Hi,
If your seeking adoption, I don't have a sea of time but I'm willing to take another adoptee if that's ok with you. Do you have any specific questions or things you'd like to talk about? I'm not really in to video games though, and I certainly don't have experience on wikipedia about it. I do have a prior history of AoE-addiction :-D

I don't have the time. All I can tell you is that someone can play it for free in the expansion Bluepaladin 23:27, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi Tomas. I didn't propose that this article be deleted - just commented that it has been deleted before. Lists of units in games are often deleted as fancruft. The content does not belong on the Age of Empires III (which I would be very glad if you contributed to - we need all the help we can get), but it is likely to be deleted as a separate article. If the quality of the content can be improved dramatically (eg. changing some sections from lists to prose?) the article might be less likely to be deleted. Good luck :D. Hi there are I saw that your adopter has gone on holiday. If you feel the need and would like a co-adopter - don't be afraid to put the Template:Adoptme back on your userpgae. Cheers Lethaniol 23:41, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Right Adoption confirmed. Well I expect you know how this works - if you have any questions just ask. Can help out with technical or policy stuff, how to deal with other users (not just with big stick!) and can read over any work if you want a second opinion. Just leave a message on my talk. Look forward to hearing from you. Lethaniol 18:59, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi Tomas,
Have come across this a couple of times but as I do not make Userboxes it does not affect me. Suggest you look at at least the first sections of Wikipedia:Userbox migration and its talk page Wikipedia talk:Userbox migration.
The basics are that controversial or biased userboxes / templates are moved out of main space - i.e. the encyclopaedia, into a user's subpage which is considered private. Therefore keeping the upstanding of Wikipedia - eh upstanding. If you are still confused or have a particular problem with this give us a shout. Cheers Lethaniol 16:40, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi TomasBat,
Right have had a quick little look - and got a few suggestions. Am normally quite critical but take heart this is a good foundation to the article - which probably needs content addition but not major restructuring. Also your wikimarkup and use of infobox is good.
Okay now for some construction criticism:
Right that is my first impressions. Give us a shout if something does not make sense, and if you want me to have another look or do something specific to the article I am here to help. Cheers Lethaniol 17:19, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Someone mucked up while proposing the following for deletion Template:User browser - which left the message you saw. This has nothing to do with you, but to do with the template itself. I have removed the template - as it is not useful and we are not meant to use useboxes that all Wikipedians might use (e.g. This user is human). Suggest finding a userbox for this user browses with IE of Firefox. Hope that answers your question. Lethaniol 21:25, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi Tomas -
Okay this is a good start to an article - but at the moment it is only a stub. Most importantly you need to read up Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_crystal_ball. For a future book to be notable and worthy on Wikipedia - it needs an already notable author (see WP:NOTE) and well sourced third party sources documenting what this future book is about (see WP:V and WP:RS). I tell you this because someone might come along anI d WP:AFD if this future event is not well sourced.
So priorities
And once all this is done, you will be in a good position to sit back and add the new information as it come in. Again I have been quite critical but hopefully the above points will help you develop this into an excellent article - ready for the books release. Any further questions on this or anything else I look forward to hearing. Cheers Lethaniol 15:14, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

All you have to do to upload an image is click "Upload file" in the toolbox (under the searchbox). For a screenshot, you have to add ((game-screenshot)) as the caption (the biggest box) while uploading. This ensures that a bot won't delete it a few days from now as unlicensed. Hope that helps! | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 14:31, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Good luck, and leave me another message if you need more help. | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 15:27, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... did you type ".emf" after the source and destination names of the file? | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 15:56, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Not "emf.", but ".emf". If that doesn't work either, click browse, then go to my documents; then my pictures; Tokxatron, the folder; and finnaly the picture. By the way, has your "new messages" bar changed? Mine says "Your user talk page has been edited (last change)." now. | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 19:15, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Could be. Or maybe someone hijacked Wikipedia. :-O | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 19:29, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... Did you change the file name, move it, or in any way alter it? Also, did you take it with the "Prt Scr" (Screenshot) button two places above "Delete", or with a program installed in your computer? | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 22:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Just got back, but I can only be here for about five minutes... Which image, the Ottoman homecity? | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 02:24, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Let's see... you said it was paint? Paint uses the file format ".png". That's probably why it was corrupted, because the file type was changed (I believe changing it back fixes it). | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 10:13, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi. A copyedit in this case is the removal of information that has no value to readers of the article who do not play the game. According to the Computer and Video Games Wikiproject, it is preferable not to include details that can be construed as 'gameguides' - ie. tips or pieces of trivia for actual players of the game. The other use of 'copyedit' in my edit summaries to AoE is in the sense of correcting grammar or spelling. ck lostsword|queta!|Suggestions? 22:44, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi TomasBat... I read your message to CKLostsword, and the answer is quite simple, really :)
All you need is to add a summary to the image. Say who took it (that would be you), why (to demonstrate home city on Age of Empires III article, perhaps), how (computer screenshot).. stuff like that...

