Hi, Kevinalewis. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has been chosen as the Novels Collaboration of the Month for January 2009. Please help to improve this article towards FA status. Cheers. – Liveste (talk • edits) 00:07, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Please stop adding poorly sourced information to the article. I have been explaining on the talk page, for example, how the citation you provided for the publication date was for a book with a different ISBN number than the one in the infobox. I have now replaced it with a citation that explains the multiple release dates, which is far more specific. To write quality articles, we have to be meticulous. Thanks. Hello, I am a freelance writer in SF, California and am interested in Sarah Stein. Specifically, the time she spent in Palo Alto and the details surrounding the dispersal of her Matisse collection. Any suggestions?

You've uploaded File:SpocksBeard TheLight.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:StephenBury Interface.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

Greetings! So, Kevin, what do you know that the rest of us seem not to? Admittedly I haven't checked recently, but right after the Autumn '08 tour, there was no indication of whether Rob was a permanent feature or not... Is he now an official member of the band? Cheers—GRM (talk) 12:13, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Why are you removing Japanese novels from the scope of the Novels WikiProject? Stuff like Mōryō no Hako may have been animated and adapted into manga titles, but they're novels first. And I don't mean graphic novels either, but actual written prose. And then there's "light novels" like Full Metal Panic!. Light novels are written prose, too, and no different from young adult novels or novellas --both of which are within the scope of WP:NOVELS.--Nohansen (talk) 17:24, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I;d like to know why The Twelve Kingdoms is out of scope of the NovelsWikiProject? It's a set of Japanese fantasy novels, upon which a cartoon has been based (like Lord of the Rings, for instance), so why would it be out of scope? Is it because it's Japanese? 76.66.198.171 (talk) 21:36, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi Kevin,
Although i am not active on Wikipedia, i did start a Fantasy Book Club (using the nick JJ) on Goodreads that may enjoy joining. It has over 200 members now and has many fantasy authors in the group. Your most welcome to join the Fantasy Book Club.

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Guild Collection Vol. 2, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((dated prod))
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi Kevin, Can you explain what you meant by "successed Griggs in the city" in the article about the publisher A. C. McClurg? Thanks, Rojomoke (talk) 16:56, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I think you made an error by moving the page, for the name of the book is City of Thieves, A Novel. Just saying that you should consider changing it back--CFountain (talk) 17:44, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
Regarding this revert: It's made explicit at Wikipedia:Collaboration#Creating a new collaboration point 5 that collaboration templates belong on the talk page. This can be observed pretty readily from the placement of other common COTWs, such as those listed on template:COTW,a nd indeed from most modern invocations of this template being of the ((tmbox)) class (a change I've made to the collab template in question). In general, articlespace templates are for issues relating to the article itself; issues relating to the community, such as WikiProject notices, belong on the talk page. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:51, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Yikes! Sorry about the delay, but (in case you didn't already know)...
Hi, Kevinalewis. Flowers for Algernon has been chosen as the Novels Collaboration of the Month for February 2009. Please help to improve this article towards FA status. Cheers.
I'm curious what more you think it would take to remove the stub status? The Wikipedia novel project even rates the article as "Start" and not "Stub" (see article talk page). While I agree there is room for expansion, as there is in almost any article, I disagree that it is a stub. It has references, plot info, author info, and some critical review info. Would you be amenable to removing the stub designation and adding the edit box ((expand))? — Bill W. (Talk) (Contrib) – 5 July 2024, 04:26 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:LindseyDavis ADyingLightInCorduba.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:04, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted, without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:Fantasy novels task force articles]] to articles/categories that belong in it.
I blanked the category page. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of blanking and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to revert the blanking if you wish. However, doing so will not prevent deletion if the category remains empty.
If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with ((db-author)).

I did a little investigation. It turns out that the articles were moved to Category:Fantasy fiction articles, so all's well. I'll go ahead and request deletion of the old category. --Stepheng3 (talk) 19:19, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Not a novel strictly speaking, but I suggest redirecting 'Stranger in the Village' to Notes of a Native Son, which already contains a brief summary of the essay. What do you think?Zigzig20s (talk) 09:41, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Sure. Can we keep the conversation on the talk page of the bot? It helps me to archive things properly. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 13:49, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm well read, enthusiastic, and way too much time on my hands at the moment. (I'm just waiting for September when Uni starts.) So, just plain hard work is what I'll mainly bring. Alan16 (talk) 14:22, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

An article need not be about a book, nor abt a single work, to carry both a Book-stub tag and a "Works by Rudyard Kipling" Cat.
As long as it is substantially abt something concerned with books, a book-stub tag is appropriate in the absence of some other stub tag that connects it to literature, or at least two stub tags that connect it to different non-literary areas that are more pertinent than literature in terms of potential for expansion.
As long as it is substantially abt something concerned with Kipling's literary output, a "Works by Rudyard Kipling" Cat is appropriate in the absence of some other Cat that connects it specifically to him, and makes it clear that the connection is not other aspects of him, such as biographical or onomastic connections to him.
In particular, a two-sentence article is a stub in the absence of a discussion (or an unanswered long-standing assertion) to the contrary on the talk page. And in any case, removal (as opposed to replacement) on a stub of the last stub tag, and removal without replacement of clarifying Cats, in each case placed in good faith, is both reckless and disruptive editing. Edits don't have to be perfect to be valuable, and they cannot be tolerated when they destroy previous progress without greater benefit.
I'm rv'g your bad edit. I expect to find time, before i forget abt it, to improve on my own tags. (That's not meant to discourage you from making a wiser further edit of your own.)

What what what what what in the world? How many novels are in this category? What is the purpose of a category, but to categorize multiple things? What is the purpose of this category, besides surreal ridiculousness? --Moni3 (talk) 17:54, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. I'd be interested to hear about the "all sort of problems with the converted code" if only out of curiosity. I spent quite some time on making that version work, so would like to know what you think was wrong with it. Cheers, — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:21, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
