The book I'm reading (Willa Cather's Collected Short Fiction, University of Nebraska Press; Rev Ed edition, 1 Nov 1970) uses "'s in the title. I think that must be the way it was published, with inverted commas in the title. This is the only title they use them for.Zigzig20s (talk) 16:55, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:ChrisBohjalian Midwives.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:46, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

I just re-wrote an article on a new manga series titled Lagoon Engine Einsatz, it had been mistakenly replaced with a redirect. (Probably because of the poor quality of the article) I'd really appreciate it if you would take a look at what I've done and tell me what you think and how I could improve. :) -TheCrimsonANTHROPOLOGIST 03:58, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I'm glad I could help. I agree that it is important that the non-free images are monitored, but that this mass tagging for deletion is putting off valuable editors like User:23skidoo. I tried to explain this on the Administrator's Noticeboard, but I didn't get anywhere. If you notice an user talk page with tons of bot messages, please point me towards them and I'll try to fix as many as I can. I was looking forward to actually writing some articles in the New Year, but it looks like my Wikipedia-time will be taken up with fixing images for the next few weeks.</end rant!> All the best, Bláthnaid 11:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

... may I ask you a question? I am (as you know) new to Wikipedia and would like to add a little "caption" (don't know what it's called here), like I have seen on other users' names, such as "Let's talk" or similar, to my own username. Can you tell me how I can get this done? Thanks, Katie Katie1971 (talk) 14:53, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Ok, i joined the "sci-fi task force."
If i understand properly, i'm supposed to put this: ShortStoryInfoboxCode at the top of each article even if is some of the items are blank? Wikipedia is many times more complex than any wiki i've ever seen.
At this point my goal is to make entries for those really good sci-fi works which don't have a page right now. Hugo winners to start with.

Hi,
I received a email from a Australian author and he sent his bookcover images as a attachment. But i am unsure of the restrictions on bookcovers now for Wikipedia and what is required to allow them to be used. I had previous images deleted so had stopped uploading any. If you can direct me to how to go about it, it be appreciated, as you seem to have succeeded with bookcovers on article pages. Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:TransAtlantic_promo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 10:59, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "((prod))" template to the article United Settlements (series), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the ((prod)) template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi, I did ask about alphabetizing the list and no reply. As for monitoring for inactive members, no one has been doing that for - literally - years. I found some 104 inactive members on the list; some inactive from early 2006. Generally, it is more convenient to use an alphabetized list. The 'joined on...' dates have little relevance to whether a member is active or not. Some members who joined recently are not active on Wikipedia at all. The list now is more reflective of reality. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 16:04, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, this is funny from my perpective. I just realized that you are one of the editors I invited to join the project because I was also cleaning up the membership list on the Children's literature project. They had a pointless 'guest list' and I invited everyone on the list to actually join. I also went through that list and found only 23 active Wikipedians. Actually, it does seem to me that there are an awful lot of novel/literature/book projects. There is almost no maintenance at a lot of them. Yesterday was my 'maintenance day' and I created portal templates, member templates and cleaned up participants lists at three projects. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 16:24, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi there,
I have expanded the The Bone Forest page. Would you look at it briefly to see if the stub tag should be removed? Also, is it appropriate to list the novel itself as a reference?