Hi Tomas -
Sorry for my delay in replying on the question you asked, have been away from the internet for a few days.
Okay - generally speaking I do not think the upload command at Special:Upload is used in Wikipedia for items except images. There are other projects where other file types can be uploaded for specific purposes e.g. see WP:SPOKEN. Basically the reason for this is that Wikipedia is encyclopaedia driven - and uploading of files is organised by another part of the Wiki project - see Wikimedia]. The reason Wikipedia allows image uploading is to allow users easy access to this function, without registering on another site (note the image is very quickly copied over to Wikimedia).
Anyway the upshot of all this - is that if you have your own content that you wish to release under the WP:GDFL license to Wikipedia e.g. videos, animated diagrams, sound recordings etc... then do so at Wikimedia. Obviously these files have to be relevant to the development of the Wiki projects i.e. notable, relevant, high quality, appropraite format etc... I suggest you have a look at Wikimedia and see if it is what you are looking for - any questions either ask there, or me and I will search for the answers. Also if you had a particular file of interest in mind then a particular WP:Wikiproject may already have the tools to help you.
Ok get back to me if this answers your questions. Also as an aside I will contact your brother after the weekend to offer adoption. Cheers Lethaniol 15:54, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Oppose.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Please stop with that nonsense. Messaging people at random, even with a "nice" message is just spam. Nothing more anoying than having to stop what you are doing to check the talk page only to find a pointles random smiley (at least make it "opt in" only for those who actualy like getting messages for no good reason). I also removed your fake "you have messages" banner, spoofing MediaWiki interface messages is frowned upon and this one is just anoying. --Sherool (talk) 14:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Not long ago, the admins had a monkey-dance about the “new messages” joke, and decided that it was bad-bad-bad.
Part of their unreasoning was that this would cause users to distrust the interface; another was that fake “new messages” alerts could be used (with spoofing) to collect login information. It did not occur to the monkey-dancers that people should be taught (by jokes or otherwise) to distrust an untrustworthy interface.
In any case, you could get in trouble for playing this joke on your User and User_talk pages. —SlamDiego 06:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm sure you've been told this before, because I have and my signature is of relatively the same coding length, but your signature is much too long. Perhaps you could remove the links to your contribs, talk page, and signature book. ~ Magnus animum (aka Steptrip) 18:39, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Do you not find it just a little hypocritical to have a message telling people that the "new messages" banner was created for a reason directly below your mock-up of it?
Also, your talk page is almost 80kb long. Archive perhaps? Miss Mondegreen | Talk 08:09, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
I can see above that I'm not the first person to come here asking you to a) improve the readability of your signature and b) reduce its length. Please do. However, I don't think anyone has yet pointed you to our official guidelines on signatures, WP:SIG. The page is very useful - as well as stating the guidelines, it gives useful advice on things like how to reduce length without necessarily making it a simpler signature. Hope that's helpful. --Dweller 10:56, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Centipede_1998_3D_Screenshot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigrTex 03:31, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I am concerned about your welcome message. It contains one image that is not GFDL and cannot be used in Wikipedia (the bouncing Wikipedia logo). The huge "smiley face" is inappropriate and wasteful of resources. Hello, I've noticed you've added colorful images to some of your votes over at WP:MOTD. While your opinion is certainly appreciated, these images are unnecessary and a bit distracting, so I would ask that you please not use them in the future. A simple support or oppose, followed by your reason (which is where you can be creative!), will do just fine and make the closer's job much easier. Thank you. --Tewy 18:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I'd suggest you consider withdrawing your RfA. Currently, ten users have supported you, eighteen are opposed, and 5 are neutral. Withdrawing would increase your chances of any subsequent candidacy for an adminship passing. However, if you feel that the current RfA has a chance of passing, please don't withdraw.
And also, it would be a good idea to archive your talk, some users might not like it. BH (T|C) 04:55, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Titans right side image 02-1-.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:09, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

