over the past few years. I certainly don't care to "promote" myself here but rather was trying to help others who have tried to setup my page in the past. I don't "claim" to be a published author. I am one. I will follow your advise, however, and not try again to setup my page. But, I can't guarantee that others will not try. Lastly, I wasn't trying to disguise the fact that I had written the article by any means. I simply didn't know how to set it up with my identity (other than john2690) showing. Any advise is appreciated. You've been helpful.

Again, unless your published works are with a well-known publisher and have been written about independently, they will not help you establish notability. As for others writing about you, if they are friends or business associates, they will still run afoul of conflict of interest guidelines. To sum it all up, Wikipedia takes a very, very dim view of people writing articles about themselves, their friends or their business associates, as the view they hold of the subject's notability is almost certain not to be objective. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 20:05, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Pinetech.png[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Pinetech.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the ((GFDL-self)) tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use in|article name)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for File:Official Pine City Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Official Pine City Logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Moreover, you have applied an improper copyright license to the image. You have indicated it is in the public domain as a "work of the federal government," which it is obviously not. If you are claiming fair use, as the logo is likely the copyrighted property of the City of Pine City, then you must provide a fair use rationale. Otherwise, the image will be deleted. Thank you. Better source request for File:Official Pine City Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Official Pine City Logo.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Orphaned non-free image File:Main GB w-tints -REDUCED.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Main GB w-tints -REDUCED.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Orphaned non-free media (File:Pine City Horizontal Logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pine City Horizontal Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Tommy Ryman Headshot.jpg[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Tommy Ryman Headshot.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/glberg/uploads/2017-TommyRyman8x10.jpg?v=63670636332. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 00:25, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing. Dom from Paris (talk) 10:48, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article you created if more than borderline. You should not say in one breath that no charges were brought and then refer to "his victims". Louis Brouillard moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Louis Brouillard, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Why[edit]

Are you recreating articles that have already been deleted? Ron Kubesh was deleted WP:Articles for deletion/Ron Kubesh over 5 years ago. I am about to seek out an administrator to possibly ban you for this and other disruptive behavior....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:17, 31 October 2018 (UTC) I appreciate you reviewing my contributions but I thought Ron Kubesh was deleted for lack of reference, not notability. Can you please inform me as to why?[reply]

This article was improved and referenced about a notable person. He was on a pro team, is that not worthy of a Wiki page? John2690-john2690 (talk) 23:17, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Read the AFD. Being on a pro football team but not playing a down doesn't make him notable. Stop being lazy and disruptive....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:28, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why didn't you recreate the article at Ron Kubesh? Was it not to have the former AFD be so obvious? I have a very long memory especially when it comes to your antics....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:30, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realize this was an option. As you can sometimes tell, I'm learning and growing my Wikipedian skills all the time. I will know now to do so, if the article warrants recreation.— Preceding unsigned comment added by John2690-john2690 (talkcontribs)

The article was also misleading. It was determined at the last AFD that he never played a down in the NFL but you wrote the article saying he did. Read WP:DISRUPT....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:32, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just read (hadn't seen prior) - appears there may have been some missing data by the NFL for those seasons. I'll do more research. Meanwhile, let's keep the page as a stub, perhaps, so others can add to it appropriately.— Preceding unsigned comment added by John2690-john2690 (talkcontribs)

Ron Kubesh[edit]

William- The article says he played in the NFL for 1.5 years. It's not being lazy, nor disruptive, to state a fact. John2690-john2690 (talk) 23:30, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

He says he did. NFL.com and other reliable sources say he did not....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:33, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt anyone's contacted the NFL to get official word. I'll do some research - I've contacted the NFL and am awaiting their response.— Preceding unsigned comment added by John2690-john2690 (talkcontribs)

That would come under WP:OR and isn't acceptable. You need to sign and organize your postings too. BTW, I have reported you to an administrator....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:55, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Magnolia677, the source I cited was from the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe statutes. I don't see how that is unreliable. The Band used the Ojibwe native language to name all of the cities that have communities within its jurisdiction, i.e. Pine City, Sandstone, etc. Can you please expound upon your notion that it is an unreliable source? Are you versed in Ojibwe language?

The name you cite for Pine City is not once mentioned in the document....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:00, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@WilliamJE - The name is cited phonetically since it is an English written document. If you read the statutes, on Pg. 8, underneath "Designation of Band Districts", "District III", is the phonetic version of "Ne-zhingwaakokaag", spelled out "Ne-shi-gwa-go-gog".

Grand Casino Hinckley moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Grand Casino Hinckley, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Currently, all provided sources with the exception of the GPS4593 site are affiliated with the subject, and the GPS source does not provide sufficient coverage to meet WP:ORGCRITE, the notability guideline for businesses. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's notability guideline for businesses and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. signed, Rosguill talk 00:15, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vikings uniforms[edit]

I started a discussion at Talk:Minnesota Vikings more than three weeks ago and you still haven't responded. Please explain why any information regarding the team's uniform manufacturer is at all relevant. What did Penny Bryce even do? The team's jerseys are mass produced by Nike, so I'm guessing all she did was stitch the individual name plates on. – PeeJay 15:46, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@John2690-john2690: Good job on this. I changed the article so it represents one casino. The other casino at Mille Laces could use an article. Thank you. AmericanAir88(talk) 03:12, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Mnmonthlyad.jpg[edit]

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too.
