The 2024 Runnymede Borough Council election will take place on 2 May 2024 to elect one-third of members of the Runnymede Borough Council in Surrey, England. This will be on the same day as other local elections in England and police and crime commissioner elections.[1]

At the last election, the Conservative Party lost its overall majority on the council for the second time since the council's formation in 1973, the first being a short period between 1996 and 1998 when it was also under no overall control.[2]

Following the resignation of the Conservative Party Councillor Max Darby, who represented the Ward of Woodham and Rowtown, there will be a by-election to fill the vacancy held on the same day as local elections in England and police and crime commissioner elections. [3]

Former Egham Hythe Councillor, Alex Balkan, had to withdraw his nomination at the election for the Conservative Party and was replaced by Tanya Solomon who stood for the Conservative Party unsuccessfully in Englefield Green West Ward in 2022 and 2023. [4]