It's posted below. I suggest you take the text, and either create a sandbox to work on it, or work on it offline, but not leave the entire text of the article on this talk page (another words, delete everything but this post). If you expand/improve it significantly, addressing the arguments given during the debate, note that it will not be subject to speedy deletion under CSD G4 as is often misunderstood and misapplied. However, please note that in order to address the arguments, I think the article needs to focus on the topis as it is used (if it used) outside of the book (citing to reliable sources verifiying its content of course). Self-published books are black holes as notability goes. If the focus of the article remains on the book, I don't think that will get you anywhere and will not address the afd debate.--Fuhghettaboutit 01:44, 27 June 2007 (UTC)--Fuhghettaboutit 01:44, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Hola Mentors!
Im sending you this reminder because you volunteered to mentor my students in English Advanced B as they become contributing members of the Wikipedia community. We start working with Wikipedia in earnest next week. I ask you to take a look at your entry in the Mentor Table at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors
Please update the information, esp. with what your technical and informational expertise is or, if you have decided that you no longer want to participate, please remove your information from the table. Please watch the pages associated with the project. Students will contact you via your user page and as soon as my students have user pages, I will put them on the navigation bar associated with the project.
I don’t need to remind you that your job is NOT to write their assignments for them, of course. I certainly will tell my students that… and the fact that you are volunteers that don’t have to help them… so they need to be nice. If any students misbehave (tho I don’t expect it) don’t hesistate to contact me and I will take care of it. The goal of this project is to integrate successfully into the Wikipedia community. Anyway… what I really need your help with is helping students get oriented to Wikipedia, make appropriate changes and write about appropriate topics (see Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Syllabus for assignments). I also need your technical expertise… I am only an English teacher after all! I appreciate what technology does for us but I am no technical expert!
Again, thank you for volunteering and you will hear from us again soon! Thelmadatter 19:45, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Thelmadatter
This level of transclusion is completely unacceptable, as was the size of your message. It effectively scared off an editor you used it on, and that's why I've temporarily redirected it to ((welcomeg)). Fix it before a developer comes along to bite your head off.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:50, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Please see Wikipedia:Subst for why you shouldn't transclude the same page 1,337 times. I'm currently working on substing them, and this is going to take a while. In the future, please use ((subst:User:TomasBat/Welcome)) so the servers don't choke on it. Thanks. ~Kylu (u|t) 07:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

One last favor Tomas,
We have to find people working at different schools in U.S.A. and Canada.
The difficult part is that we have to talk to them and ask about the department of our major.
Do you know people in those countries that we can contact?
Thank yo for the tip

