My recent reverts of your edits[edit]

Hi, I have reverted several of your edits, mostly relating to links in the infoboxes of biographical articles. I want to explain my reasoning.

For example, with Lindsay Reynolds. Your text was:

Chief of Staff to the First Lady ([[First Lady of the United States|Chief of Staff to the First Lady]])

I reverted this to

Chief of Staff to the First Lady (Chief of Staff to the [[First Lady of the United States|First Lady]]

My principle here is that links should be as explicit as possible. Ideally, readers should know which article is being linked without having to click on the link. Your version promises an article on the position of Chief of Staff to the First Lady, but this promise is not fulfilled by the linked article. This is an example of an "Easter-egg link", see WP:EASTEREGG.

The difference is more subtle with Clement Arrindell. Your version was:

Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis ([[Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis|Governor-General of]] [[Saint Kitts and Nevis]])

My version is:

Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis ([[Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis|Governor-General]] of [[Saint Kitts and Nevis]])

Here the only difference is whether the word 'of' is included in the first link. Excluding it from a link causes it to be rendered in black; this makes it clear that we are offering two links to the reader. On reflection, I think it is preferable to only offer one link, like this:

Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis ([[Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis]])