Please can someone advise how to report (and block) an individual for continued vandalism? The -plot summary for Agatha Christie's The A.B.C. Murders keeps being changed by some individual called Vulturemeg to something he or she calls "simpler". It is appallingly written (they can't even spell Hercule Poirot correctly!) and, although the present summary is no great shakes, is considerably worse than the version that was there before. I've put a polite raltionale on the talk page as to why this new summary is not acceptable but they seem to be ignoring the points I made earlier today. Many thanks.--Jtomlin1uk (talk) 14:49, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Kevinalewis. You're quite right, I have been a bit quiet lately. But the delay in preparations for setting up the task force was intentional: I was hoping to see more support come from the discussion on the WikiProject talk page. But seeing that other subjects have made their way there, it looks like I'll have to resort to spamming individual user talk pages. I have two other tasks that I'll finish up tonight, and I'll start seeking out support by the end of tomorrow. I already have an idea of whom to ask, and I'll try to get around eight positive responses before starting the task force. Wish me luck! – Liveste [talk • contrib] 13:28, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi Kevin, I see your bot is currently tagging. I don't know if you encounter many of these, but it might be an idea to skip the following regex: WikiProject[\s]?Banner[\s]?Shell|WPBS|WikiProject[\s]?Banners|Shell and save the pages it skips for processing later. I'm well on the way to completing a new version of the plugin which can handle those shell containers so it seems a shame to leave messy edits behind :) HTH, no reply needed, keep an eye on AWB/plugin page as new version will be out soon. --kingboyk (talk) 14:05, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, since you're about, can you clarify what you mean by your feature request/bug fix? I can't identify the issue. Please reply at the plugin talk page or file an AWB report. I'd like to get this done for you but I don't understand what you want. Cheers. --kingboyk (talk) 12:48, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Kevin,
When I added infotables to the Christie pages that didn't have one, I put "hardback" there and someone (can't remember who or which page) said "hardcover" was the name to use as this is a US site. Now you say it should be "hardback". I try desperately, God do I try, to bring some element of standardisation to these pages and am half way through amending all the Christie pages to say "hardcover" and now I might have to change them back. Please tell me which is the 100%, accepted, proven, documented Wiki standard. Sorry if this sounds OTT (it is supposedly the most depressing day of the year after all) but not a week goes by when someone doesn't go in and change one single Christie page, forgetting the woman issued 80+ bloody books, leaving someone (i.e. me) to go and amend the other 79+!!! (Rant over - I'm smiling really - but the question remains!)--Jtomlin1uk (talk) 16:50, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Kevin,
VERY surprised to see you of all people have deleted the solution to "The Mousetrap" from that page! I don't agree with the research reason as I think wikipedia is not about marketing or such but a source of information which Joe Public cannot easily access anywhere else but the web (and the script of the Mousetrap has been published and can be bought worldwide without travelling to London to see the play). In addition, where does the deletion of solutions leave the crime taskforce? If this precedent was followed to its logical conclusion, no crime fiction/detective fiction page would offer the solution - where would that leave pages like "Murder of Roger Ackroyd". I'd be fascinated to know more about your reasons for this.

I've set up a page for the 19th century task force for WP:NOVELS. I only got six positive responses for the task force, including you and me, plus one of support from Scartol, but I'm hoping that more people will sign up once it has started in earnest. At the moment, I'm waiting for my request to go through for a "19th century task force" parameter to be added to ((NovelsWikiProject)). When that's finalised, I'll start linking the task force page to other pages across WP:NOVELS, as well as notifying people that the task force is ready. Thanks for all your help in setting this up. – Liveste (talk • edits) 17:45, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi KevinALewis,
I have done revisions on Mythago Wood, Lavondyss and The Hollowing. I think these articles could possibly qualify for Start Class. Please look at them and change the class if you think it is appropriate. I know these pages still need work, but if you see any serious problems or have advice on areas to focus on, please share it.