Hi Xn4. Just a friendly reminder: Don't forgot to Subst ((User:TomasBat/Welcome)) when adding it to user talk pages, by adding subst: to it. Cheers and happy editing, ♠TomasBat 02:32, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Hello Kylu. I remembered these comments: [6] and [7], and this huge amount of edits coming from your part; so I substed transclusions of my welcome template made by other users, and I substed transclusions of some other welcome templates as well. But then, I ran into this welcome template and, since that welcome template's level of transclusion wasn't very small, I started to wonder whether all that should be substed, also considering that that template's level of transclusion was less than 500 compared to the over 1300 level of transclusion of my welcome template, that is was smaller, that it isn't changed very frequently, and that the user who created it is more experienced than me (meaning that the probabilities of that user having a logical and valid reason for not substing are higher). So, is it worth the effort? Should I/anyone subst them all? The answer to this question will also determine my future as a "welcome-template-subster". ♠TomasBat 03:49, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for cleaning up after me on my vandalism warning to Sundevil92264. I had originally left a level-2 warning using substitution, but when I thought better of it and changed to a level-1, I forgot to include the subst: tag. dhett (talk • contribs) 04:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I was wondering what is the standard 'allignment' for Wikipedia articles? If there is no required 'allignment' I was thinking it might be more appropriate to change the layout of articles so that they are justified rather then left alligned. Only a suggestion, please reply with your opinion and any comments you may have.
Coding: (<)div style="text-align: justify;"(>)TEXT(<)/div(>) - Remember to remove the brackets "( )". -Jack 05:02, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Just replying to let you know that I appreciate the reply and I have started a new discussion in the 'Manual of Style' 'Talk Page' (thanks for the suggestion) and I will soon find out if it is appropriate or not. Hahaha, I don't want or plan to change all of Wikipedia's 2,032,244 articles, so that they are all justified. That's crazy!! Especially if only one person is to do it! -Jack 04:52, 2 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stealth Carbon Eagle (talk • contribs)
Okay...would you mind then explaining to me what the 'main style sheet of...[a]... website' is? Thanks -Jack 05:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stealth Carbon Eagle (talk • contribs)
Let me get this straight. The 'main style sheet of...[a]... website' is CSS, as it sounds like what your saying. But what I don't get then is what you mean by this "That sort of thing wouldn't be made to every single article; it would be made to the main style sheet of the website." - How does this relate to my initial post? -Jack 06:37, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I see. So what you're saying is that if I edit the style of one article it will in turn modify the style of every article...so, for curiosity's sake only, where is the style sheet located for all of the articles? Jack 04:11, 3 October 2007 (UTC)- —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stealth Carbon Eagle (talk • contribs)
Hmmm...another question (that has come to me after thinking about the way you have phrased your responses) I would like to ask is that if I change the style sheet and save it, will I only see the changes or will everyone see the changes? -Jack 04:31, 3 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stealth Carbon Eagle (talk • contribs)
Hahaha, yeah that's a good point. You seem to be replying more times then he does. Hahaha, he probably enjoys the argument and is reading it so he can prepare himself for the answer next time this topic comes about. Anyway, I was just thinking, that maybe it would be a good idea, theoritically speaking, to have all the articles on one subject (or topic) justified, rather then having to change the style sheet for all of the articles. What are your thoughts? -Jack 06:29, 3 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stealth Carbon Eagle (talk • contribs)

