Romanian does not use ǎ, it uses ă. Please delete this remnant of my move. The redirect is not useful, people looking for this page will be either foreigners who will not use diacritics because they don't have them in their keyboard or Romanians who will use the correct diacritics. People using random diacritics in their searches are asking not to get to where they want and will get anyway to the page they want because Aurel Urzica exists. So this is just the useless remnant of a misunderstanding by the article's author. Super Ψ Dro 23:47, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sigh. If they confuse them they will get to the page anyway. This is clutter. and there doesn't appear to be any language that uses both that reduces the possibility of confusion. Super Ψ Dro 10:32, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
May I add that looking up "Aurel Urzicǎ" -wikipedia so as to get results not from Wikipedia in Google, I only get Wikipedia mirrors. Only in Wikipedia has this misspell appeared. Per WP:COSTLY There is no need to redirect from: Implausible typos. They are eligible for speedy deletion if recently created. Redirects from common typos, however, are encouraged.. If Wikipedia is the only place where a misspell is registered, because one single person got mistaken, that does not make the redirect plausible. Further evidence will be needed in my view and it does not exist. Super Ψ Dro 10:39, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Topic not specifically mentioned in the target page. However, this redirect is a ((R from merge)) as a result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Demographics of terrorism, which took place and was closed in 2004. Steel1943 (talk) 22:27, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Speedy Keep (Nomination Withdrawn).(non-admin closure) Lunamann 🌙🌙🌙 The Moooooooniest (talk) 07:05, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Both of these are implausible redirects-- exactly who is going to take the time to put a diacritic over a letter when searching for Pikachu, when the species doesn't actually have a diacritic of any sort in the name? I recommend deletion. Lunamann 🌙🌙🌙 The Moooooooniest (talk) 18:10, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - Often macrons were substituted for French circumflexes (for example, in the English Shaman King manga, Anna Kyoyama's name was written as Anna Kyôyama. Also... https://www.sljfaq.org/afaq/kana-roman.html states "Another system, which is taught to schoolchildren, is called the "Kunrei" or "official" romanization. It is similar to Hepburn, but uses hats over characters called circumflexes to indicate long vowels, as in ô, and it uses fewer consonants." WhisperToMe (talk) 04:39, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough! Closing this here as Keep. Lunamann 🌙🌙🌙 The Moooooooniest (talk) 06:57, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely no mention of this spelling at all at the target. Edit history for this title suggests attempts at an article instead. Jalen Folf (talk) 09:46, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator comment: I will need assistance amid an active edit war regarding this redirect. Jalen Folf (talk) 01:05, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ToBeFree has semi-protected the redirect, so hopefully that should stop the edit warring. Thryduulf (talk) 01:35, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but that only. While that specific IP editor seems to have had no other intention than fueling a fire and causing damage ([1], [2], [3]), the question if RfD is the correct venue may be worth discussing, and the semi-protection of the redirect isn't a decision about this. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 01:38, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, my own vote stands-- the only thing new about the 'article' form of the page that kept cropping up in the edit war, compared to the version that was BLAR'd by AfD 17 years ago, is an unsourced chart of symbols. (And potentially, the fact that one of the sources is now a dead link.) I don't think it'd be a worthwhile use of anyone's time to send it back to AfD, only for them to hand down a similar verdict. Agreed, I did a WP:BEFORE with google, google news, google book, wiki libary, ProQuest, and newspaperarchive.com which either didn't return aything, or nothing to show notability. While newspapers.com does return results, it's either the result of a bad scan, or adverts. Other people might find things but I'm skeptical of that. "Summer Enrichment Program" isn't mentioned at University of Virginia (although it is at University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development), but I think the expression is so generic and ambiguous ([4]) that no one target is appropriate, so delete both. Nowhere on the page does it say "Joe Kerr". If this redirect is about this character, it's way too in the weeds for our purposes. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:37, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