Thanks for the tip - I messed up because I couldn't figure out how to go about technical things. Still don't really get the difference between the setting and all. Hope it's okay now though. Julia Rossi (talk) 10:24, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
"Article Grading: The following comments were left by the quality and importance raters ([edit] - history - watch):
The synopsis given in that entry is not The Inheritors by Conrad and Ford Maddox Ford. The 1901 novel makes no mention of vampires at all. In fact, there is nothing in terms of supernatural, fantasy, or science-fiction in the work after the first few pages."
This applied to the first version of the article when it was a stub with most of the content about someone's vampire research. Since then I rewrote the whole thing this time based on the actual novel, so now it definitely isn't a stub of any kiind. So, walk me through this, is it still only a "start" article? and should the quote in the box be removed now? Help! Julia Rossi (talk) 10:42, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Re The Inheritors, thanks for combing out my tangle there. Not to be picky but it does have another reference in the Textual Notes section which I forgot to reference and now would have to find all over again (dammit). While you're online, I'd like to ask if a plot summary is OR if you read the book yourself. Does it beg questions to have to find a third party version? Thanks Kevinalewis, Julia Rossi (talk) 11:06, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the invite. I'd quite like the experience and you're very patient (which helps), so um, count me in! Where do I check out the Australian project? (Though I don't mind being broader, it might be interesting too.) Julia Rossi (talk) 11:49, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
By coincidence, before talking with you, I found Arthur Porges, scifi short story writer article needed a boost, and The Ruum short story of his doesn't have an article. Apparently it's a notable short story for some 55 years, so that's two new projects and, I'll look at the list you linked as well. : ) Julia Rossi (talk) 22:27, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
06-Feb-2008: The month/day fields must remain linked to support users who have their date-format preference selected, such as for short ISO format, YYYY-MM-DD. Unfortunately, the MediaWiki software does not yet have non-linked dates, such as might be coded as "<<May 7>>" to allow just date-format preference for unlinked dates. All dates must be linked for reformatting. The MediaWiki software has been created/modified by novice computer people who don't realize the massive overlinking being generated into the Wikipedia page-link database(s): each day, such as "March 3" has links from about 11,000 articles, totalling over 4 million date links, so far. This is an absurdity. The illustration of the first edition of At Swim-Two-Birds is going to be deleted because a -bot is incapable of reading. The book cover is not copyrighted, because it is a reproduction of a two dimensional work of art. It is also not applicable because this is from 1939, which is beyond the "old" limit for the US and just on the edge of it for the EU. Of course the image people have made sure that it's damned near impossible to fix these things, once they've mangled them, but you could consider uploading to Wikipedia and marking it for non-Commons, as that's where these maladaptive and destructive things run free. Your image is wholly appropriate. Geogre (talk) 21:54, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
I've done 31 rationales; I'll see if I can do more tomorrow. The major thing, I gather, is that the rationale has to link back to the article where the image is used. Best, Mackensen (talk) 04:35, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Kevin. Congratulations on the 21st issue. A couple of questions and a request if you have time. I was wondering since there are no articles directly on W. Somerset Maugham's short story collections, if it's okay to have one? Just in case, I wrote one for The Casuarina Tree – it's stilll rough. Re referencing shortcuts I don't seem to get the serialabc style of referencing - is it worth having in this case? Request is would you mind looking at the proposed article on my sandbox page here [3] - any stylistic or wkfy tips also welcome. Thanks, Julia Rossi (talk) 06:49, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:TedPearce promo.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
((di-replaceable fair use disputed))
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 12:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Camel bandpromo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the ((GFDL-self)) tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use in|article name)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:57, 17 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 21:57, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I haven't come across "standard heading" before: please explain for me. --Old Moonraker (talk) 08:47, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Madeleine St John requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding ((hangon))
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
I noticed you're a contributor at WP:NOVEL (and I recognized your name). So it doesn't get lost in the heaving sea of your watchlist, I have left a question here and was hoping you could give me an opinion (the last couple questions I've left on wikiprojects died a lonely death, so I thought a talk page note might get, not so much a better reception, as any reception). Thanks, WLU (talk) 12:28, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading Image:InAGlassHouse.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:11, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi Kevinalewis, I need to know how to upload an image for the first time. It's The Casuarina Tree – a 3/4 length shot of the book (to avoid the library identity tag) in jpg. I've read the relevant pages in wikipedia, but there's so much and I really don't know what it would come under being an 1966 book, my own image of a book cover etc. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me the categories and steps to make sure it lands on wiki in the best way. Why is the movie poster image not relevent to the section on film adaptations???
I have the understanding that images are an important part of feature articles. If this image is not suitable to discussion on the film, what else might you be able to suggest I should look for or obtain for the article?

I just wanted to let you know that i would be interested in becoming an editor for the project newsletter, if you could get back to me on my talk page i would be greatful, thanks. DangerTM (talk) 07:54, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I added to the tip page, but i just realised that i may not understand it properly, maybe you should read my tip and tell me if it the right sort of thing that belongs on the page, if so, tell me, it will make me glad, Thanks, and sorry to bother you agian. DangerTM (talk) 08:52, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, i pretty certain that that is somewhere in Europe, and i am in australia, it's 8.40 now where i am if that is any help. I guess i should start by telling you my interests, if that is appropriate. I play guitar, i have been playing for twelve years now, quite a stretch, i am 24 now, i love english with a passion, and i love literature, but not in the classical sense, i like to question why things are considered classics, just because someone said so? why did they say that? that sort of thing. I am reading Ulysses by James Joyce at the moment, and i find it great. I find that scholars are generally cut down the middle when it comes to Ulysses, some love it like they would love their wife, some hate it with a firey passion. As i have not finished it yet, i cannot make a descision. Another area that i love is history. Modern, Ancient, Dark ages. Anything that happened in the past i love. Unless of course i am studying one of the bleaker periods of time, like the holocaust. Well, i guess that sums me up, i thank you for adopting me. DangerTM (talk) 09:48, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I want to do some articles on the novels of this man, but i will have to read some more of his material do do this well. DangerTM (talk) 11:23, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi - I noticed you've uncommented-out the lead cites in The President (novel). Personally I'm not a fan of citations in the lead, because (as it should contain nothing that's not mentioned and cited in the article body) it's unnecesary duplication. I think if we start citing some bits, we'll have to cite everything, and that will also detract from readability. However, it's no big deal - they can stay if you'd prefer ;) EyeSereneTALK 15:50, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I undid your change ((welcomeg)) as it had the correct number of "end tables". When you removed one, the format of the welcome template flowed to follow-on comments, which it shouldn't do. See this revision for an example. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:03, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
maybe at the project there should be an election for the co-ordinator of the project, the military history project does that, and it has really made a good impact on the way that it is run. The co-ordinator would obviously answer to a council of members on policy based issues, maybe we could do what they did in rome, and have people elected onto the council, maybe if you were to put that idea onto the newsletter it would give some idea as to the interest that people would have on that subject. Thanks DangerTM (talk) 07:24, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
I recently reviewed this article because it was under GA nominations, i received a complaint from a member who said i didn't do it right, could you review it and then tell me what i did wrong, i declined the nomination, this is the talkpage Talk:Banquo DangerTM (talk) 11:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
And how do i distribute to people's talk pages, maybe if we distributed to every talk page of every member of the project, just a suggestion. DangerTM (talk) 09:34, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