Borregos Salvajes is the name of all collage sports teams that represents the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey since the foundation in 1943 in different sports like: basketball, volleyball, football and soccer in all the different categories both manly and feminine. [1]
The Organización Nacional Estudiantil de Fútbol Americano (National College Organization of American Football) it´s the result of very important football organizations. Among with this team also was born the Club Deportivo Internacional (International Sports Club). And in 1929 was instituted the first official summon for a championship, by Jorge Braniff. [2]
This was the beginning of football in our country. First major category, later the second and third force, later the fourth arises, some years later infantile, etc. In 1970 it takes the name of National League and in 1978 ONEFA is finally created. [3]
Borregos Salvajes are best known for the college American Football representations of ITESM campus across Mexico. The three most successful College American Football Borregos teams are those from Campus Estado de México, Campus Monterrey and Campus Toluca. Whenever these three teams meet, the game is considered a derby. [4]
Since the ITESM first competed in the ONEFA, the many Borregos teams have dominated the league, with most of the championships going to one ITESM team. However, since these events are only recent, most other participants don't consider the Borregos to have a great history. [5]
This team begins in the mayor league in 1995, when most of the players were rookies, at the beginning their seasons weren’t exactly what they expected, but with the pass of the years the team has become more important and more competitive, the players had earned a lot of experience throw the games played. In 1997 the team has an administrational change, and with a new head coach they managed to climb to the “10 Grandes” conference. [6]
The first years at the maximum circuit were difficult but promising. The team shows the desire of being protagonist and their zeal to improve keeps growing every day. At 2000, another head coach starts to lead this team, and with some other committed staff members, they managed to stay at the conference and figurate as one of the most important teams in the league. [7]
These days the team is coming throw bad times as a consequence of a trouble during a preseason game, but the administration of the ITESM Campus Toluca is trying to fix this issue, spite of all this team has the spirit and the hope to come throw. [8]
In 1945 a group of young students from an emerging educational institution, came together to create a team of a little known sport called football, for the purpose of complying with an invitation of the newly created team of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Autonomous University of Nuevo León), they never thought that they would be giving birth to an icon of the culture area. [9]
The first classic of this region was played on November 20, 1945, and the team won by marker 12-7. From 1945 to 1947 Borregos compete in a league with the local teams Tigres and Gatos Negros. But thanks to the rapidly growth of football in Monterrey, the second force league was established in 1946. When the first force season 1947-1948 arrived, Borregos under the command of a new head coach, Leroy Willeford obtained their first victory in a first force classic on Nov. 8, 1947. [10]
The next year, on Dec. 11, 1948, Borregos won their first championship in the mayor category. On July 17, 1950, was inaugurated the Estadio Tecnológico (Technological Stadium). Borregos won the mayor league trophy in 1950, 1951, 1953, 1958 and 1959. Borregos were crowned champions in 1962-1964. In 1965 the team was not formed by a decision of the ITESM, but returned the next year. [11]
In 1974, with a new head coach, Julio Ayala, Borregos Salvajes became the new national champions. In 1985, Coach Frank inherited a team that will get the crown in 1987, 1988 and 1989, of the National Conference, of the newly created ONEFA. After losing the title despite advancing to the postseason in 1991 and 1992, Borregos Salvajes started the 1993 campaign with the assurance that they were on the right track to achieve its first national champions trophy at the “10 Grandes” conference. [12]
In 1994, Frank González and his team repeated as monarchs of the ONEFA. And since 1996 they began a run that until today is kept alive. They are present at all the major finals of the highest level of student football in Mexico. Currently Borregos Salvajes are renowned throughout the Mexican republic, and their games are viewed through the main television sports channel, ESPN, in the entire continent. [13]
Since the foundation of the State of Mexico campus in 1976, the sport is regarded as an "essential activity in the comprehensive education of our students." One of the sports that had greater acceptance and support from the campus community has been the Football. [14]
This sport began to take place in the year 1979, in the intermediate category, and in 1984 already had teams in 3 different categories: Youth A, AA and Intermediate, and since 6 years ago Mayor Category. The mayor league team began in 1994 participating in the ONEFA. The team won the second place. [15]
In the year 1996 with a record of 11 wins with no defeats, finally the team achieves the championship of the national conference, which gave this team the opportunity to play at the highest level in the country. In the first appearance in the conference, the 4th place was obtained with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses, losing the semifinal. [16]
The year 2000 marked the beginning of what will be the dynasty of Borregos, and in this year they won the more desired title by the players, the championship in the of "10 Grandes " conference. In the following years the team had setbacks since it was never the main goal, however not ceased to be on the first 3 places of the table. [17]
Football its a sport that requires not only strength but also intelligence and especially attitude: not to be overcome, courage and fight against adversity. This is what Borregos Salvajes have demonstrated year after year, because in the past 12 years the team have been involved in 34 finals, of which the team have achieved 22 championships and 12 second places. [18]
Football in Mexico City campus had its origins in the year 1992, the year in which barely combined two categories: Youth "A", and Intermediate. Football was a new sport on the campus, and that is why student’s participation was low. However, there were young people who trusted and formed part of the team since its inception, thus marking the beginning of a joint history, the football as a traditional sport in the Mexico City campus. [19]
The year 1994 marked the beginning of a new phase with the arrival of coach Manuel "Pibe" Vallarí, with his presence there was a restructuring, which made the effort to recruit players from outside the campus, inviting them to play and study within an institution of great prestige and level. [20]
In 1995, Borregos Salvajes played its first championship in the free intermediate category, which prompted the interest and desire to be part of the team to a greater number of students, thereby creating the possibility of launching a mayor league team on campus. [21]
In 1996, Borregos Salvajes obtained the championship of Youth "AA" CONA league, noting that the competitive level of this team was on the rise. In that same year the scholarship program began for student development of football players, which opens the mayor league team at the campus in 1997, with young players with great potential, the national conference of the ONEFA. [22]
The new stage of football in Mexico City campus began in 1999 with the arrival of head coach, Jaime Antonio Martinez Celaya. For the 2000 season, Borregos Salvajes of were listed as the big favorites to reach the championship, and so they did it, they won the championship that gave him a spot in the “10 Grandes” conference. [23]
Since 2001 until 2004, Borregos Salvajes only were able to win 1 game in the conference. Due to the lack of positive results, the administration decides to hire a new head coach, Mario Revuelta Zúñiga, and immediately the results improve and Youth A team achieves the championship undefeated and mayor league team managed to win 3 matches, the same story was repeated in 2005. For 2006 an advisory committee was created where both Mexico City campus and Santa Fé campus cooperate together to strengthen the football program and decided to have a new head coach, César Martínez Sánchez. [24]
These days the team is at the 10 Grandes conference, and they keep working hard and seeking for better results.

