Draft:Ramgarh Hills[edit]

Reason: To match Draft:Ramgarh Hill which was creation-protected last year. Repeated target of sockpuppetry by Iptesh Kumar Meher (talk · contribs). Belbury (talk) 12:47, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

Note: While this draft was created by said now blocked user, it was created before the block, so it isn't a G5 deletion (which would have been my way of dealing with it, and fully protect after the deletion); but we shouldn't be fully protecting a draft which has just been declined, but not rejected outright. Current requests for reduction in protection level[edit]

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Request unprotection

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add ((Edit fully-protected)) to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page[edit]

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Request edit

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among ((Edit protected)), ((Edit template-protected)), ((Edit extended-protected)), or ((Edit semi-protected)) to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the ((Edit COI)) template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Israel–Hamas war[edit]

In the "Sexual and gender-based violence' subsection under Allegations of War Crimes, the first paragraph ends with the sentence The New York Times reported that "videos of naked and bloodied women filmed by Hamas on the day of the attack, and photographs of bodies taken at the sites afterwards, suggest that women were sexually targeted by their attackers." (Reference #615 and 616)

Two paragraphs down, the second sentence is The BBC reported that "Videos of naked and bloodied women filmed by Hamas on the day of the attack, and photographs of bodies taken at the sites afterwards, suggest that women were sexually targeted by their attackers." (Reference 621)

Please add reference 621 to the first paragraph, and add 'and the BBC' following The New York Times, and remove the whole sentence in the third paragraph.

User talk:Bbb23[edit]

@Bbb23: I feel a small bit silly leaving a talk page message here, but your talk page is indefinitely semiprotected and I'm not seeing any other reasonable way to reach you. If I can ask, why did you revert my AfD comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charmaine Yee? I know it didn't contain an explicit Keep or Delete vote—I haven't looked for external sources yet—but it did contain some thoughts on the sources currently in the article, and a warning in case anyone else doesn't realize The Straits Times isn't independent like I didn't at first. (I suppose I can make it an explicit Weak Delete At The Immediate Moment vote if that truly was the problem with it.) 2603:8001:4542:28FB:106F:4494:915:3A2A (talk) 06:38, 14 February 2024 (UTC) (Send talk messages here)

Autopatrolled[edit]

User:BhamBoi[edit]

Link to previous denied request: Special:Permalink/1157787269#User:BhamBoi, and a ping to @Schwede66. Please use sigma to view my created articles, as xtools does not filter out redirects.

I've created 62 articles, and I'd like to receive the autopatrolled right because I've addressed all the concerns from my previous request—namely, my last 3 articles (Shang-Ping Xie, Highly Cited Researchers program, and Jeffrey B. Remmel) received no human edits after publication and patrol, showing my competency in writing articles that don't need another set of eyes on them before patrol.

Thanks! BhamBoi (talk) 17:49, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

Just an update for transparency—there had not been any human edits to Remmel when I posted my request, but now a cosmetic edit to a template has been made—though it should not affect my request. BhamBoi (talk) 19:55, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

I have created over 200 articles. I started by first putting drafts through AfC until I felt comfortable moving them to mainspace myself. I am an AfC reviewer. I have contributed to a significant number of AfDs with a decent track record of !votes matching community consensus. TipsyElephant (talk) 20:00, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Here's the first article I've created this month: The Blind Contessa's New Machine. I noticed some other editors were declined because they haven't worked much with BLPs. Looks like the last BLP I created was Nicholas Quah. I review BLPs at AfC regularly as well. However, I would completely understand if my request was declined on those grounds because I don't create BLP articles very frequently. TipsyElephant (talk) 12:53, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

User:A.WagnerC[edit]

Hello everybody. I'm actually a more active editor on ptwiki, since 2015, but I've also been editing on enwiki. I have already created 27 articles. My counter has 25 articles, but I also created Bubble Bobble 4 Friends and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2, which unfortunately didn't enter my counter. I also participated in the promotion for GA of the Valis III article. I will soon promote Lupe Cotrim. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 01:16, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends was just a redirect. I tried to ask for the redirect to be speedy deleted, and thus to count count as my creation. But unfortunately the administrator refused my request. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 12:28, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

User:T. E. Meeks[edit]

Has created 50 articles over the past year, the vast majority (all?) well-referenced and with no outstanding maintenance tags. This relitigation of a minor 2021 dispute is the only controversy she's been involved in over that timeframe. I notice that she has put in a few inappropriate external links to YouTube, but if those were too minor for previous patrollers to change, they're probably too minor to hold up this user right. User:TNstingray[edit]

