I think this redirect was supposed to be US iodination deaths (or maybe US iodization deaths)? Ionization is very different from iodination, and the former is not mentioned at the target article. The article that would discuss this would be Acute radiation syndrome, but deaths are not discussed there in the context of the United States, so delete unless an alternative target can be identified. Despite repeated discussions at Talk:Turkey, a page name that always makes me smile, editors continue to insert "Türkiye" into articles and to use the non-WP:COMMONNAME country name via this redirect. I fixed all of the transclusions in article space in May 2023, and it is back in 12 articles less than two months later.

• Comment: Is there a way something can redirect to a template while invoking one of the parameters? Or more precisely, I wouldn't have an issue with this redirect if it could display as "Turkey" instead of "Türkiye" when transcluded. If it were transcluded as ((Country data Türkiye|name=Turkey)) and used in ((flag)), for example, it would render something like  Turkey, which is pretty much how its target renders, as opposed to rendering with Türkiye in its output as it currently does TartarTorte 19:02, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

• Keep: It seems that much like Czechia and Côte d'Ivoire, among others, noted above, that this name ends up being used with the flag in situations that would not violate WP:COMMONNAME. It seems that a number of sporting organizations (FIFA, UEFA, and IIHF as examples) use the name aforementioned names as well as Türkiye, and it seems that generally on articles specifically about that (for example Czechia's usage throughout international hockey pages as of 2021, when the IIHF changed their name to Czechia). With this same standard being held, there is probably some utility in using ((flag|Türkiye)) on a soccer related page as that seems to be the teams name in international competitions.