Symbol does not contain glyphs for the latin alphabet. I'm curious as to whether you were comparing the shapes of the latin and greek alphabet, or latin in times new roman to latin as it shows up in your default font (since glyphs are not available in symbol) - in other words when you typed b, does it look more like "b" or like "β"?
Just a happy Birthday message to you, TomasBat, from the Wikipedia Birthday Committee! Have a great day! |

Saludos! Osikerda1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Osikerda1 (talk • contribs) 18:05, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello TomasBat, I see you're on vacation at the moment, but I wanted to inform you that I've granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that you are an effective vandal-fighter, and know the difference between a good-faith edit and vandalism; as such, I can trust you to use rollback correctly. If you don't want rollback, let me know and I'll remove it, but in the meantime, I hope you're having a good vacation. Good luck. Acalamari 04:15, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not sure if you know this already but Help Wiki was shutdown and at my request AGK has given me the xml data for all the pages so we don't loose our hard work. At the moment I'm still thinking over what to do with the content but I think incorporating it back into Wikipedia is the way to go. Unfortunately I don't think the CC license used is compatible with the GNUFDL(its the no commercial restriction in the CC license that is the problem). Anyway if I am going to incorporate that pages back into Wikipedia I'll need you to release your work under the GNUFDL, just something like "I agree to release my work under the GNUFDL" will be fine. If you have any other suggestions or comments feel free to tell me them. --Chris 12:07, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

While looking throuhg various pages on google that contained the phrase Coin945 in it, i came across a conversation in which you spoke to an administrator, trying to get him/her to put them into my userpage, just so i could have the proudness of creating a huge informative article (no matter how bad it was!!). Making those articles were a big milestone for me in my article-creating technique and i deeply thank you for trying to uncover them. Thanks for uploading Image:New Horizon Interactive.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hello, I notice you're using one of the ((motd)) templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:31, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!
Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 13:54, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:TokxatronSimpleLogo.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:TokxatronSimpleLogo.JPG is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:TokxatronSimpleLogo.JPG, please affix the template ((hangon)) to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 00:44, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Descent from Adam and Eve, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding ((hangon))
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.
We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington. In April, we met with some local Wikipedians to learn what they would like to know about other editors’ history and activities (within Wikipedia) when interacting with them on talk pages. The goal of those sessions was to gather feedback to help design an embedded application that could quickly communicate useful information about other Wikipedians. We have now created a few images that we feel represent some of what our participants thought was important. We would appreciate it if you took a few minutes of your time to complete an online survey that investigates whether or not these images would be useful to you. Your quick contribution would be very valuable to our research group and ultimately to Wikipedia. (When finished, the code for this application will be given over to the Wikipedia community to use and/or adjust as they see fit.)
Willing to spend a few minutes taking our survey? Click this link.
Please feel free to share the link with other Wikipedians. The more feedback, the better! The survey is completely anonymous and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. All data is used for university research purposes only.
Thank you for your time! If you have any questions about our research or research group, please visit our user page. Commprac01 (talk) 01:06, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

I created the article Meteorological history of Hurricane Gordon (1994), suggested it for DYK, and carried it all the way through FAC. At one point I had nominated it for Good Article status, but the backlog was enormous and other editors suggested that I send it straight to Featured Article Candidacy. I was the primary editor at every stage of its life. Would I still qualify for your award, even though the article skipped GA status? Plasticup T/C 22:46, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