I think I may be a suspect of a sockpuppet conspiracy, just because I like the sort of things as User:Tom.mevlie, it is quite weird, maybe you can help me out. Go to my user page and look at the top of it. Thanks. DangerTM (talk) 05:02, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Are you going to reply to my last post? It is really eating me up inside, I mean, the evidence is purely circumstantial, but still, this is slander, unsubstantiated slander, can I lodge a complaint or something? Because I think that if someone says this sort of thing about another user, there should be a place where I can complain. DangerTM (talk) 06:11, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, I posted a discussion on the heirachy of the council, whether it should be three members and so on. I was also wondering if it should be just a president who has total control and a bunch of people who he answers to, which really stops that one president becoming a dictator in his own right, this would be bad for the project, but I think the main issue is getting enough editors who actually want to be a part of the system in that way, and also, how do I start an election or a voting section? Is it hard. But the response is good on the talk page so far, of the two people that have replied since I last checked it, both agree with me, although, one is you. But anyway, thanks. DangerTM (talk) 06:48, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, that puts my mind to rest, which is good. It's 12:30AM over here, and i have to get up at like 7:15, got a hard day's drinking ahead of me, so I will probably be asleep when you reply, what did User:Tom.mevlie do anyway? DangerTM (talk) 13:27, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
moved from User talk:Doug for unified discussion
You could certainly add the ((Sockpuppet|1=Tom.mevlie|Tom.mevlie)) to the new user's user page, and note to User:Pax:Vobiscum that the new user shares at least a few of the puppeteer's typological quirks, including not apparently being able to capitalize the word "I" any better than Tom or his other socks do. John Carter (talk) 19:06, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
They want me to start my own task force focusing on great works, which will be hard, expecially in this day and age, considering that if a sample of twenty educated people was taken, and every book that they had ever read was tallied, you still wouldn't have all the great works read, how do you suggest that I go about it? DangerTM (talk) 10:04, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
The newsletter looks good, how long do you expect until it will be ready for distribution? And you seem to be missing the point somewhat, it is not about the best books and novels, it is about the ones that are worth most to society on the whole.DangerTM (talk) 10:20, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
In this edit you once again changed the reference header to footnotes. As we discussed at length above #Footnote per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (and common sense) When either of two styles is acceptable, it is inappropriate for an editor to change an article from one style to another unless there is a substantial reason to do so. Additionally on the article Is There No Place On Earth For Me?, that you changed the section header on there are no footnotes only references, so the version you changed to is not even acceptable and had there been any footnotes per Wikipedia:Layout#Standard appendices and descriptions as there are clearly references in the section you should have changed it to Notes and references. As you pointed out in your comment we are not working to a central directive, really only consensus, there is NO consensus for (or directive) to make this change you insist on continuing to make, please stop doing it. Thank you for uploading Image:AJQuinnell ManOfFire.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for uploading Image:CraigThomas promo.jpg.
Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 11:31, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for updating the WPNovels banner on the talk page for LL. I'm just curious, though – given the nearly unanimous negative reaction it's gotten, why is it of top importance? I assume it's the autobiographical elements? Cheers. – Scartol • Tok 15:39, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I have tagged Image:TedPearce promo.jpg as ((replaceable fair use)). If you wish to dispute this assertion, please add ((Replaceable fair use disputed)) to the image description page and a comment explaining your reasoning to the the image talk page. Image:DavidRohl promo.jpg, Image:ProtoKaw promo.png, and Image:MartyGoetz promo.jpg have been similarly tagged. Mosmof (talk) 04:26, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Good, everything seems to be in order, do you want to run? Do you think I should run? I would not be so forthright as to nominate myself without consulting people to understand if I have the required votes or not, I however would vot for you as chair or whatever. DangerTM (talk) 11:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Were you planning on sending out a special edition newsletter, or something similar, to alert members about the Election? Not everyone watches the general forum and therefore might not know that nominations are only being taken until the 30th. Just an idea. :) María (habla conmigo) 12:58, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
An election has been proposed and has been set up for this project. Description of the roles etc., can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Coordinators. If you wish to stand, enter your candidacy before the end of March and ask your questions of anyone already standing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Coordinators/May 2008. Voting will start on the 1st April and close at the end of April. The intention is for the appointments to last from May - November 2008. For other details check out the pages or ask. [5] - I'm User:Feydey not User:Feyday. You might want to check the bot settings. And good luck in the election. Best, feydey (talk) 17:39, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Well it seems that we are up against each other, although my challenge will be to get recognised, it will be you who will win, but I still want to help. It does however seem justifying that my idea has become a reality, maybe I could assist you when you get elected, proof reading posts before you make them, that sort of thing, like a presidential aid. DangerTM (talk) 05:06, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Both, I would be happy for you to edit it in anyway you see fit, where should I post it? In your sand box, or can you designate a particular portion of wikipedia to it?DangerTM (talk) 10:22, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, just let me add a side note, I wrote that story out of a series of four possible candidates for an extension two English paper when i was in year 11, we submitted the stories and the teacher was to view which ones had the most potential. How do you mean "Dumbing down"? Would I still be raking in 2 million a year if I did get an Oxford Doctorate? And I would of course have to leave the cosy little life I have down under, and move to England to study, which I think would be worth it, I would learn a lot.DangerTM (talk) 10:53, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
I am not sure if you are not already an admin, but I was considering nominating you for adminship. The way I see it, if you get adminship, then we both reap the benifits, as does everyone affiliated with the project.DangerTM (talk) 06:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I didn't follow quite what you were asking with the "is this blurb?" question. --Mr Wednesday (talk) 06:36, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
woah man, it's getting heated on my end of the election, did you read my story yet?DangerTM (talk) 00:29, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Mate, it seems that it is not getting off to the start that one would have hoped, I declared the site inactive, that is, I declared that the site for the candidates to show theselves inactive. If you think that this is unjustified, then tell meDangerTM (talk) 09:54, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I notice that many of the novel images I uploaded are being tagged for deletion, unless saved by another user. When I uploaded them, I used the dropdown at the time to idicate Fair use :book cover. Is that no longer sufficient for the cover images? If it is already heavily discussed, if you could link me there I don't mind reading it, but a summary would be awesome. Thanks!PeregrineV (talk) 07:09, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I was surprised to see that you're not an administrator. It seems that the tools would be very useful, especially considering all the work you do with categories and maintenance. Have you avoided running for any particular reason? You've always been calm, courteous and extremely competent, in my experience. I would be happy to nominate, or I'm sure we could scare up some nominators of even more prestige if you'd be interested. If you feel as though you're not familiar with any aspects of adminship, I'd be happy to help find a good adminship coach, or anything else I could do to help. If you're not interested, well, I know I've said it before, but as a bibliophile I'm really grateful for all the work you put into Wikipedia. --JayHenry (talk) 03:16, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I have been unblocked. I just wanted to say I am sorry. Danger was not a sockpuppet. He was, is, me, but he was not a sock puppet. Tom.mevlie (talk) 09:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

