Hi Slafayette, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 20:18, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
Kia ora Slafayette, just thought I'd stop by and say hi! Looks like we have some similar interests on here :-) I recently discovered this crowdsourced google list of inspirational NZ women, I think it was created to help people find women to have on discussion panels etc as they are so often men-only (or men-heavy). Anyway, there are over 725 names on it and quite a few seem notable enough for a WP article ..... if you're looking for any more material to work with! All the best.
Hi Slafayette - I see you've been adding a lot of artists to ((The Group NZ))... are you sure these were all members of The Group, or did some of them just exhibit alongside The Group? If it's the latter, perhaps there needs to be a new section of the template for associated artists. Grutness...wha? 01:47, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Slafayette. On behalf of the nonprofit organization African Parks via the Wyss Foundation, and as part of my work at Beutler Ink, I've submitted an expanded and updated draft of the Liwonde National Park article for consideration at Talk:Liwonde National Park. I am looking for someone to review this draft for accuracy and neutrality, and to copy over content appropriately as a replacement of the current article, which is almost entirely unsourced.
Since you're a recent member of WikiProject Africa, I thought I'd reach out to see if you are interested in taking a look at the proposed draft. My requests for help at several WikiProjects have gone unanswered for a while now. Might you be willing to take a look at the draft?
Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 15:51, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to the World Contest. As an assistant judge I am required to recheck entries approved by the bot and I have marked a couple of yours as needing attention. You need to be careful about close paraphrasing in your articles. For example Louise Wallace (writer) states "Wallaces's work touches on family stories, popular music, travel, and relationships" while the source states "The collection touches on family stories, popular music, travel, and relationships". This is unacceptably close to the original and needs to be written in a different way. ("A variety of themes include travel, modern music and family relationships" or somesuch.) Of course, some things such as "an MA in Creative Writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters" can't easily be written in a different way, and to repeat them is acceptable. I don't want to put you off, and look forward to other new contributions from you that don't have this problem. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:22, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!
Hi Slafayette, I loved reading your article on Shirley Smith (lawyer), great woman to write about! Just checking though, you've added her to the page on first women lawyers around the world but she wasn't actually a first lawyer , she was the 41st woman in the High Court. I don't think she belongs on that page for that reason, although she could be on that page as "first woman to hold a full position in a university Faculty of Law". What do you think? On 9 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mahani Teave, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Mahani Teave is considered Easter Island's only classical musician? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mahani Teave. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, ), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi,
I was looking for some small help.Recently I created a new article en:Kithaab i.e. es:Kithaab-a play about women rights issues- which has been copy edited and is ready for translation in various languages. Looking for your possible help in translating the article en:Kithaab es:Kithaab to your language. If you are unable to spare time yourself then may be you like to refer the same to some other translator to get it translated in their own respective languages.
Thanking you , with warm regards

Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

Women in Red 8th Anniversary | |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