A tyrant who's judicial relativism has destroyed the Constitution. Men and women have died and are dying for this country supposedly to support and defend the Constitution and our natural rights. The reality is that those sacrifices have been twisted to allow a corrupt judiciary to deprive people of Constitutional rights and replace them with judicial relativism.
The value judgment that he was a great judge is a lie and ignores the horrific impact of his disregard of the Constitution and imposing a Krytocracy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mkcimini (talk • contribs) 15:35, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Men and women have died and are dying for this country supposedly to support and defend the Constitution and our natural rights. The reality is that those sacrifices have been twisted to allow a corrupt judiciary to deprive people of Constitutional rights and replace them with judicial relativism. O. W. Holmes Jr. is seen as a great jurist when in fact his seeds of judicial relativism have destroyed the Constitution. Relativism or progressive are both code words for Socialist overturning of Constitutional rights.
Just look at the Kelo decision as an example. That property still has not been developed. Additionally the Common Law constraints historically imposed on takings were completely ignored (e.g., equal access protections and government intervention in price setting). Suck takings would have been unheard of by the founding fathers and seen as treason.
When reading the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers you see that the containment of the evils of government is a great concern. Containment of the judiciary's evils was 1) the judiciary did not control "the purse strings of government" and 2 ) the judiciary would be bound by the common law and precedence. Well so much for the latter; judicial relativism has taken out that protection. Judicial relativism does away with the constraints of Common Law principles (separate and distinct from Common Law case law which was the Common Law principles as applied to the specifics in the case). And given Federal Title IV money being funneled into state judicial coffers completely void of legislative oversight.
Seeing that tyrant as anything but a tyrant is a form of re-education and justification for ignoring Constitutional provisions.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mkcimini (talk • contribs) 15:50, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,611 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the ((unreferencedBLP)) tag. Here is the article:

This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:51, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:AoE 4 Wonders.JPG. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:13, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Magnant Cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. The Military history WikiProject has started its 2012 project coordinator election process, where we will select a team of coordinators to organize the project over the coming year. If you would like to be considered as a candidate, please submit your nomination by 14 September. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact one of the current coordinators on their talk page. This message was delivered here because you are a member of the Military history WikiProject. – Military history coordinators (about the project • what coordinators do) 10:02, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Hello, you are receiving this message because you are currently a participant of WikiProject Good articles. Since the creation of the WikiProject, over 200 user's have joined to help review good article nominations and contribute to other sections of the WikiProject. Over the years, several of these users have stopped reviewing articles and/or have become inactive with the project but are still listed as participates. In order to improve communications with other participants and get newsletters sent out faster (newsletters will begin to be sent out monthly starting in October) all participants that are no longer active with the WikiProject will be removed from the participants list.
If you are still interested in being a participant for this WikiProject, please sign your user name here and please help review some articles so we can reduce the size of the backlog. If you are no longer interested, you do not need to sign your name anywhere and your name will be removed from the participants list after the deadline. Remember that even if you are not interested at this time, you can always re-add your name to the list whenever you want. The deadline to sign your name on the page above will be November 1, 2012. Thank-you. 13:36, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for having to send out a second message but a user has brought to my attention that a point mentioned in the first message should be clarified. If user's don't sign on this page, they will be moved to an "Inactive Participants" list rather then be being removed from the entire WikiProject. Sorry for any confusion.--Dom497 (talk)15:25, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

A 'Request For Comment' for Good Article Nominations is currently being held. We are asking that you please take five to ten minutes to review all seven proposals that will affect Good Article Nominations if approved. Full details of each proposal can be found here. Please comment on each proposal (or as many as you can) here.
At this time, Proposal 1, 3, and 5 have received full (or close to) support. If you have questions of anything general (not related to one specif proposal), please leave a message under the General discussion thread. Please note that Proposal 2 has been withdrawn and no further comments are needed. Also, please disregard Proposal 9 as it was never an actual proposal. |

Hello! Now, some of you might be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along. A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk) This message was sent out by --EdwardsBot (talk) 01:30, 4 June 2013 (UTC) |