Hi, I'm requesting the responsibility to be a Pending Changes Reviewer. I believe I have a significant history of addressing vandals on various pages, as recent history is typically one of the first things I look at anyway when editing a given page. I believe I have the experience and maturity necessary to exercise this right, hopefully beyond the six criteria provided at WP:RPC. I will only use this tool to enhance my contributions to the betterment of the encyclopedia. This is my first request for permissions. Thank you for your consideration. Rollback[edit]

User:ItsCheck[edit]

I have used Twinkle to revert vandalism mostly from the recent changes page for quite a while now and warn/report users. Twinkle is not sufficient for me on "longer" articles because of my slow internet connection. Reverts I make with Twinkle often take up to ten seconds, which slows me down. Rollback permissions would be greatly appreciated to make edits faster and save time. I can be trusted with rollback permissions as I have been actively reverting vandalism since July 2023, consistantly warning editors with the templates that Twinkle offers with little breaks. I have a satisfactory understanding of what is and what is not vandalism. Additonally, pages on my watchlist get vandalized a lot too, so I could always help revert edits as I have a sharp eye on it. As a side note, I applied recently but got denied. Thank you, ItsCheck (talk) 00:40, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

Automated comment This user has had 1 request for rollback declined in the past 90 days ([2]). MusikBot talk 00:50, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
Not done I sampled a small handful recent reverts and found numerous instances where you are reverting edits that are either not vandalism or should not have never been reverted (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Please familiarize yourself with what actually constitutes vandalism and spend at least another month patrolling RecentChanges before reapplying. -Fastily 04:04, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
@Fastily, This edit is vandalism because the abbreviation LAMP was on the article and this user removed it from the head of the disambiguation page. Additionally, the account that made that edit was vandalism-only, and they swiftly got banned from Wikipedia because of their actions. As for this edit, that one introduced a deliberate factual error. Installment is not spelled as "instalment" with one letter l, so that is why I reverted it. Please explain why you consider these edits vandalism as they are evidently not. ItsCheck (talk) 02:19, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
1 could have been good faith, vandal or not. You should have labeled it as such when leaving a notification. In 3, you are reintroducing the spelling error you claim to have been correcting. -Fastily 05:50, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
@Fastily What do you mean? Edit one was make by a user whose only intent was vandalism. If you had told me to label my revert as good faith, that I would have understood. On the third one, instalment was wrongly spelled with two Ls on the article before I changed it to one L, so you are incorrect. Please review the provided edit one more time before replying to my comment to understand your mistake. Thank you, ItsCheck (talk) 20:07, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Installment is spelled with 2 l's. Try consulting a dictionary before throwing foolish accusations around. -Fastily 00:14, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
@Fastily, What about edit number one? That edit was unconstructive and made by a vandalism-only account. ItsCheck (talk) 04:13, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Already explained that to you above. Based on your replies above, I'm thoroughly convinced you are unfit for rollback. A word of advice: knock off the whinging, it's doing you zero favors. -Fastily 05:35, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
@Fastily I apologize, I seriously thought you were wrong and I was not trying to be annoying. Again, I will try my best to be more careful and reapply when I am ready. Thank you, ItsCheck (talk) 00:53, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

User:Alon Alush[edit]

Automated comment This user has had 1 request for rollback declined in the past 90 days ([3]). MusikBot talk 15:00, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Not done. I'm concerned by the recent messages on your talk page about bad reverts (i.e. 1, 2) and inappropriate use of a 4im warning. Also, I see you're still not consistently warning editors when you revert their edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Please slow down and exercise more caution, RC patrol isn't a race. I'd like to see you spend at least a month gaining more experience before making a new request. -Fastily 21:17, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

I see that you are failing to consistently warn editors when you revert their edits. Why? Are you aware that we have tools such as Twinkle or RedWarn that make this extremely easy? -Fastily 21:17, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
Some of these edits were reverted days after being made. Do I still need to warn editors after? Thanks SKAG123 (talk) 04:30, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

User:Greatpopcorn[edit]

I've been patrolling recent changes off-and-on for some time (my first Twinkle edit is from 2013!), albeit with some long wiki-breaks in-between. In the past few months I've started to get back into fighting vandalism in earnest, and I believe I've gained a very good understanding of when something is vandalism or not. I've started using Huggle in read-only mode as a real-time recent changes tool, and I'd love to be able to use the full features of this tool to fight vandalism more effectively. Thank you for considering my request! Greatpopcorn (talk) 08:26, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

Not done I noticed you make a handful of edits, and then drop off for months at a time. While I appreciate your enthusiasm, I'd like to see you spend at least a month consistently patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & RedWarn can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are always warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 21:17, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

User:Bildersindtoll[edit]

Hello there, I often find myself in articles related to Germany and it's mainly a case of vandalism that brings me here. The user has been banned, but I would like to undo his countless edits.  Not done I reviewed your contributions and found little to no recent anti-vandalism work. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & RedWarn can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 21:17, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
