Thanks for your work on improving articles on obscure aircraft, especially the Boeing Pelican. Your hard work is much appreciated. BilCat (talk) 20:59, 23 March 2019 (UTC) |
Hi, do you intend to add anymore information to Draft:Aerocon Dash 1.6 wingship? I believe the subject is notable enough for an aircraft article, but wanted to see if you had any more work left to do on it. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 21:10, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi BilCat,
Plenty more that needs to be added, but it'll take more research, and I won't be able to get to it for awhile. I think it can go live in its current state, though. I never did find out why it was rejected - my guess is that the "Dash 1.6" part of the vehicle name only appears in the DARPA report and not in any news articles.
Thanks for the barnstar! D271l (talk) 21:26, 23 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:PW-Allison 578-DX (on MD-80).png. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (User:FastilyBot) 01:01, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:PW-Allison 578-DX (on MD-80).png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading File:Table of Contents of the ICAO Journal, February 1990 edition.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:31, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi D271l, I've been impressed with your work on engine articles, especially your ability to find information on obscure engines such as the Pratt & Whitney XT57 and the various UDF propfan articles. Have you ever come across any information on the Pratt & Whitney F401? We currently have it tucked in on the Pratt & Whitney F100, but I'd love to be able to split it off as its own article, like we did with the J57/XT57. Thanks. BilCat (talk) 23:10, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi BilCat,
I really don't know anything about supersonic engines, but it looks like US government publications provide decent sources of information on Google Books.
- "New Navy VSTOL". Military Review. Vol. 58, no. 4. April 1978. p. 84. ISSN 0026-4148.
- "F401 engine development". Are management problems in the acquisition of aircraft gas turbine engines being corrected? (Report). US General Accounting Office. September 30, 1980. pp. 11–12.
- "Comparison of F-15 and F-14B engines". Fiscal year 1975 authorization for military procurement, research, and development, and active duty, selected reserve and civilian personnel strengths (Report). US General Accounting Office. February 7, 1974. pp. 368–369.
- "Problems with F-14 engine". Fiscal year 1974 authorization for military procurement, research and development, construction authorization for the safeguard ABM, and active duty and selected reserve strengths (Report). US General Accounting Office. May 15, 1973. pp. 1459–1460.
- "F-14". Fiscal year 1973 authorization for military procurement, research and development, construction authorization for the safeguard ABM, and active duty and selected reserve strengths (Report). US General Accounting Office. April 18, 1972. pp. 4019–4061.
There's also articles from the Aviation Week archive:
- "Pratt & Whitney offers alternate engines". Aviation Week & Space Technology. February 12, 1979. p. 14. ISSN 0005-2175.
- "Pratt & Whitney further defines revamped management roster". Aviation Week & Space Technology. June 7, 1976. p. 18. ISSN 0005-2175.
- "Navy, DoD weigh fate of F401 engine". Aviation Week & Space Technology. January 14, 1974. pp. 16–17. ISSN 0005-2175.
- "XFV-12A prototype components tested". Aviation Week & Space Technology. April 26, 1976. pp. 42–43. ISSN 0005-2175.
- "F100 engine draws on past technology". Aviation Week & Space Technology. June 26, 1972. pp. 88+. ISSN 0005-2175.
Hope this helps. D271l (talk) 03:56, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I ran across a draft, Draft:General Electric GE1, which I am trying to improve, if possible. However, I've not been able to find much on it on the internet. Since you've done some good work on the the GE36 articles, among others, do you think anything can be done with this one to improve it? Thanks. BilCat (talk) 04:51, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

The article Ilyushin Il-90 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated))
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated))
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 220.240.159.198 (talk) 07:28, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