Hello! A GAN Backlog Drive will begin in less than 4 days! In past Backlog Drives, the goal was to reduce the backlog of Good article nominations. In the upcoming drive, another goal will be added - raising as much money as we can for the Wikimedia Foundation. How will this work? Well, its pretty simple. Any user interested in donating can submit a pledge at the Backlog Drive page (linked above). The pledge should mention the amount of money the user is willing to donate per review. For example, if a user pledges 5 cents per review and 100 nominations are reviewed, the total donation amount is $5.00. At the time this message was sent out, two users have submitted pledges for a total of 8 cents per review. All pledges, no matter how much money, are greatly appreciated. Also, in no way is this saying you must make a pledge. |
Hello! Just a friendly reminder that the GAN Backlog Drive has begun and will end on December 31, 2013! If you know anyone outside of the WikiProject that may be interested, feel free to invite them to the drive! |

It's that time again! Starting on March 1, there will be another GAN Backlog Drive! There will be several changes compared to previous drives:
Also, something that I thought I would share with all of you is that we raised $20.88 (USD) for the WMF in the December 2013 drive. It may not sound like a lot but considering that that was raised just because we reviewed articles, I would say that's pretty good! With that success, pledges can be made for the upcoming drive if you wish.
More info regarding the drive and full descriptions regarding the changes to this drive can be found on the the drive page. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on the drive talk page.
I look forward to your participation and hope that because of it, some day the backlog will be gone!

Hello everyone! Hope you've all been having a great summer!
TheQ Editor recently proposed the idea of having another Backlog Drive in either September/October or November/December of this year. For those of you who have participated in the past two drives you know I was the one who organized them, however, come September, this will be my most important year in school so I will not be able to coordinate this drive (if it happens). TheQ Editor has volunteered to be a coordinator for the drive. If any of you would like to co-coordinator, please notify TheQ Editor on his talk page.
If you would be interested in participating in a Backlog Drive sometime before the end of this year, please notify TheQ Editor. Also, make sure to specify what month(s) work best for you.
At the time this message was sent out, the backlog was at 520 nominations. Since May, the backlog has been steadily increasing and we are currently near an all time high. Even though the backlog will not disappear over one drive, this drive can lead to several others which will (hopefully) lead to the day where there is no longer a backlog.
As always, the more participants, the better, and everyone is encouraged to participate!

Hello everyone! We hope you have all been having a great summer!
As we all know, the recent GAN Backlog Drives have not had any big impact on the backlog. Because of that, me (Dom497), Figureskatingfan, and TheQ Editor have worked on an idea that could possibly finally put a dent into the massive backlog. Now, I will admit, the idea isn't entirely ours as we have took the general idea of the WikiCup and brought it over to WikiProject Good Articles. But anyways, here's what we have in mind:
For all of you that do not know what the WikiCup is, it is an annual competition between several editors to see who can get the most Good Articles, Featured Article's, Did You Know's, etc. Based of this, we propose to you the GA Cup. This competition will only focus on reviewing Good articles.
For more info on the proposal, click here. As a FYI, the proposal page is not what the final product will look like (if you do go ahead with this idea). It will look very similar to WikiCup's page(s).
The discussion for the proposal will take place here. Please let us know if you are interested, have any concerns, things to consider, etc.

WikiProject Good articles is holding a new competition, the GA Cup, from October 1, 2014 - March 28, 2015. The Cup will be based on reviewing Good article nominations; for each review, points will be awarded with bonuses for older nominations, longer articles and comprehensive reviews. All participants will start off in one group and the highest scoring participants will go through to the second round. At the moment six rounds are planned, but this may change based on participant numbers. Some of you may ask: what is the purpose for a competition of this type? Currently, there is a backlog of about 500 unreviewed Good article nominations, almost an all time high. It is our hope that we can decrease the backlog in a fun way, through friendly competition. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors! Sign-ups will be open until October 15, 2014 so sign-up now! If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the four judges. Cheers from NickGibson3900, Dom497, TheQ Editor and Figureskatingfan. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:04, 15 September 2014 (UTC) To receive future GA Cup newsletter, please add your name to our mailing list.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