"I was blocked for incivility and sockpuppetry. You may know me as User:DangerTM You may not. I cannot loose this election, unless another candidate joins. So I am feeling pretty happy at the moment."[6] This is definitely something wrong with this picture, don't you think? María (habla conmigo) 12:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Just looking at the recommendations from your reading list and noticed that the cover image for Sword Song (novel) appears to have been vandalised, Can you investigate and correct ? My wikiskills are not up to it I'm afraid... Thanks, GrahamHardy (talk) 17:35, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for messing about with the Wine-Dark Sea image, I really got confused by it all. Things seem to be OK now. Dabbler (talk) 14:27, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Kevinalewis, I don't understand why you undid this revision: since the category is "novels" they all have to be books; works is a more broad category. I think that the best way to sort them is works > books > novels. Please let me know what you think. —ScouterSig 15:43, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Kevin,
Thank you very much for the thank you! I've been having a very frustrating day today - for reasons not connected to Wikipedia - and your message has really cheered me up! It's also the first "thank you" I've received on wikipedia (although I genuinely enjoy contributing and getting thanks is NOT the reason I do it!). I'm back at the British Library on Saturday trying to trace further contemporary reviews, exact publication dates and serialisation details of Agatha Christie's work. I've also got together a good set of material to produce an entry for "Go Back for Murder" and thus create a new page there.--Jtomlin1uk (talk) 16:53, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
In my attempts at some cleanup and organization, what do you think about this? —ScouterSig 20:00, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
